debating between that and the 11 pro. I'm on an 8 now so seems like a decent step up. I prefer a smaller phone, but my eyes are starting to go so might pick the 11 due to screen size and extra battery.
Would it help if I continued to use 4g if that’s possible as I’m not bothered about 5gI don’t care how efficient the A14 is... with 5G, all screen design, and a super small battery this thing is going to have no endurance which is unfortunately why I will personally not buy one.
I remember a while ago, when there was speculation about the iPhone SE 2, then someone wanted an iPhone with the old iPhone 5 design, but with FaceID, edge to edge OLED screen, better camera, etc. I loved the idea, and has done so ever since. Today came the iPhone 12 Mini, and it is exactly as it was described at the time.
There is no doubt I am buying a Mini.
Am not afraid of it getting too small. I use my iPhone as a phone, for messaging, podcast, mail, internet searches, Apple Pay and that's it. I do not play games on my iPhone, I do not watch movies on my iPhone. I need to have a handy mobile when I'm on the go. I have a nice iPad that can be used for all those "couch" things, like playing and watching movies. That's the iPad's job. The iPhone has another job.
iPhone 12 Mini, 64GB in Black, for me.
Oh definitely! Disabling 5G will definitely help with battery life. Which is thankfully expected to be better than the SE at least!Would it help if I continued to use 4g if that’s possible as I’m not bothered about 5g
I think the iPhone SE that is only rated an hour less was far from enough to make it through more than half a day for me. And that doesn’t have 5G or a rather large display to power.Do you think Apple is lying about battery life?
So was that just a pitch for 120hz? We get itIf I buy any iPhone this year it will be the mini. I currently have an 11 Pro Max that is sitting around not being used since I switched to a Note 20 Ultra.
There are times that feels way too big and I feel like a nice compact phone would be a good change of pace.
I know it is silly, I just don't know how I can go back from 120Hz though. People say "oh scrolling matters that much to you"... well yeah. I'm willing to bet most of us spend more time scrolling or watching animations on our phones than pretty much anything else.
Do you think Apple is lying about battery life?
I'm in the same boat. I have the X and considering the mini or the 12 pro.
If mini had zoom instead of ultra-wide (which I rarely use), it would be a no-brainer
5G is going to cook that battery.
While I love the 11 Pro and will miss the telephoto lens, the smaller form factor and weight will be nice. For video, I much prefer a laptop or a full size TV, so screen size and battery life is not an issue.
I agree. Basically the only thing I need my iPhone for these days is the camera. The S6 watch handles outdoors exercise tracking, Apple Pay, and most notifications.
You need a randonneur bag! Check out Acorn Bags. ;-)I have the watch too, but use Spotify and they still don't have watch music downloads. Running with the 11 Pro on an armband is just ridiculous, but I still do it sometimes. The Mini will be so much more comfortable. I also exclusively use a phone as my cycling computer and this will be more compact on the handlebars with the quad lock mount.
I with you on this, same reasons.I remember a while ago, when there was speculation about the iPhone SE 2, then someone wanted an iPhone with the old iPhone 5 design, but with FaceID, edge to edge OLED screen, better camera, etc. I loved the idea, and has done so ever since. I'm guessing you missed the event. It has a feature that only turns on 5G when needed. This is how they were able to add 5G to phones other than the largest size. Don't worry unless you're in a football stadium or downtown by the skyscrapers in a major city you won't get mm wave 5GI was, but 5G is going to run train on that battery capacity.
Hey I remember you and your epic thread on the OG iPhone SE! Not surprised you’re gonna pick up the Mini! HahaI will, 150%, be purchasing the Mini. This is the phone I've been wishing for since they came out with the SE. Feature-packed but small form factor. So excited.
