True but many of us here with are serial buyers and upgraders must also remember others may not be in as fortunate positions in order to do same and show equal understanding & respect.

That being said it's clear this is just a case of misunderstanding and no offence was meant between either parties. Now shake hands, eat some cake and let's move on :) :)

Any pictures of cakes on your phone to share :)?

I feel as if we need to arrange for a group hug now:D

How about we man it up a little and get a group Haka going, eh?

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Had a Z5 Compact for about a week and the camera software is a mess. It was constantly crashing, took a long time to load sometimes and when it did work I felt pictures had way too much blur and artifacts. Autofocus seemed to focus on the wrong thing often. I'm sure Sony will fix it in the upcoming update but I really would not place much value on that DxO site considering they can't even make graphs.

iPhones have always had some of the best camera software even though the cameras themselves are maybe not the best available. I was bummed that OIS was not available on the iPhone 6S and hope that it will be a standard feature on the 7.

PS. MRU, your photos look amazing.

Thanks for the comment on the Xperia's issues. Although it sounds software driven possibly which Sony could fix.

Yeah I hope so as otherwise the phones would be quite nice. The camera software for sure but I hope they are able to do something about the OS lagging and the phone running hot when they release the Android M update.

I am really looking forward to having the mute switch back on the side of the phone! The new discrete system in Marshmallow is confusing and I don't like it. I set it up and realised it was not even vibrating for any messages of calls, so have turned it all off and gone back to simply turning the volume down.

The physical mute switch is indispensable, and I'm always surprised at how much I miss it when I switch to another phone.

Yeah, I'm very surprised how few phones have this. The only other phone I remember having this that I owned was the palm pre.

My 6S+ arrived. 3D Touch sensitivity is taking some getting used to.

Since you have the 6s Plus and Moto X Style, I would appreciate your thoughts on how they compare and contrast. If you've already done so, please point me to it.

Or begin another thread if you prefer. Even though I like my 6s and the Apple ecosystem, I'm still attracted to the Moto X Pure.

Thanks.

No bother.

I have the white & champagne gold Style. The gold is subtle, much more so than either Apple or Samsung's recent gold offerings. The device is a slightly narrower and a little shorter than the iPhone 6S Plus. It's also lighter albeit by a few grams.

The pure is thicker than recent flagships at its thickest curved part but surprisingly in an never ending race to make thinner devices the pronounced curved and the obligatory Moto X dimple actually offer a far greater ergonomic feel in the hand than either the Note 5, S6 Edge + and iPhone 6S Plus. It has a balance in your hand that the others often lack.

The QHD display has shifted from Amoled to LCD and whilst some may lament this, I actually do not mind as beyond a shadow of doubt it's the best screen Moto have used in a phone. Whilst black is not as black as on an amoled due to backlighting entire screen the fact remains this is the sharpest, most accurately colour balanced and still remains extra Amoled saturated colour wise (should you want that Amoled saturation).

I tune the saturation down a notch in the display settings and looking at the same image on all my phablets there is a consistency between it and the IPhone 6S and Samsung devices (who I always set to either Amoled Photo or Basic for greater colour accuracy).

I had read that the Style/Pure's screen had poorer viewing angles and whilst this is possibly true the difference in my experience has been very small and almost negligible.

Both it and the iPhone 6S and the Samsung's offer excellent viewing angles and importantly for me there is also a parity in outdoor visibility. The new style matches the others and I have no trouble using any of them outdoors. Whilst it doesn't compensate like Samsung's devices boosting contrast and saturation to achieve this, it boosts brightness like the iPhone 6S which given my penchant for more colour accuracy I prefer its approach. But the fact all can be seen in outdoor sunlight is great.

Camera wise Moto have stepped up enormously this year, the new camera is very good let down by Moto's software which is simply not as intuitive as Apple's or as advanced as Samsung's. I use the Moto's focus finder and use the volume button to snap photos rather than the tap anywhere on screen method Moto employs by default. Picture quality and colour accuracy between all these devices are similar and in any given scenario shooting the subjects I normally shoot, any one of them could shoot the better image. Low light may be different but I don't shoot photos in that situation. Personally and it can't be emphasised enough here, I would be happy to take any of these phablets out with me to snap photos.

