Nice. That’s a glowing review of the mini, from some I would not have expected to be quite so enamored with it.

Apple.com is showing delivery dates for Nov 24-27 (256GB is showing Nov 27-Dec 2) now for the unlocked/sim-free model. I wonder if people are liking what they're seeing from the reviews?

If you have UPS MyChoice you can sign-in and view your tracking number; which most people know. What I just noticed is that you can also get your serial number under "reference number(s)". Then you can go here: http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html and enter your serial number. It'll tell you some information about your 12 mini. Here's what mine shows:

So all the reviewers who make criticisms and anyone who comments on the battery is a hater.
There is nothing wrong with pointing out strengths and weaknesses in a phone. Different people put different weight into different features. Yes the mini has worse battery life than the rest of the 12 lineup but some people (like me) find the smaller size more important than battery life.
Yes the SE 2020 is nearly half the price but to me money isn't a problem and I prefer a larger OLED screen, better camera and new processor - and considerably better battery.

The problem with criticism comes when immature people come into a sub forum with the sole intention of trying to stir up a fight about a phone they have no interest in. Would be nice if people could just grow up and accept that different people have different requirements from a phone - which is why there are so many iPhone models available.

The Mini has a 22% bigger battery than the SE2/iPhone 8. (if the 2227mAh are correct)

hard for me to complain about a battery that is bigger than in any other iPhone at that size :) (well the device is actually even a bit smaller)

Every other iPhone in the 12-line got bigger, but a smaller battery than before ;)

Does anyone know how capacity compares to the X?

Are you part of the 1%?
nope.

im just not dumb enough to buy a phone that has the same notch for the third year. In terms of value ip12 is horrific. couple this with people going to cycle out there batteries in 12 months, there's no point in me buying this phone when im gonna upgrade it next year bc of the ****** battery.

if it had touchID? sure.
if it had 120hz? sure
if it had a smaller notch? sure.

(and I can certainly afford to buy anything I want)

Thanks for calling us all dumb :)

I personally don't see a smaller notch as a reason to upgrade, since it don't notice it at all.
Even 120hz and touchID will not get me to upgrade next year, since i don't need them.

even touchID saw yearly improvements for the first 0-4 years.

FaceID has seen 1 iterative improvement (smaller than any touchID improvement saw from 0-4) at year 1 and has been completely stagnant since.

Who is going from the iPhone 11 Pro (5.8") to the iPhone 12 Mini? Do you feel it worth it and it will be a better phone and why? Thx!

i am in the 12 mini train but I can see great deals for the iPhone 11 Pro (second hand or brand new models in 256gb or even 512gb).

I am. 11 Pro is just too bulky for me. I'm not a phone gamer, don't read a lot on it or watch movies. I just want the smallest possible new phone with a decent camera. Pretty much my only requirements.

I am. Wanted a smaller phone. Have had the big phones. Now ready for something that will fit well in my hand and my pocket. Also, I was interested in the smaller phone, but not one that was stripped down -- mini's internals and screen compare to the 12. That's all I needed to hear. I was sold. (iPhone 5 was my favorite -- so from a design standpoint, I would be happy with any of the 12s, but really liked that they came out with a smaller phone).

Well for people who:
Prefer faceid over touchid
Don't notice the difference between 60hz or promotion (I've got an iPad Pro and sure, it's great but I don't pick up my iPhone and notice any difference)
Don't have a problem with the notch.

And who:
Like the design of the 12 lineup
Want a small phone
Aren't going to hammer the battery
Want an improved camera

Then it probably does offer good value.

And well done you for being able to afford anything you want. 👏👏👏

I got the baltic blue leather case today.
But i might send it back. (Will have to test it with the phone first though)

As someone who always used the X naked, the case seems to add too much bulk and holding it doesn't feel much smaller than the X.

I'm measuring almost 68mm in width.

The X ist 70,9 mm and the Mini 64,2 mm.

So it eats up a lot of the advantage.

I am switching from a iPhone 11, the 6.1’’ is still too heavy and bulky for my pockets. I don’t 3D game on my phone so the battery life will be sufficient for my communication needs.

Catch a glance at this fellow, with his mighty big phone and purchase power! We mini users have so much small phones :(

I’m a little nervous about the concerning reports on the OLED panels being noticeably yellower than previous generations. Some 12’s have the issue and some don’t. Since the mini is a completely different size then maybe it won’t have that yellow effect. My 11 Pro display I’ve had for a year is a cool blue and is perfect. Will need to make sure the minis don’t have the problem as well.

The 11 Pro is away so I’ve been using a 6s we had lying around for the last day or so. I won’t lie, the small keyboard took a bit of getting used-to, but I absolutely love the size of the device. Its so nice and compact - I genuinely don't even notice its in my jeans pocket. Can't wait for the Mini!

I've said multiple times in these forums that I had intended to hold out for another year. And/or wait for the rumored SE Plus.

But the more and more I hear about the 12 Mini, the more I like.

After seeing these reviews, I am severely temped to get one now. My only trepidation is typing on a smaller screen than my 8 Plus (which I moved up from my 6 because I wanted more typing space). Marques Brownlee did mention in his review that typing could be a bit of a challenge. Then again, he has big hands and fingers. Otherwise, I really like the concept of a phone this size. A flagship type phone in a compact enough package that I can easily fit into most any pocket. Something that can still be a bit of a hassle with my 8 Plus.

And seeing some of the photos it takes, it rivals the Pro Max in a lot of conditions apparently. Very impressive for a small(er) phone. Wish it had telephoto, but can't have everything I guess.

Battery life is good enough for what I need. I am not on my phone constantly. And not a gamer or film editor. If I want to watch a show or movie, I just use my iPad instead. So that's not a big issue for me either. And I have a charger at work if I need the extra boost.

I was so set to skip this year. But goshdarnitall, this looks like a very impressive package. Back on the fence now again.

Yeah, to me, although not one handed as I have quite small hands, X and XS were good to hold, even better than f.e. iPhone 11 6.1 . They had normal glass back + stainless steel sides. They were the least slippery ever. But very heavy which really outweighs the least slippery point.

To me at least the 11 Pro Max could not be hold without a case, hell even the normal 11 Pro. It was BIG, HEAVY and had frosted glass. Frosted glass in comparison to glossy glass is amazing to look at but a nightmare to hold caseless. My iPhone 11 6.1. f.e. is good to hold but too big and too heavy to hold it comfortable!

I really don't know if to get Apple Care+ for it. On the one hand, I wanna use it caseless most of the time, and it is small and light, so shouldn't have that risk of dropping. On the other hand maybe this is exactly why it could be dropped more. Too light. I don't know. Only thing I know is I will buy my fave screen protector as soon as it becomes available. My 11 looked horrible after only one week with no keys etc. in my pocket.

Will you all who go caseless buy the AC+ ?

As a general rule (not just on the mini), get a case and get a screen protector from day one! Then over time, few months or so, then decide if you want to go naked.
