Lol. 2 different lines. One work and for a family member that’s very difficult to contact me on and one personal. Separation keeps me sane.

Haha I’m glad I’m not that important. But seriously I would just use Google Voice or something for a second number, and use one device. I can’t imagine having to shuffle around multiple devices. Do you have like a Batman belt to carry them?

I need to reliably receive calls from my important family member’s hospital etc, so google voice isn’t an option. I’ve always liked separating things like that in my life.

No Batman belt lol. iPhone 12 Pro Max in the back pocket, 12 mini in the front when I do go out.

Coming from an X, I have zero problems with the mini’s battery life. And if you do, just get the 20W fast charger for like 20 bucks, and there you go! That’s the benefit of having a smaller battery - way faster charging times 😉 https://www.apple.com/shop/product/...f5526ea53a75e326251d8b4a2eb3297e544cd4b8d6a28
I bought Anker 18w (20w was out of stock at time whereas i ordered), for 10 bucks
Its so small! I love it, really cute design and affordable, i highly recommend it, i grabbed two chargers for the price of official Apple one lol

Ugh hate to do this, but I swapped out my 12 mini for a regular 12. The mini was just a hair too small. I feel that the proportions (or maybe ratios is the right descriptor?) were a bit off being too narrow/tall. While the regular 12 is a bit big for me, it is absolutely the largest I’ll go. I even found the mini difficult to use as a phone handset. The mini did have a better reach for the thumbs, but I’ll have to adapt.

sorry apple. Thanks for taking the shot at the smaller phone.

On the other hand, the full size 12 has simply a terrific screen. Also, as it is at the max size I’m comfortable with, I’m keeping it caseless with a screen protector and maybe a clear wrap so it is not slippery. Apple Care + will take care of any issues outside of that. First caseless iPhone since my old 5C

And the iPhone 12 that replaced the 12 mini goes back to the store to exchange for a 12 pro tomorrow 🤣

I think this is the end of the line for now though. Hopefully silver, but I’ll be fine with blue.

I have been testing the 12 and the mini for a week

Love the mini, really dig it, it feels the perfect size, super comfortable to hold (i have small hands) but text is really small sometimes, and i can feel my eyes suffer a bit

The 12 feels really uncomfortable and heavy by comparison, but has bigger battery and text is way more readable. Although i started experiencing some pain in the arm recently and i think it is probably connected to this heavy phone (i was coming from a 7)

Well, on the Mini I increased the text size to the level next to full... Even on the X/XS I used increased text size, albeit a bit less than on the Mini.

Did the same, but for example some websites (like this forum) will bug a bit if you set the zoom level over 115%

What made you switch again to the pro?
Kids. 4 and 8 years old, and want to keep them there as long as possible. So the added low light camera really was the deciding factor.

ive had the 13 pro since yesterday morning and already miss the light weight of the regular 12 and the 12 mini. The regular 12 took some awesome photos and vids too, so I’m not sure it was entirely necessary. But I’m not going to beat myself up over it. Even if the 12 pro only has marginal low light photoimprovement, it will be worth the extra $150. My long - time service provider is giving me close to $500 in credits over the next 24 billing cycles for a plan that my employer partially pays for, so absorbing the additional cost was minimal. The hardest pill to swallow was the more expensive Apple care + at over $13 per month or $270 outright.

if the $$$ was all coming out of my pocket unsubsidized, I’d stay with the lighter 12 or 12 mini.

I do feel that the 12 pro balances in the hand better, but the extra 1 ounce of weight really is substantial and uncomfortable compared to the light 12 and 12 mini. ( a few days with my grip crusher hand exercizers will fix that) But I’ll never get these times with my boys back, so I’m willing to do what I can to capture the memories in as vivid detail as possible. And the Christmas Eve celebrations with an hours old IPhone 12 Pro have already proven that I made the right choice.:)

one last note.....the graphite 12 pro is a damn sight to behold. What a beautiful piece of industrial art for a mass produced trinket. I wanted silver, but this thing has its own monolithic presence.

But just the Max has better low light capabilities with the wide camera.

