The plus is a far better looking phone than the pro max and is available in nicer colours. It has a much better design. It’s lighter too. And it doesn’t suffer from heat gate
That is clearly a matter of individual opinion, and I strongly disagree with everything you said except that yes the plus is 20 grams lighter. Y'all enjoy last year's chip and saving a few bucks.

It only happens with the Pro Max though, is the point:

Just to correct you. It’s happened to ONE pro max. If this was a real problem, this forum would be flooded with comments and photos of their actual pro max’s broken. Not sharing the same JerryRig video.

feel free to share the posts of MR members experiencing this PM breaking just by looking at it.

This was about what happens under strong force (“bending it as hard as you can”, see upthread), not “just by looking at it”, and it seems that the Pro Max specifically is less robust here than the other three models.

If you think that’s of no interest, or that it differs wildly from one Pro Max to the next, be my guest.

Yes, it is absurd to be “bending it as hard as you can” and hence of no interest.

I imagine one can break it with a good whack from a framing hammer too. Let's use yours and make another silly meaningless video.

Definitely of no interest. How can it be of interest to anyone as it means nothing? I’ve seen more videos of people trying to bend them and failing to break the glass than I have of them being broken.

Well, we don't know that the Pro Max specifically is less robust. It was a sample size of one.

so got really excited about finally upgrading my iPhone SE 2020 model, ordered the 15 Pro Max in black.......

then all the reviews started scaring me, they get HOT [probably a software fix will have to be implemented to throttle these to alleviate heat issues with processor and titanium rails] and they SCRATCH/SHATTER if you look @ them, and performance wise they are not all that compared to the 14 Pro Max they are replacing>

sure if you wanto shoot video direct to USB SSD it may be a reason to buy one of these new toys.... but for anyone else looking to upgrade from earlier iPhones the 15 Plus is the choice I would and have made, so I sent the "Pro Max" back!!!

very happy with this thing and the battery lasts FOREVER, its lighter than the "Pro Max", the back glass doesn't shatter as easily as the "Pro Max" and the finish doesn't chip off like the new ahem superior "titanium" nor does it want to spontaneously combust with normal use!!!!!

"Pro Max" my *SS !!!
No one in there right mind will go from a 15 PM to Plus having a choice. This is a case of not wanting to pay the extra money for the PM or not really being able to actually afford it. Justify or argue until you are blue in the face with the Plus. Won’t convince me one bit and many others.

I have the money
I had a pro max on order
my last 2 phones were pro max’s

and I cancelled the max for the plus for a single reason

I picked the 15 Plus over the Pro Max. It is 20 grams lighter. Which is a lot. My previous iPhone was a 14 Pro. I can't see ProMotion. The only thing I miss is the always-on display. Otherwise I absolutely love my 15 Plus.

I am not no-one and i have made that choice!

Your judgements are entertaining but not founded in reality as I can afford to buy 10 Pro Max phones a week in perpetuity should i so choose!
(Happy to wait for a 16 Pro Max or whatever that is actually an upgrade worth purchasing)
until then the plus will do me fine;

i only upgrade every few years as i actually have a life!

Your opening sentence “No one in their right mind would blah blah ” is a great piece of insight 🥴 thanks web psychologist -

no-one wants to convince you of anything, its not all about you!

Yep, you bet! Who here would choose a 15 Plus over a 15 PM if it was free? I mean, because money don’t matter here right Mr. Flex? 💪 Stop the presses! He also has a life here ladies and gentlemen that others don’t. It’s just about him.

Silly post. So you send things back based on click-bait day one sensationalism reviews and feel compelled to share your belief in said day one click-bait with us and diss what many of us know from actually using it is a really good phone. Sheesh.
My 15 Pro max hasn’t performed any differently than my 14 pro max regarding heat. And breakage, don’t see anything different from previous iPhones that are basically a glass sandwich. Too bad so many people fall for this misinformed sensationalist news.

You had a SE2020 and then ordered a 15PM, but then got scared because of the reviews of people looking at their phones and they cracked so you then returned it and ordered a 15 Plus.

But……you can afford 10 Pro Maxs a week if you wanted???

Both the 15 Plus and 15 Pro Max are pretty much $1000+ phones (after tax and incidentals). I don't think the $200 price difference is a great deterrent for anyone considering these devices.

The extra telephoto lens and the 15 Plus still having USB2 speed (really Apple?) made me choose the 15PM. However, I would've much preferred the weight of the 15 Plus and the aluminum chassis is more tried and tested.

Thus far, we haven't noticed any overheating issues with the 15PM. *knock on wood*

That said, now that I've actually tried the telephoto on the 15PM, it doesn't seem to be all that good. Seems like I'm still going to need carry a DSLR/mirrorless camera.

My experience mirrors yours. This year's iPhones are a letdown—overpriced and underwhelming. If the Plus had a 120Hz display, always-on feature, and macro capabilities at $800, iPhones would dominate, giving Android a tough time. Testing the 15 Plus, its battery life is insane; sold my 14 PM last week—hated the battery life of that thing and I had to charge it twice per day. With the 15 plus I comeback home with 40% remaining. It’s like a dream 😂 .
Despite the Plus being light, I might switch to the 15 PM; the Plus 256GB isn't worth it given its price proximity to the 15 PM 256GB.
