I like it, but it's almost a tinge too violent for me. I don't know why it bothers me more than say Sopranos or the Wire, but there's something about this show...

We mostly enjoyed SOA, but it quickly went from drama to melodrama, had some inane and pointless plot elements (some of which were just abandoned), some violence that didn't bother me on a emotional level so much as it did from a critical perspective because it was so gratuitous it was _silly_.

We recently rewatched The Sopranos, beginning to end, every episode over the course of about 2 months - it was just a good if not better the second time around.

On Season 6 of Sons of Anarchy

The last season, which I can't remember is six or not, but the last season gets a little dark. One of my favorite series. Someone mentioned soap opera with violence and bikes! That pretty much sums it up! The first season was still trying to find itself but after that it is good, really good.

There has been rumors about doing a few spin off shows, but I haven't heard much lately if this is still the case or not.

Started the Defenders last night. In to it for two episodes already. Not bad, but not great either. Will give watch the first season.

Narco's season three comes out on September first! I can't wait! That is one of our favorite series, so we will be finishing up the Defenders and then on to Narco's.

Rumor has it the Man In The High Castle "might" be coming back for season three at the end of the year!!! I can't wait for it!!!!!!

Same, 2 episodes in, kind of ambivalent about it so far, Daredevil was anywhere from a A- to a B- (some odd story decisions, still probably averaged to a solid B+ for me) I liked Jessica Jones (maybe a B), Luke Cage was OK (B- to maybe a C+), I didn't finish Iron Fist (UNK :D) Will probably just back burner it for some future date when I get the entire season reviewed and know if they're going to have further seasons.

Darkest (recent) series that come to mind

Hannibal
Penny Dreadful
Black Mirror
American Horror Story

People are mumbling about Oz (1997-2003). Any viewership around here?

Nice, the top 3 series I'd highly recommend. Black Mirror is super fun, only what? Like 10 episodes? It's an anthology series, Outer Limits with some Twilight Zone by way of modern technology.

AHS is a little more tricky, you have to like a little more camp, more trashy exploitative type horror - like Herschell Gordon Lewis mixed with John Waters with a sprinkling of Ed Wood :D

I'd add to the list Bates Motel.

We started Oz a few years ago, made it through 3-4 EPs of S1, it wasn't bad, just sometimes things don't click immediately, and I seem to recall we had some series we were keeping up with in real time we wanted to watch.

Netflix sent us a new disc for Hannibal and we started that last night. Good stuff. Started watching the new Tick show on Amazon Prime this afternoon. It's highly amusing and I'm liking it so far.

It's fantastic, and such a shame more people don't know about.

tbh, I did know about it, but for some reason I did not care to check it out.
after it being suggested here, I am decided to give it a go. my brain-cells died and need resurrection after sprinting through the defenders.

Black Mirror: First episode in, and I knew I'd like it. It's like a modern version of Amazing Stories or Twilight Zone. I finished all 3 seasons. There were a few duds, but there were some pretty unique and fascinating episodes as well.

We liked this last season the best out of all of them. Good series and we said the same thing, modern take on Twilight Zone style show.

Discovered Grimm a couple of weeks ago and am having a lot of fun with it.

One of our favorites, there is a rough spot in season three or four, but hang in there with it. You won't be disappointed.

Happened to come across the new Ducktales pilot on Disney's YouTube channel. I enjoyed it a lot.

I'm somewhat shocked no ones mentioned watching Blood Drive. It's not my cup of tea, but I would have thought some longtime posters of this thread were into the genre.

Anyway, perusing Netflix to see what's new. Taking Netflix suggestions, though. No sci-fiction, please.

I'm in a 70s 'mood', so decided to try Starsky & Hutch.... pretty entertaining, and an interesting snapshot of 70s California.