The normal pro has the same wide and ultra wide as the 12 and mini models

I do the same.. I don't want my messages and pictures and files from work in my personal phone.. I would never change that

Wow guys! I'm on the mini train! Popped in the Verizon sim and everything works!
The yellow screen from True Tone-on actually makes photos closer to the real life color, which is great! (Yellower screen might be better for eyes anyways.)

can't wait to test battery life over the next few days.

I was able to pull up a black image and when I turned screen on and off I saw no difference in a pitch black room. So OLED for the win!

color reproduction seems to be uniform throughout the entire screen.

happiest that the Verizon worked by switching from old phone! I was worried about that. We'll see how the bill comes out in a month.... hopefully no surprises....

AND! Best of all: I don't get PWM nausea or any major heavy headaches.

oh.... and I have 40GB of free space after stepping up from 32 GB iPhone 7. Yahoo!

Anyways, just throwing in a comment that so far these six hours have been great!

I'll come back and update if I do develop headaches or see issues with screen.

I'll also post battery usage here or in another thread if there's a better one.

Max simply is too bulky.

Correct, but the 12 Pro still has some photographic advantages over the 12 with optical zoom, stabilization, speed and possibly certain future advantages from Lidar (interior redesigns of my residence). I may have been distracted earlier when specifying any low light advantages (which I do believe the 12 pro still has over the 12 in terms of speed, which I feel matters with my often hyperactive subjects )

I do believe that the regular 12 or 12 mini would have had met my needs without issue. But given the marginal price increase, I’d rather overbuy slightly and not have to deal with the fear of missing out, so the 12 pro was the compromise since I’d absolutely hate lugging a 12PM around.

12 Pro is an easy choice, especially if you need more than 64 gigs. Then it is a no brainer.

Only if you care about the extra camera features. Personally, I'd rather spend the $250 on something else ($800 AT&T trade in credit with 12, $700 with 12 Pro).

Mind, I recently had the chance to compare an iPhone 7 Plus side by side with the iPhone 12 Pro Max. They're practically the same size so now I'm thinking I should've just gotten that one instead of the 12.

Better/Different build, screens specs, camera, LIDAR - But I fully understand, but when you are spending 1000 dollars, why not go all in. Especially if you are thinking about selling in 1-2 years for an upgrade. Regular 12 is like the middle child you do not know what to make of. 128 GB should've been base storage on all 12s.

Those simply aren't things we care about plus the heavier weight is actually a con, not a pro. And heck, I can buy an iPad or Apple Watch with that $250. AirPods with $150.

The one thing I do find really attractive on the Pros is the matte finish but that's kinda wasted since we always put our phones in cases.

But yeah, should've just been 128GB base across the board.

I absolutely agree, but some people would see things the other way around.

Personally, I could manage easily with a 2020 SE, though I can appreciate the more expensive options.

Lol, I do use the SE2. I personally want the iPhone 12 Mini but I have issues with Linux USB tethering on iOS 14. Hence, I'm sticking to the SE2 + iOS 13.7 for now. I prefer smaller phones. If I want a bigger display, the LTE iPad is always in my purse.

The iPhone 12 is for a family member (basically, almost free upgrade from XR which replaced a 6+). If I had known the 12 Pro Max was the almost same size as the 6+, I would've just gotten that instead. The extra screen real estate on that would actually be helpful to the user.

I can easily see how some people might prefer the iPhone Pros. I just don't think it's a no brainer in all situations even if one needed 128-256GB. $150-250 difference is still $150-250 and people might have other better uses for that.

Interesting twist... gave my wife her 12 mini for Christmas and after using it for a while she decided it was too small. Didn’t see that coming ha

Returning it today and grabbing her a regular 12.

I'm in the same situation myself, as a guy. I've been talking all year about the 12 mini. Now that I've held it, I'm starting to think I will be better off with the regular?

I don't know, the screen just feels so much smaller than the 5.8" I'm coming from.

On the other hand, I have an iPad for the big screen - but battery life is always a nice-to-have and the iPad isn't always with me.

Someone who has/had both - I would appreciate your feedback.
