I tried to get a 6S+ yesterday but the three places I went to didn't have any in stock. I'm going to call around today, but I doubt I find one.

Peek and pop and Live Photos are definite gimmicks. Like MKBHD mentioned, it's just a demo for what 3D Touch can do. I hope developers can fully harness its full potential. After using my 6s+ for about a week, the best feature is definitely the combination of iOS 9, battery life and processor. Apps run so smooth on it and the battery life I get from it is amazing!

Took my iPhone 6s+ off charger at 8am. Left it in my book-bag until after work at 6:30pm still at freaking 100%! Used it through out the evening and this morning and it's at 23% now with over 6 hours of on screen time.

My Note 5 which I used during the day lightly yesterday, only has about 32% battery left with less that 2hrs of screen time. At night I put in on airplane mode and the battery still depleted.

Where have I said 3D Touch is perfect? And I'm not giving them 'a pass'--no rosy reviews full of nothing but praise from me. I've acknowledged in numerous posts it has some clear weaknesses--opinions we have in common (customization, previewing mail messages) but I just don't think it's as doom and gloom as you're making it out to be. You're categorically classifying it a terrible implementation because of the inclusion of Beats 1 radio on Music and no implementation on another app--2 pretty specific incidents. I can give you a dozen ways that I already use it daily that have improved my use case or workflow. Does that make either of our opinions more valid than the other? Of course not.

Yes, customization would be awesome but you and I both have no idea what's involved in implementing that and assuming it's a simple change is just being naive. Plus, I'd wager they probably tested out various ways to customize in their labs during development but weren't happy with the initial results. Adjusting to 3D Touch is one of the biggest changes they've implemented on the iPhone in quite a while. Add a bunch of customization options on top and customer's (re: the avg iPhone customer, not you or I) might be overwhelmed.

Apple certainly has a history of trickling out new features/functionality and this is likely no different. Very rarely is anything released that is fully functional--not an excuse for Apple but it's pretty clear that's how they do business, like it or not. It's certainly fair for you to have the opinion that 3DT doesn't offer as much to you as it does to others like myself but I think we should wait more than 1 week before categorically labeling it, failure or success. I'm cautiously optimistic. If come WWDC in June when iOS 10 is likely announced (only 8 months from now) and we still little in the way of improvement, I'll be more vocal with my criticism.
Sorry Tbayrgs....but I think you re making excuses for them. Its not just the music or weather apps either. It is the implementation across the OS. But lets look at the Apple's own weather app. I have 4 locations I frequent to go hiking and off roading and my home town. The locations and their weather are saved in the weather app. Now I try to use 3DT and get nothing. Why? This is Apple's own app. How much more time do the they need for their own app?
Can't blame it on a developer that hasn't had access to the software code. It's Apple own stuff.
So using 3DT is a hit or miss venture at best. I never know when an app will work or when it won't. That goes for Apples own built in app that they should have had enough time to get it right.
Then when it does work it doesn't always give useful options. Right now 3DT just adds a level of complexity to the user experience since it has not been implemented very well across all apps.
Making excuses for them or saying lets wait a year or two is laughable.
If this were any other company but Apple....i think you would not be so kind.

It seems we are not going to agree on this so we can agree to disagree :)

Peek and pop may be a gimmick to some but it allows for much easier one handed use on the Plus. Now with reach ability, the new 3D multitasking shortcut, and the keyboards 3D selecting shortcut, I'm finding myself using the iPhone 6 Plus completely one handed much more often then I did with the 6 plus.

Battery life, smoothness and the apps along with syncing is why I'm glad I got 6s plus

Battery life is insane coming from s6 edge. Not one day have I not got at least 24 hours standby. Most days it's over 30 hours per charge and that's with at least 12-14 hours usage.

Battery life is one of the reasons I want the 6s+. Because of poor reception at work I doubt I get what your getting, but it should be a lot better than my 6.

I've been playing around with 3D Touch. There is a lot of potential for this fledging technology. Biggest single use; peek at links from safari. I would like to see it evolve into a right-click but who knows.

Any comments on the battery on the regular 6s? I really don't want to get the plus :-/

I know it is difficult to report usage on iOS. Mkbhd talked a little bit about it. People seem to say it gets through the day. Does that mean you're charging at 8pm, or when you go to sleep?

When I had a iPhone 6 before my Plus I'd get through the day no hassle but would be down to around 20% compared to my iPhone 6 Plus where I can end the day at 60%

Light to moderate use shouldn't pose a big problem, but heavy use then yes you may be topping up in the evening.

Either way with either device use the iPad charger. It charges my 6 Plus as quick as the turbo charger charges my Note 5/6 Edge +

If one is a heavy user and much prefers the size of the 6s a battery pack is a cheap, small and very lightweight solution.

The Plus gets better life yes but it is bigger, heavier, a bit unweilding and not the easiest to carry around when not in use.

iPad charger... Is this safe? I.e. no fine print regarding sudden spontaneous combustion in my sleep?

Very strange. Have you tried rebooting or maybe popping sim out and then back in.

If that doesn't work you could try the 'reset settings' and restore the settings to default (doesn't remove any user content) and see if that fixes it.

Reboot didn't help. I'll reset the settings.

Nope. He's had a LGG3 for over a year

Can you test by sending a text to another non-iPhone, confirm it's not that specific user's phone? Also, he 'send as SMS' box is checked under Messages settings, correct?

Just switched from a 6s to a 6s plus.
Battery life was impressive for such a tiny device. You wouldn't need to charge it by 8pm, but you would need to use low power mode. The 6 plus's battery is a beast though.

Your going to love Touch ID 2, it's so fast an accurate. And With 2gb of lpddr4 ram and Apples new memory controller, the iPhone 6s/plus really flys.

Yeah they basically put laptop like power in it. It's impressive.

Yes but the MacBooks memory controllers are at least two or three years ahead of the competition. And Apple decided to put that into the 6s/plus. That's insane.

I know. Anandtech basically said everyone is playing catchup for a while. It's amazing how powerful the new iPhone is, yet Apple doesn't really tout all the tech because they most likely feel it's not as important as the user experience.

The iPhone 6S Plus is way too large for a 5.5" device. It's funny when you compare other 5.5" devices next to the 6 Plus, look at the LG G3 next to the 6 Plus, it's a frigging joke, they both have the exact same size screen.

I think the lg G3 is an ugly phone compared to the iPhone 6 Plus. It's also noticeably thicker. Lg had to increase the depth of The G4 and it feels like a brick in the hand.

Personally, I like the bezels on the iPhone, whenever I'm using the phone in landscape, The bezels provide a comfortable area to hold the phone without obscuring the display.
