i dont like square edge to edge like ipad pro , that look backword technology

i think apple will redesign square edge to edge but not same as ipad pro

I hope they don’t because I hate the square look of the 5 series. The square corners used to hurt my hand if I used the phone for a certain amount of time.

Not planing to upgrade as I have a Xs. But I do plan on upgrading my mom's phone. She has an iPhone 7. By that point she will have had the phone 3 years. It will be time.

It's likely that I will upgrade because I have upgraded at least once a year since 2013. However I still need to wait until the keynote before I fully decide.

I just bought the xs 256gb which stole all my money. Will be using that phone for atleast 3+ years! probably like 5 then switch.

iphone cheap now , and all can make monthly payment around 30-40$ bucks per month , why we has to wait 2-3 yrs upgrade :D >>>

i upgrade every yrs trade in and continueing next program 30$ per month just like jobs said every day 1$ per drink coke

I'll have to, 5S will be retired and even battery replacement doesn't provide enough battery life, so I have no other choice. :(

Guess I will, I’m in IUP, but giving serious thought to skipping a year. Hopefully they will come out with something to get me excited

I am passing on this. I was disappointed by the early issues of the iphone Xs where it had wifi and cellular issues as well as charge gate. I actually had high expectations for the Xs as I was upgrading from an iphone 7, so I thought that the Xs would be a far more polished iphone X with more speed, but I was very wrong at least in terms of network performance at launch, and first impressions matter a lot. I had a sour experience. I am liking the phone now though. I will buy a new iphone if apple can release a phone with the polish that they are known for.

Going to have to take a breather no matter what this year. Here’s to hoping the apple quality shines through for a few years!!!!

That’s exactly why I returned my iPhone Xs and bought an open box certified iPhone X at BestBuy. If the iPhone 11 or iPhone Pro are amazing, then I can sell the X and take a smaller loss. Really prefer the Xs but it’s not worth the $400 difference to me.

iPhones are not cheap, there isn’t any iPhones in Apples line up that would be considered ‘cheaply’ priced. If someone has to ‘try’ to justify the monthly payment, then you likely can’t afford the phone in the first place.

Too many annual/premature upgraders here.

The prices will keep climbing.

Discourage Apple & hold onto your XS/X/8 series for another year. :D

Naturally, there will be many who will upgrade no matter what on an annual basis on a site like this, however the majority of consumers don’t upgrade annually. As a matter fact, it’s complete opposite in today’s smart phone era, where consumers are not upgrading every two years, it’s surpassing that. The reason being, iOS and the hardware is matured enough where smart phones generally don’t require anyone to upgrade on an annual basis.

I don’t think Apple is discouraged, not when they’re selling the most popular phone in the world, but I do think they have a glimpse of reality that the smart phone market isn’t what it once was, and that will require change through trade-ins/promotional incentives/services, as Cook mentioned a few months back.

I will try although my circumstances have changed dramatically this past year XD, also been very tempted by the Samsung S10 but held off... haha

No because it’s a total complete waste of money.
Your paying for a really incremental update.

Take my XR, would the dual camera rumoured for this years model make me upgrade? No, but I will in 2020 when it gets an OLED screen, as rumoured.

Every two years plus is more sensible. More of a jump then.

I'm saying no. Mainly because the prices are increasing, and the improvements between iphones are getting smaller.

Since I got the XS when it came out I plan on having it for a good few years. It's such a powerful phone, its gorgeous, and does everything I want it to (and more), and should be supported for years to come (there's no reason it shouldn't be with the A12 and 4 gb of RAM). So... no, I will not be getting the 2019 iPhones :)

My purchase this year is gonna be a long range Tesla model 3!

Don't do it mate. Not only are the cars buttugly but they are so cheaply built and do not feel a all like the luxury car they're supposed to be.

I will gladly take my wife's iPhone 8 and I will buy her a new 2019 iPhone of her choice, so that I can wait until 2020 to (presumably) buy for myself a revolutionary device with under-display touch ID and no notch and 5G.

I am exactly on the same boat as you. I am currently looking to buy a refurb Iphone 8 which I can use until Apple comes up with an iPhone that has under display touch ID. And unless Apple decide to drop the iPhone prices to what they used to be (before the last increase) I will never buy a new iPhone.

I'll use my Huawei P30 Pro until the iPhone XI gets released.
P30 Pro camera:
I like the natural unsaturated canonlike colors (non AI mode) - seems reviewers and most of us are already conditioned to oversaturated not true to life colors and expect oversatuaration in blues and greens...thats why blind camera tests are killing the P30 Pro ;).
In 6 month back to iOS again ;).

Struggling to decide whether to trade my X in, in a couple of weeks for an XR or XS Max or wait till September.

It’s depends. Does it interest you to see what the new iPhones have to offer for this fall? The rumored triple lens camera will likely be here for the iPhone 11. Or, if you’re not someone that’s interested in waiting for the iPhones, then I would say upgrade now, as I don’t believe these phones will be drastically different aside from the camera upgrades coming.
