Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
So I got my iPhone today :D

It's very nicely made, a lil heavy. Great screen, so easy to setup, fast, great touch ID integration. Installing all the apps I want at the mo.
My Apple case from Apple is being sent by snail mail though, thanks Apple! Got a blue leather one. Still excited to get an iPod Touch too for Christmas.

It's a very very very very nice size too!!! It really really reminds me of the excellent Note 5, but in a nice compact form.

Quick tip.

Settings - General - Accessibility - Reduce Motion

Does away with overly long animations and replaced them with 60fps cross fade and it makes iOS so much snappier feeling.

I dislike the eye candy, been turning it off since windows xp in 2001. If I could turn off all animations, I would. o_O

I turned that reduced motion on but haven't noticed much difference. I'll leave it on though. The phone needs a case though haha, it's like an eel! Slippery, liking it though. It's definitely more my size of phone haha.

I'm digging the size too. I'm not hurting over the change from 5.0" to 4.7". Agreed on the slipperyness - I picked up the apple blue leather case too - good stuff! My pops bought a 6s too, coming from a naked 5, and he was going to go naked again! way to slippery, I bullied him into looking for a case :p

I decided against a screen protector, hopefully I dont come to regret it

I have lag on my iPhone 6s Plus. There is a lot of people with the same problem/observation. There is a whole thread on here on MR and a user video here:
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...g-serious-issue.1921141/page-46#post-22131526
Confused.. Where is the lag in the 2nd video ? In video 2 i just see an iPhone unlocking and in status bar it connects to the users WiFi but doesn't at any point demonstrate any thing we would associate lag to ...

I have had a few hiccups with ios 9 with rotation on homescreen getting stuck in landscape but seems to be fixed with 9.1 though.

My iPad and iPhone both get stuck in screen rotation as well. Sometimes it takes a few trys for it to correct itself or turning the screen off several times.
I also get home screen lag/hesitation from time to time when waking the devices up. Both devices are already on IOS 9.1.
That's not my video.......

I know its not your video - I just was asking if you could see what they were supposed to be demonstrating in it ?

I can't see it now. My work blocks videos like that through our proxy servers. Even embedded ones.

Agreed. If that is what is now considered lag and bothers people, they need to stop obsessing about their smartphones and get a different hobby. o_O

UPDATE: I went a few pages back to browse through some of the other posts in that thread and another poster included a couple of brief videos--his complaint was that there was lag in his status bar after unlocking--even returned his phone because of it.

While I don't discount some people are certainly experiencing some issues, I really have to take a lot of these complaints with a grain of salt. So much 'the sky is falling' complaints for the most minute issues, if issues at all. The stuff people are perseverating about is absolutely ridiculous in many cases. Time to put the phones down people and relax a bit. And this goes across all platforms. I hear 'my phone lags horribly' on any of the newer flagships and I going to have a hard time believe it, considering how well I've seen phones actually perform.

the person that posted the video said he was going to post it again and that it didn't come out right. But he is not the only one complain about lag and hesitation. The thread is 46 pages deep already.

Yeah, and a lot of it is garbage like this. I can't take complaints like this seriously.

lol...I will bet some of it is. But you can't discount or write off the whole thread from that one poster. Did you read the rest of them or just write the whole thing off?

edit:Saw your edit after I posted this.

Nope, as I mentioned, I'm not categorically discounting all complaints...there will obviously be issues. We are talking about probably something like 20 million devices sold at this point (just my guess considering the 13 mill from the launch weekend). In the grand scheme of things, a 1000+ post thread from dozens of posters doesn't portray the end of the world. But when in the first 3 pages I read I immediately see a few instances of pure nonsense, it's difficult to take a lot of it seriously. Let's face it, forum members here are not your typical smartphone consumer. ;)

I haven't said or heard anyone say it was the end of the world. Equating it to that is non sense. And no Apple is not doomed. I have lag on my ipad and iphone. My guess it is due to the latest IOS updates and will be silently fixed soon.

Quick one, well two haha.

How can I set it in the mail app so when I swipe it will delete the message, not go to a screen to select to move the email to the bin?

And how can I set it so when the mute switch is on it mutes all sounds including emails etc and instead vibrates the phone?

Thanks :)

Not sure what you mean on one. For 2, go to settings, sound, and then turn off "Vibrate on Silent"
