I will order a 12 and a 12 mini.

Put them both side by side and let a youtube video run in a loop.

If theres no significant difference in battery life i will be getting the Mini for sure.

I am undecided between white and black.

I would have loved to have got the iPhone Mini, but Apple chose to omit the 2x lens from this phone, and that is the lens I use the most (I rarely use the 0.5x lens, as that puts distortion into the picture), so I am sticking with my 11 Pro, at least for now.

I'm with you on that. I use my phone much less with an iPad lying around. I almost don't want to use my phone these days because of how distracting it can get.
I personally only use my phone in situations when it is not convenient to use my iPad Pro, like walking around, and to take photos. Small phone with iPad for more intensive use is a nice combination

Love the size. I can’t wait to get the mini, and I wasn’t even intending to upgrade this year. They really hit it out of the park with a small phone displaying the same amount of info as an 5.8”, on a screen with high PPI. It really feels like that old Apple magic to me.

I am also very disappointed about the lense choice, but I will probably go fo it anyway.

I finally saw the blue in person and it sold me on it. Can’t wait.
I love my blue 12. I would buy a blue mini if i didn't have a blue 12 already.
I am leaning toward a white mini.
i will get a black mini pro next year.

The 12‘s brain automatically applies lens correction to the ultra-wide lens now. Seems to work pretty well FWIW.

I am the same only now have both the 10.5 pro and a mini iPad 5 so I have no need for a large phone. I like a small phone for carrying and at home I use my iPads. My phone use is basic and light, very few apps.

Exactly my thoughts. I typically use my iMac at work and my iPad Pro at home (with the magic keyboard case). I find my iPhone to be my least used device on a daily basis. Still need it for CarPlay and when I am out and about. However, I am not doing anything crazy (computing wise) on my phone which would require a huge screen.

I got smaller hands and would prefer something a bit more portable. Looking forward to the pre-order!

I use my phone for almost everything. I do have an iMac that I use for working from home and for photo editing- but otherwise most of the evening/weekend my phone is all I use for social media, email, web surfing, online shopping, online banking, etc.
But with that being said, I still prefer a smaller phone- my best experience was back when I had a 6S and then a 7. I have since moved to an 8+ which I thought was way too big and awkward to use, and for the last year an 11- which is a great phone, but still seems a bit big to hold onto and use for longer periods of time (especially lugging it around when going out of the house). So for me, the 12 Mini seems absolutely perfect!

must have used it about 5 times on my X 😂

usually just do a quick "take out and shoot", without thinking about it

Dumb question here because I have never done the preorder thing from Apple before, but what time on 11/6 does the preorder go live for these? And what has the experience been with other iPhones- if you are online and ready to submit your order right at the time the preorder goes live, are you usually good to get the first batch that arrives on release day, or do they go so fast that you have to be lucky- and often can still fall back into the later dates?

I’m buying the mini this year and would love a mini pro next year. My ultimate phone is honestly a iPhone fold, the galaxy fold 2 is awesome but I don‘t want to switch from iOS anymore.
For me its not about having the best specs, its about overall balance
I am little worried about 12 Mini battery life
I d prefer sacrifice Pro features over increasing battery size!
Being the cheapest iPhone 12 among all 12 and 12 Pro iPhones, i agree with Apple business strategy

I'm not sure what country you're in, but your relevant Apple website should already be displaying what time the pre-orders will go live. In my experience, if you order as soon as the pre-order goes live then you'll receive it on the release day (it's not nearly as bad as trying to buy a ticket to a really popular concert or sporting event).

I'm in the US, on the west coast. I went to the Apple website and it showed 11/6, but I did not see a time.
Maybe I just did not dig far enough- but I appreciate the answers here!

Thanks for that extra info, too- I envisioned it being like trying to buy those concert tickets you mentioned. haha. I am glad to hear it is not nearly that bad.

I will look forward to the 5AM start to the day next Friday. :)

The excitement for the Mini is going to be paramount in two weeks though.

(I’ve also seen far more complaining than excitement, ha.)
haha I agree.... I am extremely excited about the mini- it'll be a long wait until next friday to place my order. Once I have it secured, I think I will be OK waiting the next few days for delivery. :). (I say that now, but am crazy to think I won't be counting the days at that. point).
