Had a love/hate relationship with it back when it came out. So I thought I would revisit it and see if it gets any better. That worked for Lost, which I loved when it aired until the end which I thought sucked. When I rewatched it, I really enjoyed it. So maybe this will be a similar experience.

I really liked this one as well... it got a bit loosey goosey at the end though...

Yes, but... it's not over. ;)
It was cancelled after season 2, there were supposed to be more seasons (5 were planned and partially written). They already had the whole plot. In many ways, it reminds me of Dark (which is perfect, not a single plot hole in the whole story). But the OA sets up things, that are not answered, while Dark kept delivering answers in a much more satisfying way. I think the OA is failing to do that in a constant way. My guess is, we would have gotten answers in seasons 3 to 5. So season 2 was just setting up things and ultimately left us hanging.

There are rumours that once rights return to the creators, we'll get the rest. It was cancelled in 2019 and if I remember correctly, after 10 years the creators get the rights back (not for season 1 and 2, but for the franchise). The odd part here is, there was a fan who offered to fully pay for season 3 and Netflix refused. The obvious problem is, come 2029, the actors will be much older.

In that way, Netflix is as bad as Fox. The just keep cancelling good stuff. I'm still not over 1899, which was brilliant.

We finished the eighth seasons of Dexter and I have a question:
I remember the hurricane and a disastrous finale it was but I don’t recall the lumber company…was it added few years later or the show finishes with the hurricane?
there was no campay, just him in a lunberjack outfit wth a beard

I started The Penguin again as i did not finish the series, I forgot everything
therefore i guess a restart since i have the extra time.

Reacher S3 has been ok. I haven't found the writing to be as good as Season 1 or 2.

The Pitt has been decent (for the first 11/15 episodes of Season 1) although in a lot of ways, it hasn't been as medically accurate as ER was.

There really isn''t much in the new shows department that really keeps me interested versus the classic tv shows. It doesn't help when there are only 8-10 episodes per season.

Couldn’t agree more. One of my favorite programs from the not-too-distant past is “Castle.” Seasons were 22+ episodes and with 8 seasons did not suffer from overexposure. Today’s short seasons might as well be called miniseries instead of seasons. Laziness? Staff expenses? Advertiser pressure?

Streaming versus broadcast television; broadcast (the big three; ABC, CBS, NBC) and cable networks had advertisements running, which paid a lot of bills and drove more episodes per season to keep people tuning in; there was also the whole syndication thing, a series needed a certain number of episodes to be picked up for syndication...

If you're in the UK watch this! Not sure if it's available worldwide. It is one of the best dramas I've seen in years. Superbly written and acted and each episode, there are only 4, is done in ONE take! Shocking and VERY modern and relevant material. The actor playing the child is fantastic. All the acting is superb.

After rewatching The OA, which I enjoyed more than the first time, I've decided to quickly rewatch

Should be done by Friday, then I'll start Severance S2.

Ok. So I found out today Owen Cooper who plays Jamie in this show has NEVER acted on stage or in a show before! It's literally his first gig! He is amazing.
It is the most watch show this week on Netflix, globally.
