What I mean is, I do not know the extent of the issue, if there even is an issue, just what was reported in the article. So, what I “think” is what I read in the article, could be more of an issue, could be less, could be no issue. But if someone has a 5, N or not, it’s probably a good idea to research the issue, since it is brake related.

What I’ve read about 1,559 cars affected and recall was supposed to have been delivered by this week.reportedly a SW issue with this specific track mode, nothing with the brakes

Struggling to think why you wouldn’t always just open the boot (what we call a trunk) all the way all the time.
Sounds like a solution to a problem I never knew I had.

To be honest, that is quite cool. At our city flat we have underground parking and I have to manually stop the boot/trunk from fully opening as it would hit either concrete or trunking. And if I reverse into our garage at home, our garage door opener is exactly there where my Porsche opens the trunk.

So yes, I have two locations where I'd love that.

Mainly for those times when tailgates / hatches can open quite high and you have a low garage roof, prevents impacts.

Quite a lot of cars have that feature - you open the tailgate to the desired height and hold down the button, wait for the chime and the maximum opening level is set.

It's one of those features that can be very useful if you need it or just irrelevant. I'm on the irrelevant side but can understand it's appeal particularly combined with GPS (and Tesla's can also do that with the side mirrors).

The matrix is one of those few exemples where we got something first in Europe. Last year if I remember correctly. It's nice and noticeable. You will enjoy it. I had just recently got the car and Tesla dropped a 2000 euro option on my lap. It felt awesome.

So all in all a bit underwhelming update but at the same time there aren't that much of those low hanging fruits. Still it's amazing that only now are we getting and "avoid highways" feature.

Given how often I’ve parked my car in a garage I can see why I didn’t think about that. I have quite a large (by UK standards) single garage, but it’s full of this and that.
 
I have a sedan so this problem doesn't affect me, but on the flip side large loads (eg longer IKEA flat-pack boxes) need some clever thought to fit them inside.

I cannot open my TMY boot all the way in my garage. So, I have it set to only open to a certain height everywhere, which at 6'2" is a pain. The benefit for me, is I can set my home-based height via GPS, then any other location I can have it open all the way. So now I can make use of the full opening height, which I have never been able to since I purchased it and drove it home.

I go to the grocery store, and have to bend lower to load groceries, all because when I get home it can't open all the way. The other option previously was I would have had to manually push the boot open all the way every time I wanted it higher or remember to stop it before it hit the ceiling every time at home.

I added a carbon fiber spoiler and had to lower the home-height even lower (another inch and a half or so) a couple months back. I didn't even think about it, until I heard the spoiler hit my ceiling...

It is my understanding that even though other locations had Matrix headlights, there was some improvements to the software to reduce road sign reflection false positives. But since I've never had it, I won't be able to personally confirm it. So, maybe you can be on the lookout to see if you notice any improvements with the behavior.

I am the type of person who wants to get on the highway as much as possible, so the avoid highways option is likely something I will never use, but it is nice that they added it. A feature I would like is something like "prefer highways". For example, coming home from my grocery store I like to get on the highway is even though it is more distance, it is quicker because of one particular light that takes FOREVER to change on the local roads. I use FSDs most of the time, so the route guidance is a very important. When I use the UI to select alternative options it typically seems to prefer local streets by giving me 3 local options, so the highway option doesn't show up until I take over and make the turn onto the highway onramp. Then it reroutes properly. But this causes me to have to disengage FSDs.

I use FSDs a lot, 99% of the disengagements are because of route selection.

My TM3 can fully open the truck/boot in my garage (my wife parks outside anyway). This is definitely a feature more focused on TMS (hatchback), TMX and TMY. If the TM3 truck is at risk of hitting a ceiling, most people wouldn't be able to stand up :p.

You can also now select route preference (faster, fewer stops, best amenities). And there is an option to keep 12v powered when the car is off (you don't even have to have Sentry enabled).

Yup. There were a few other goodies included. I really only focused on the big potentially showstoppers. But it is good that people like you bring up things that can be important to others. Thanks!

The Keep 12v powered is important to people who use devices they want to keep running. Up until a recent update keeping Sentry mode on kept them live, but this stopped. I think it was in the Holiday update. Now you can keep your plug in fridges, or other things powered by choice. I have a radar detector, I was happy it turned off with the Holiday update, I'm glad they brought it back by option.

One of the "hidden benefits" of my Tesla Model 3 being a sedan is that it keeps me from buying things. I tried to get a couple chairs and a small table into it for my courtyard. No way, no how, no matter what angle, just missing. Will definitely consider the Y next time and maybe take advantage of that adjustable trunk height.

My BMW i3 is surprisingly roomy with the seats down, but I do miss my Golf when I have stuff to move.
 
Got the spring update. Looking forward to how the adaptive matrix headlights work. I never used the auto high beams because I found the number of times it would have false changes to low beams to be ridiculous/annoying, but I imagine even if it remains, it should be less annoying as those false changes will now only be localized to where the car thinks there is an oncoming vehicle.

I can't tell if it was working this morning on my commute in. The Auto symbol was there for High Beams, it was grey the entire time and never went blue like it did when auto high beams came on prior to this update. I think I did see things moving, and I think I noticed areas light up that typically wouldn't see. A couple times I did pull the high beam stalk to see if there was a difference and there always was.

So, I guess time will tell.

I had to go to a darker road. I incorrectly assumed that anywhere that used to trigger auto high beams would trigger the matrix adaptive high beams. Tesla definitely went more conservative with this. I played around with the adaptive lights switch, and I can see that even without highs on, there is some low beam adaptive functionality, but it is definitely different vs the high beam matrix functionality. Here is a quick gif I made with the matrix high beams working on a 2-lane country road with an oncoming car.