Battery life, well the iPhone 6S Plus (even with the Samsung chip) is still the champ here. Without clear stats but based on enough experience comparing battery percentage doing same tasks the iPhone would routinely give me 6-7 hours SOT and it's consistent. That consistency I find is something always missing in my Android devices.

The Note 5 & S6 Edge generally mixed usage / lots of calls / cellular activity and wifi mixed - give me anything between 3-4 hours in a normal day, however I have seen that as low as 2.5 SOT and as high as 5 hours SOT on random days.

It's a similar situation with the Moto X style, I'm getting around 3-4 hours SOT on average but again it's not as consistent as iOS and have seen that stretch to just over 4 hours and to slightly less than 3 on other occasions.

All devices generally last me regardless but the iPhone is the better until it comes to charging.

Here the X Style with its turbo charger is faster than either the Note 5/Samsung devices charging my Style from 3% to full in just a fraction over an hour. The Note 5/S6 Edge would take 15-20 mins longer on their fast charging at 75-85 mins to fully charge from empty. The iPhone 6S plus with the faster iPad charger will do 100% in around 80-95 mins.

Software - I'm not going to compare Android to iOS. There's no point, everyone should know the differences and if not a Google search or YouTube search will better yield more info. That being said I've always enjoyed both approaches to OS and I see a lot of similarity to the end goals even if the approach is coming from different sides.

Essentially any of these flagships are great phones. The best part of the Moto X Style / Pure experience however has to be the entry fee which at nearly 50% of the iPhone 6S plus makes it very good value. It may be close to half the price but it certainly isn't half the phone.

Yes I only know of the iPhone, Palm Pre and the One Plus Two having a mute switch. All older phones had it on their keypads, I think you just held down one of the numbers! But for some reason smart phones apart from those mentioned haven't included the feature?

So much easier to just flip a switch.

Thanks much for that. I finally got the 6s and have this week to decide whether to keep it. I keep a phone for a long time, and the easy integration of iPhone, iPad Air, and rMBP has me spending the extra cash for the iPhone. Were it not for that, I would probably go for the Moto X Pure.

Yes integration wise if you are a Mac user and iPad owner, the iPhone is a good fit especially if you use the handoff and continuity features.

Tough choice, personally speaking I'll be keeping my Moto X Style and iPhone. It will be the Samsung devices that I will sell / trade on when I want to try something different / new.

Picked up my 64gig space grey 6S on sunday and been getting acclimated. lucked out on the tsmc chip too :D I was worried about the notification center, coming from android, and I've found it just fine. It is the intangibles that grab me the most, the way it 'feels'. (especially with the cydia tweak 'fascy' that increases scrolling acceleration - just feels awesome)

The camera is excellent at grabbing well focused pics of my never-stops-moving 18 month old son. With 2 gigs of ram apps really hardly ever reloads, if at all.

Really my only desire is to have the ability to get notifications and respond to texts via my work PC (like pushbullet or continuity), but I knew that coming into this. I will welcome the sacrifice given jailbroken iOS squashes nearly every problem I have with android.

I wish swiping was integrated into the stock keyboard, swiftkey does not seem to be as good at swiping as google keyboard and I have come to love one handed swipe-typing.

I know people love to hate on the battery life of the regular 6S, but I have been pleased. I am not a heavy user (upper moderate maybe?), but I've been using it as much as I can and it is getting through the day. ~7:15am-11:30pm

Thing costs a fortune, but it really is awesome - cheers

Ah: And I'm really digging the outlook app for mail. Can use attachments from an assortment of cloud providers, unified inbox, exchange account sandbox(wiping your phone from exchange will just wipe your outlook data, not the entire phone). Ticks all my boxes. I was using Nine on android.

Curious, did you buy it directly from a Apple Store or from your carrier?

Big fan of Outlook as well...has the quick swipe actions available in mail.app with a whole bunch of added functionality. Like Microsoft's calendar app as well, Sunrise. Makes me chuckle thinking my preferred apps are from Microsoft on an Apple device but gotta give them credit, they're offering quality apps.

IPhone 6S Silver and White 64GB order has been placed. Now to pick a case, Brodit holder and extra charging lead.

Be interesting to see how good it is as Android 6 doesn't mute the volume properly and my Nexus 5 randomly disconnects from Bluetooth in my car for no reason, it is a buggy OS for sure...

I also couldn't care less what chip I get!
