We just finished re-watching 'Station Eleven'. Personally, its in my top 5 all time great series. We're going to start 'Adolescence' tomorrow.
Station Eleven is amazing, one of my favorites, reportedly a bit sanitized compared to the book, but I’m ok with that. This is the best post-apocalyptic story from a good vibe aspect, I’ve ever seen, there is violence but it’s censored. I admit to being disappointed that the highway robbery scene was by-passed to the morning after. 🤔We just finished re-watching 'Station Eleven'. Personally, its in my top 5 all time great series. I wanna read the novel ... and see this show.We just finished re-watching 'Station Eleven'. Personally, its in my top 5 all time great series. We're going to start 'Adolescence' tomorrow.
cool, I like those show as well,Third time watching 1883 and still loved it! In my top 5 with BB, GOT & Barry & Banshee!
thanks for the reply, the series looks interesting!I just love the theme of the journey and all the danger. Especially the river episode, how this could be such an ordeal. Isabel May was fantastic and I loved all the drama. Landscape were spectacular, especially at the end when they arrive in Montana.
100% agreed. It didn't improve any of the lines.Absolutely Brilliant. Have finished watching it. Very much in the line of classic British Murder/Farce, with dialog and multiple plot twists. The only annoying thing is the profanity from a couple of the characters.
The final episode has some interesting comments about working for the White House, rather than the President.
Ha, I'd say that any profanity would give it an even more British vibe...Very much in the line of classic British Murder/Farce, with dialog and multiple plot twists. The only annoying thing is the profanity from a couple of the characters.
I am enjoying this one as well. I'm about 2/3rds of the way through and I'm beginning to find it all a bit modern in terms of characters attitudes, dialogue and oh my goodness I didn't realise dentistry was so good back then but it moves at quite a pace and oh, the landscapes etc. Reminds me a bit of a pint sized Dances with Wolves which is no bad thing... A decent watch...Third time watching 1883 and still loved it! In my top 5 with BB, GOT & Barry & Banshee!
We've been binging on The Wire.
Never seen it before, and since it frequently features in different "Best ever..." list, and definitively the highest ranking as such that we've never seen, I thought it was time.
On thing though... we're now about half way through Season 2, and it's kind of... mid.
Ok, so it started very slow, and has improved somewhat, but so far it hasn't reached anywhere near the level it should, based on its somewhat near-legendary status.
Is it just us, or has it dated somewhat poorly?
It doesn't though.Ha, I'd say that any profanity would give it an even more British vibe...![]()
Sorry, just a bit of a rubbish joke really. It's just that everyone here swears like troopers to the point most of the words have long since lost their shock value...It doesn't though.
And if you look up the cast on google they've got one member wrong.
They have Andre Braugher listed as the character "A.B. Wynter".
It is actually being played by Giancarlo Esposito.
I wonder if Braugher, one of my favorites, RIP, was going to play that part originally?

We are going to preservere, and watch the rest.Seasons 2 & 5 are generally considered to be the weakest.
Season 4 is often considered to be the best.
But yeah, if you didn't care for Season 1 either, you're probably going to like the rest of the show. I'd continue to give it a chance, but that's the problem with setting expectations high.
Braugher starred in the 6th season of “The Good Fight” and as expected was wonderful, imo.It doesn't though.
