Pitch black.

and aggravating.

what we have been duped into is watching soap operas.

all of these shows we like are what my mom used to watch when i was a kid. I hated those shows.

all of these shows are remakes of the guiding light but with titties and extreme violence.

i'll finish season 2 of ozark but i can't see me watching it after that.

and this goes for every show i watch these days.

I’ll pass. However I can watch a show like Bloodlines and enjoy it, I think because of the writing, and the way it was presented, a top notch drama.

I'm always a bit curious when Ozark pops up (maybe becaues of the strange title and definitely because of Jason Bateman) - but since I watched Arrested Development 1-3 religiously back in the day I'm having a really hard time watching Michael Bluth in a thriller/drama..can't take the guy serious.

I thought I had the same problem but due to the nature of the character, he fits it perfectly. It's like what would happen if Micheal Bluth were up to his neck in cartel drug politics? It works.

I agree with @pacmacman, he pulls if off and does so in a very convincing manner. So far the only character that grates on my nerves and this is due to her character is the blonde female who he has taken under his wing. I say this loosely since she was pretty much a hustler already, every time she shows up and the attitude she has. Ugh.

So far the series is good and yeah, there are a few holy &*^% moments and I am only half way through season one!

Season 2 is even better.

whats ozark about?

A financial advisor with "shady" clients moving to the Ozarks with his family and trying to stay alive after some unfortunate events.

That's it in a nutshell. Check it out, it's pretty great.

edit: Not really spoiling anything, but I've grown paranoid over these things.

The Ozarks (or Ozark Mountains) is a region in the US, and that's where Marty Byrde moves with his family after his business dealings with a drug cartel go bad. He has to settle a debt with the cartel by laundering drug money or they will kill him and his family. The show deals with that, and problems the local criminal element introduces into the narrative.

I've only seen a couple of episodes of the second season, but the quality seems to still be there.

Hahahaha, LIKEs for everyone!!
[doublepost=1536182613][/doublepost]Yeah, I hopped on S1 right when it came out, I love Bateman and Linney, was excited to see Esai Morales involved in something, it had kind of a Breaking Bad vibe (modern crime noir), then when I liked it, definitely wanted the wife to watch too (we watch 98% together), waited for her, just sort of derailed.

Yeah, I really like Bateman as well, and was initially surprised at how well he makes a serious role work. The guy has talent, that's for sure.

And that's the last like you're getting from me on this subject!

i kinda derailed from watching Walking Dead and its not because its bad just been kinda busy but wanna start again. there is one other series that im dying to watch which already started its first episode on tuesday, its called Mayans M.C., its a spin off from SOA. SOA was great but i have a feeling that this will be better. the Mayans seem more ruthless so it should be better. i heard they will clash with the Cartels in this one. will start seeing it on my next paycheck cause i gotta pay to get slingTV to see it

Yes, it is. I am still on season 1, “Alien in London.”

Fun! I watched Doctor Who decades ago, then hadn't for years, didn't really pursue the new show when it first aired, wound up during a week "home alone" catching up on like 4 seasons and was just thrilled with how they brought it back, Christopher Eccleston was terrific, and I'll say no more as I'm not sure what you do and don't know about it :D

Just finished season 1 of Ozark and holy smokes! That last episode. Didn't really see that coming!

On to season 2, but first we are going to watch Iron Fist Season 2! Unless of course the wife wants to start season 2 of Ozark! HAHA
