Exactly my feeling about the current and last season of Ray Donovan (s04 & s05)

it is worth getting into, but I have started getting tired of it. Maybe because they have developed more family drama than dealing with clients and the covering up of their vices. That was the real fun part of the show.

It definitely slowed up a bit, don't get me wrong, it's still a favorite - they definitely moved the focus to less about the fix-of-the-week, and more to the family, and of course the major events [no spoilers] of S5. I wouldn't be surprised if they're winding down to a series finale - the showrunner kind of suggested they've seriously considered S5 as way to end it on the right creative note.

This thread is NOT going to be good for my overall wellbeing. I already love TV so much and this'll just feed the beast! Wife and I just finished binging Ozark and absolutely loved it. We started Peaky Blinders but then she headed off to Vancouver on business so I'm patiently waiting for her return!

I watched the first EP of Ozark, really dug on it, hit the brakes so my SO could catch up (we generally watch everything together).

... and holy hell, I totally forgot about Peaky Blinders, we watched the first 2, it was excellent (huge fan of Cillian Murphy, the genre, the period, Steven Knight's work), it somehow got lost in the shuffle. S4 is bring promo'ed too, _time_to_binge_.

We got through the first 3 episodes and I think I might actually rewatch them today - it's one of those shows that definitely requires your full attention. We've got crap weather so I may as well.

Also +1 on loving the time period. This is also part of the reason that I absolutely loved Boardwalk Empire. Anything in the early 1900s, I'm on board.

Sidebar: My wife and I watch most everything together, too. I sometimes find this to be frustrating since I tend to have a bit more free time to watch TV than she does, so I pick things I'm fairly certain she won't really care for and watch them for myself. Lol. I don't actually run these by her because she has a tendency to say, "I want to watch that too!" even though I know she doesn't. I'm not technically LYING about them...I'm just not outright telling her what I'm watching alone. Lol. It's worked out so far, there haven't been any shows I've watched that she's later said she wants to watch. :D

You might like Mr. Selfridge. I've probably butchered the title, but it's that show with Jeremy Piven.

Just finished the 2000s BBC short miniseries (3-1.5hr episodes) To the End of The World with Benedict Cumberbatch. It was fantastic, especially if you like period shows and high (wordy) English speaking.

I'm watching UFO (1970). It was an excellent sci fi show for it's time and it had a great opening.

Yes! Great Gerry Anderson show - more people are probably familiar with his biggest live action show, Space: 1999.

I watched UFO as a pretty young child, hahaha, and it's dark, drugs, kids being killed ... come to think of it, that explains a few things. :D

I enjoyed UFO more than Space 1999 but they both are good.

UFO had very few completely happy endings and it was adult orientated.

Another British sci fi show I really liked was Blake's 7 (Like Star Wars (which it proceeded), it was a fight between rebels and an evil galactic government.) I think it had the best series ending out of all the series I have ever watched.

Spoiler Final Scenes Blake 7

I think I'm going to track down and rewatch UFO :D

Space: 1999 had a terrific first season, but the second season became a bad mix of Trek + Lost in Space (funny to read about how the producers were pushed to take it into a totally different direction). To this day, I'm still slightly scarred by by the Dragon's Domain episode ...

Blake's 7 I never quite go into, though I was a fan of a lot of British TV, that may be another series I track down (thanks for the reminder).

Anyone else watching "The Deuce" on HBO! Holy smokes!! The show is actually really good, gritty, and again, holy smokes! The stuff they are showing on it.

I was unimpressed within the first 15 minutes and got rid of it, despite my liking of the green goblin jr dude. I’ll give it another go following your remarks

Is it the best no. But the interactions between the characters and well what we see in the series is something else. Don't get me wrong, it is no Game of Thrones, but man. It has violence, sex, lots of sex, prostitutes, cops, cops on the take, oh and now cat houses and the start of porn!

I have never come across a series which I double binged a season within a few days, and I would never expect myself to do so especially with such a religious themed one, but just WOW!!!!

Story, cinematography, dialogue, acting, locations, editing, lighting, top marks across the board!!
