the mini/Pro max will outsell the 12 so they're trying to get the margins up
This isn't true at all. The 12 is going to sell better than the Mini/12 Pro/12 Pro Max, because it's going to the sweet spot for most consumers.

Per Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple shipments for this generation are split as iPhone 12 at 40%, with iPhone 12 mini/Pro/Pro Max all at 20% each.

The first thing I thought when I saw this is my old Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100, and sure enough the iPhone 12 Mini is indeed the size of a Samsung Galaxy S2, lol, that is incredible!

Thank you for pointing that out. I have a physical comparison now and know that whilst its nice to hold i doubt I'd like it to see content on it even though it was fine for me 9 years ago!

Man I wish the standard 12 was 5.8!

well, manufacturers do get estimates wrong. In a few months everyone will know for sure

Haha, indeed! It may be pretty painful to text and view content with the 12 Mini for a lot of us, I cannot imagine going back that size.

Yeah of course. Don't get me wrong, I think the Mini will, and should be a hit, but Apple also has the accurate data from 10+ years of doing this to predict which models will be more popular. And the XR and 11 were the runaway hits from the last two generations of iPhone. I hope the Mini surprises them just as much as us! Personally I think the sales will be as follows: 12 > 12 Mini > 12 Pro Max > 12 Pro.

Which case is this? Thanks!

Hahaha... I already ordered a case from Amazon.
I picked this one because it has flat sides unlike some others with round sides. I have been waiting for flat sided iPhone and why would I go with a round sided case?
And I like the little feet on the corners because without them the back will get scratched up.
I cannot waaaaaaitttttt!!!

I did professional photography and the lenses I used most were a medium and an ultra wide. Whats the point of the zoom lens? to take photos at the zoo? Usually people take selfies and have body movement control when taking photos of others. iPhones already do the Bokah effect without the telephoto lens and this was the prime reason to use a zoom lens on my cameras. Unless im missing something here, I dont see myself using the telephoto unless im trying to take a video of someone being an idiot from far away to Catch a license plate. I was thinking of getting the Pro but my heart is telling me to go Mini.

Not 100% certain, but most likely will get a mini, 128 gb storage, SIM free. Currently using an XR, prior to that an iPhone 6. I do not like the XR, still seems big to me, but also there is something about the display that I don't like (kind of odd, it isn't like I downgraded from an OLED screen). I realize same storage 12 Pro doesn't cost too much more, but don't think I want to stay at 6.1" for the extra features (not positive, though). Now, for color ???

I’ve never liked the curved back or stainless steel iPhones. I might have to sell my 11 Pro and go for the Mini. I absolutely love the design. The iPhone 4/5 were the most visually appealing designs in my opinion. I loved how it was so slim and light. The Pro just feels bulky and heavy like a phone from years ago.

Agreed, the iPhone 4 was my favorite design.

For some people (like me ;)) it'd be a test of will and patience due to that 3 week difference.

I have an 8 Plus, so either model would be a nice slim-down from what I'm used to. But I'm still undecided if pocketability beats out battery for me.

Also I mistype enough as it is with my big thumbs on the 8P, so I can only imagine the mini lol

I only hope the blue mini won’t go on backorder within hours on 11/6/20.

I anticipate every iPhone 12 model to be back ordered within maybe even an hour. If they’re pushing back the release, it seems to indicate that they’re struggling with production.

Personally, I'm torn between the 12 Mini and the 12 Pro. I'd have to hold them both. I'm also growing really tired of having a mediocre camera in my phone, and would love to splurge on the upgrade. The triple camera and LiDAR really look like they're capable of amazing stuff.

Mini excellent size for pockets and portable one handed single use crazy how times have changed back in 2013 or 2014 had a Samsung note 5.5 inch that was massive in screen size now seeing the mini looks so tiny..

So there’s no way to order both the mini and 12 pro and get both at the same time to decide which to keep. If you wait till the mini is available to order the 12 pro will be out of stock and your 2 wk turn around will have expired.

I thought I was getting the mini until I kept seeing how much everyone values telephoto.

Now I’ve got my 12 Pro 128gb (may go 256?) Pacific Blue ready to buy in 13 hours!
