I’m going to upgrade from first to second generation but until Christmas time.
Wallet got thin all the sudden after getting the pro max 14 and Watch ultra 🤣 🤣

I wasn't planning on upgrading since I also have APMs as well, but the battery is starting to suffer a bit on my 1st gen APP. Order placed for 9/23 delivery.

I will upgrade if they don't suffer the same rattle problems that has plagued the 1st gen, I have had my left one replaced once and right twice and I need to get another replacement because both transparency mode and ANC are awful in my right one (again)

Similar here - been in 3 times now for this, had both replaced just a couple weeks ago. Hoping fixed the root cause of these issues in the version 2.

These are a pretty useful device for work calls for me and I'm willing to deal with having to have them serviced every year or so if need be. For the most part it's painless but a bit annoying to have to make 2 trips to the Apple store for a single replacement.

Agreed as annoying as it has been to deal with replacements with the multitude of Apple devices it really does make things easier, automatic switching isn’t quite 100% but I would say for me it’s a solid 90% and that’s hard to beat

I thought I was going to upgrade from my AirPods Pro to the Pro 2. I’m second guessing myself now, mostly because I think maybe I’d like my Pro to really lose enough re-charging capabilities before putting money for a Pro 2. For many things, my Pro is good enough even with its now diminished charging capacity.

I am interested in the supposedly 2x better noise reduction, but I guess I don’t need to hurry and can wait for other people to review and report on really how much better the noise reduction is compared to the Pro.

Instabuy.

Better ANC, better battery life + handy volume control.

Couldn’t give a monkeys about lossless. The tangible difference in a likely not-ideal listening environment using tiny earbuds? Imperceptible, you’ll never convince me otherwise.
Yeah, it has been a rather curious expression that some folks have regarding the lack of lossless audio. Maybe there really is a big enough group of people using small earbuds for their professional music activities that not having lossless matters? I don’t fully believe that but am willing to be proven wrong.

Already sold my gen 1 and have my gen 2 ordered from Amazon.

The moved vent should hopefully resolve the issues with the gen 1. Can’t believe anyone thought putting a vent with a tight grill inside peoples ears was a good idea in the first place.

Though not sure how the Beats Fit Pro get away with no grills, they sound similar with similar ANC as the gen 1.

I started with Apple Store app then switched to BB after taking in one of my APP1s for $55 trade-in. Among the advantages of using BB is finding a way to avoid tax + getting Apple Care for free.

Only feature that sounds great to me is adaptive transparency, but for the limited use i give my AirPods i m s kipping.
wish the max got this as a SW update but oh well

the new AirPods don’t have lossless anyway so you’re safe

Better ANC sealed the deal for me. Claims of 2x better are quite bold. If true I may cease to keep my Sony XM4s in my work bag, which would be nice as I carry it around a lot and it’s packed full. I’m skeptical about the 2x claims though.
I did the same - I ordered the AirPod pro 2 in hopes of my XM5’s coming out of my workbag

1st Gen didn’t feel great in my ears so they went back - let’s hope Gen 2 with the XS ear tips is better 🤞🏻

Some have had luck with third-party foam tips.

I'll be upgrading in a few months. My first gen Pros are definitely starting to take a nose dive. I've already had both buds replaced. Now the case itself is being wonky. I'm really digging all the new features announced for the new ones.

I would miss the message of “please don’t talk to me” that I get when wearing big headphones that you just don’t get with AirPods. Im not antisocial, but when Im having my lunch I do NOT want to spend my time inevitably moaning about work/so & so, and the Sony’s give off a suitably solitary vibe 🤣

Got the AirPods 3 last year, but very tempted by the AirPods Pro 2, mainly for the noise cancelling. The price is pretty close to a pair of discounted Sony XM1004 though.

Yeah I’m going from the Pro gen ones to the Pro gen 2’s. I had the AirPod pros since launch day three years ago and I’ve gone through eight sets. They had to constantly be replaced because of noise cancellation failure and crackling. The last set I had I think Apple lightly tweaked the design because those have been reliable for six months. Nevertheless, taking nothing to chance I think the gen 2’s will be a lot more reliable
