Just finished the South Korean series I Am Not A Robot (2017-2018). A little silly but heartwarming. :)

We just finished re-watching 'Station Eleven'. Personally, its in my top 5 all time great series. We're going to start 'Adolescence' tomorrow.
Station Eleven is amazing, one of my favorites, reportedly a bit sanitized compared to the book, but I’m ok with that. This is the best post-apocalyptic story from a good vibe aspect, I’ve ever seen, there is violence but it’s censored. I admit to being disappointed that the highway robbery scene was by-passed to the morning after. 🤔

Third time watching 1883 and still loved it! In my top 5 with BB, GOT & Barry & Banshee!
cool, I like those show as well,
what was the main thing you liked about the show and what aspect would you recommend?
personally I never heard of that but there are many Montan-ian series floating about recently.

is that me, or does Barry has the loooooooonesgt them song evah!

I just love the theme of the journey and all the danger. Especially the river episode, how this could be such an ordeal. Isabel May was fantastic and I loved all the drama. Landscape were spectacular, especially at the end when they arrive in Montana.

thanks for the reply, the series looks interesting!

Absolutely Brilliant. Have finished watching it. Very much in the line of classic British Murder/Farce, with dialog and multiple plot twists. The only annoying thing is the profanity from a couple of the characters.
The final episode has some interesting comments about working for the White House, rather than the President.

100% agreed. It didn't improve any of the lines.

It felt gratuitous at best.

I am enjoying this one as well. I'm about 2/3rds of the way through and I'm beginning to find it all a bit modern in terms of characters attitudes, dialogue and oh my goodness I didn't realise dentistry was so good back then but it moves at quite a pace and oh, the landscapes etc. Reminds me a bit of a pint sized Dances with Wolves which is no bad thing... A decent watch...

We've been binging on The Wire.

Never seen it before, and since it frequently features in different "Best ever..." list, and definitively the highest ranking as such that we've never seen, I thought it was time.

On thing though... we're now about half way through Season 2, and it's kind of... mid.

Ok, so it started very slow, and has improved somewhat, but so far it hasn't reached anywhere near the level it should, based on its somewhat near-legendary status.

Is it just us, or has it dated somewhat poorly?

Seasons 2 & 5 are generally considered to be the weakest.

Season 4 is often considered to be the best.

But yeah, if you didn't care for Season 1 either, you're probably going to like the rest of the show. I'd continue to give it a chance, but that's the problem with setting expectations high.

Ha, I'd say that any profanity would give it an even more British vibe... ;)
It doesn't though.

And if you look up the cast on google they've got one member wrong.

They have Andre Braugher listed as the character "A.B. Wynter".
It is actually being played by Giancarlo Esposito.
I wonder if Braugher, one of my favorites, RIP, was going to play that part originally?

Sorry, just a bit of a rubbish joke really. It's just that everyone here swears like troopers to the point most of the words have long since lost their shock value...

We are going to preservere, and watch the rest. :)

It's not a bad show, by any means, but I'd rate Season 1 at a 6/10 in total, and so far in Season 2 it's about the same, but if that, too, improves a bit towards the end maybe we're looking at a 7/10?

I tried managing my expectations a bit. I knew i t was a bit slow in the beginning, and I've heard whispers that it feels a bit dated (even if its "just" ±20 years), but at the same time the show in total has a whopping 9.3 on IMDB and 95/96% at Rotten Tomato, which should put it in S-tier/god-tier, so it's hard to not have slightly elevated expectations...

Hopefully Season 3 + 4 can redeem it a bit. ;)

Braugher starred in the 6th season of “The Good Fight” and as expected was wonderful, imo.

One of my favorite shows. But, season two to me was the weakest season. Good stuff. If you stick with it, I highly suggest watching "We Own The City". Same writers, but WOTC is based on true events and boy it is a doozy. WOTC is one season is six episodes, goes by quick...

Finished S2. Brilliant. Can't wait for S3.
I hope they'll give us more of the background story they've shown in some episodes of S2 or maybe a spin-off.
And maybe they can hurry up this time. Don't want to wait another 3 years.

We started “Common Side Effects” on Hulu, only to see that episodes 3 - 5 are missing. I guess when you subscribe to Mx through a Hulu bundle you can’t sign in to the Max app, so wee are on hold until/if those episodes show up. Shame because the first two episodes are really good and I hear it just gets better

Finished season 3 of Reacher and I loved it! Much better than S02. It’s straight to the point, no wokeness, no BS, no stupid and pointless family drama, no moral lessons and I loved small town vibe. The big fight got me thinking of Banshee, one of my all time favorites.

So highly recommended show. It’s what I would describe as a true entertainment.
