The Collection, Season 1 (Amazon Studios, 2016). Set in Paris after World War II, a fashion house tries to seize the moment and rise above the chaos and recriminations of the post-war era in France. There seem to be as many secrets as scissors and silk pins in that house.

Despite my personal preference for wearing jeans and tees or workshirts or maybe a smock with pockets during time spent in the studio, I love film about fashion, e.g. The September Issue, so I'm giving this Amazon Studio series a shot. "It ain't just about the clothes..." for sure, even if they are gorgeous. Have only watched a couple episodes but I'm hooked on the several plots and so far find myself hoping there's definitely a season 2 coming up.

My wife mentioned something about that recently. I'm waiting for Amazon's take on Jack Ryan, with the lead being the star from Chuck. I've got to hand it to Amazon and Netflix. We're seeing a lot of famous actors and actresses, even McTouchy-Toucherson Spacey, take them up on their offers. A mere 10 years ago, a film actor going into television meant they couldn't get anything at the theatrical level anymore.

@LizKat If you've got Netflix, you should checkout Cable Girls. It's in Spanish, and deals with the time during the Spanish Revolution. It's a very interesting show. There's also a French show on there. It's a comedy-drama post WWII, in the 50s or 60s, I think the latter. It shows off French culture really well and makes comedic lightness out of France losing her overseas interests thanks to the cultural revolutions that took during that time period.
[doublepost=1510124211][/doublepost]On the other hand, I for one am quite thankful that neither the film or television industry wants to deal with Katherine Heigle anymore.

I think you mean one of the stars from the US version of The Office.
Never seen it.

Edit: Just checked IMDB. Zachary Levi is not credit with an episode of that show. Think you're thinking of someone else.

An awesome British comedy from the 70s. (And IMHO would never be made today).

The new Jack Ryan series _stars_ John Krasinski ... as Jack Ryan. He was one of the stars of The [US] Office.

You are misattributing Zachary Levi (from Chuck) to that role. Levi's most recent notable credit is the outstanding Alias Grace series on Netflix.

The CW.

Firestorm and Hawkgirl are interesting, but I am not a fan of those CW DC shows as they're too soap opera for my tastes.

I wish a mainstream network would have picked up the upcoming Titans, but perhaps DC will eventually punt that over to iTunes or something after they've shown it on their streaming service for awhile.

My binge is Bizarre Foods and the Delicious Destinations spin off. I do not have the patience for long form tv at the moment.

You're correct, I do not watch a lot of tv. I'll stick with the comics and Andrew Zimmern. :p

Another British sci fi show I really liked was Blake's 7 (Like Star Wars (which it proceeded), it was a fight between rebels and an evil galactic government.) I think it had the best series ending out of all the series I have ever watched.

Spoiler Final Scenes Blake 7
Ah, Servalan is my all-time favorite baddie. I always wanted her to crush Blake, Avon and their terrorist chums.

CW invests in a lot of comic book shows, don't they? Good for them. FOX invests a lot in sci-fi shows other networks pass on. ABC shows are usually interesting. NBC and CBS are tossups. I love NCIS for example.

Watching Runaways on Hulu.

Not sure about the character changes from the comics to the show, and Karolina's special effects are sketchy.

I just downloaded Inside Combat Rescue and I will binge watch the 6 episodes of that in between my wife binge watching Revenge which will be a while. I learned about Inside Combat Rescue from a coworker who is a Combat Rescue Officer as the show focuses on them and Pararescuemen and we work alongside them.
