For fans of horror, I'd highly recommend Channel Zero on SyFy. We watched S1 it was very good, saw S2 was planned, for some reason just sort of forgot about it - then I recently saw the accolades about Season 3! Wow, we missed two seasons, so we just finished S2 and it's fantastic. It's probably some of the best horror television produced in the last several years.
So it's an anthology series, with a self-contained story per season, 6 episodes per season so it's pretty tight and focused. The interesting thing is the stories are taken from Creepypastas, horror stories that originate online, usually short, sometimes crown collaborations (where people post their experiences of some phenomenon as non-fiction), usually these are very viral as well.
Seasons:
Plots of the 4 season, not really spoiler-y, but I'll hide them in case anyone wants to go in totally cold:
Candle Cove
A child psychologist returns to his hometown to determine if his brother's disappearance is somehow connected to a series of similar incidents and a bizarre children's television show that aired at the same time.
No-End House
A young woman and her group of friends visit a bizarre house of horrors only to find themselves questioning whether it is a tourist attraction or something more sinister.
Butcher's Block
A young woman moves to a new city haunted by a series of disappearances and, after learning that they may be connected to a baffling rumor, works with her sister to discover what is preying on the city's residents.
The Dream Door
Newlyweds Jillian and Tom have each brought secrets into their marriage. When they discover a strange door in their basement, those secrets start to threaten their relationship - and their lives.

Anyway, yes, that's an important detail I should've mentioned: we're watching directly on SyFy.com (I don't believe it's "included" on another streaming service as of yet, i.e., Netflix/Hulu/Prime), it's pay-per-episode on Prime/iTunes/Play, and SyFY is included in some bundled "TV" packages like Hulu Live, Sling, Vue, etc., not sure if those provide only "as broadcast" watching for SyFY or any access to existing content[?]

Yeah I saw that it wasn’t on any of the streaming services. I have cable, but it seems season 1 is no longer available on the site. Guess I will have to pay for the first episode and see if I like it.
Root around the SyFy.com site, there's a lot of video content, some episode excerpts, maybe even a S1E1 freebie[?] You can probably get a sense of it, and S2 shifts gears a bit, gets a little more visceral, hahaha, there's a scene in S2E2 that was one of the more WTF moments I've had watching a television show in a while ...

Sounds good! Have to check if it's available in Germany. Maybe Sky has it..
Was watching The Exorcist S1 a couple of weeks ago. Not bad. Not awesome of course but still captive.
S2 unfortunately is 25bucks for now so will wait that one out till they include it within Prime.
An outstanding mini-series all around. The direction, performances and script are all top notch. The performances by Laura Linney(Abagail Adams), David Morse(George Washington) & Danny Huston(Samuel Adams) were particularly outstanding.
Quite possibly the best portrayal of the American Revolution IMHO. Highly recommended.
i saw 7 or 8 episodes (did not watch TV then) and never seen them sequence, so I started yesterday.
the first 3 are kinda raw, dialog very tacky and portraits other departments are close-minded bullies.
what caught my interest was crime scenes than had over 10 investigators, this was before downsizing were today's crime TV shows have 3, tops!
I read some bad reviews of Ryan so I'm holding off for now. Especially since its not a limited series, don't like to get into a show that might just be cancelled before it ends the way the creators want it to. Man In Castle is getting a bit boring for me, as well. And I know there will be at least two more seasons. They are really stretching out the original story. I hope they have an end in mind and in just doesn't keep going and going....

Yeah, season 3 starts in a month and they got the thumbs up for a 4th. I've also seen 4 1/2 episodes of PKD's Electric Dreams. Although based on short stories written decades ago, I can't help but feel like its an inferior Black Mirror clone.
