At my airline we all have iPad Airs 3rd generation. They don’t mount on the yoke but on the side either window or shelf. On my aircraft we have Velcro on back of iPad and side panel of the jet. Works well. The iPad replaces everything in the old large pubs bag. we use the extra space to fill our bags up with SNACKS ??
Do you think that is a mini on his leg?

The fact that many buy used does not mean they are a majority. Nobody has exact data on the used market, so anyone saying the majority or minority either way is not backed by any data. And even the reasoning above is in part flawed.
You only buy new once, while used products can be bought and sold several times. So while the number of new devices is higher the number of used device sales could technically be higher.
Personally I don't think it is, but nobody has data to back this.
As I said earlier, it's not just used devices, there are quite a few sales of devices that are far from normal price, like Apple refurbished devices (which have some warranty), "end of life" sales (where companies liquidate stock of new devices since a new generation is coming or since the product is being discontinued), floor models that have been touched for months or years but are sold with warranties. Or simply big sales like Black Friday etc. These plus the used market might outnumber devices sold at full price, but again nobody has statistics to say for sure...
Technically, the used market is the minority. I never buy used, I never even buy official Apple Refurbished as I want it new. So even if I am the only one on the planet that does this, then the used market is still a minority. Used market is from people who have purchased the product new. N > N-1.

Thing is you see the market as number of items, but technically a market is a number of sales, not items, and you can purchase new only once, while you can buy used many times the same item

Buying 2018 tech in 2021 for 2021 prices just seems wrong regardless of how you spin it.
Some people don't care, (like Devin) and some people do (myself included).
I don't open windows when heating is on in the winter so I see no reason to do that here. Less than 2 weeks to wait whilst having a newest Air would be breeze.
If anything, the current model will just die at least 1 year earlier than 2021 one. That itself is worth the wait of shocking +-2 weeks. :)

How confident are you about it arriving in less than 2 weeks? If at all?

Given today's "news" it doesn't look good for next tuesday so if nothing happens beginning of April then we will have to wait for WWDC. (unlikely though)
I stand by the previous claim. You don't buy iPhone on 1st September when iPhone even is around the corner.
I think its foolish to waste so much money for 2018 tech in 2021 just when new one is about to go out.

And who is to say anything happens in April? Does one just sit in a constant state of waiting?

That is probably what Apple wants...

Probably. I think when it comes to Apple the situation is great in that you can buy a 2018 iPad Pro today and still be “future proofed” because of the long support, you know what I mean? Hence I question if waiting is worth it, unless you are truly going to max that device out or keep it for the next decade OR if you are the sort of person that always needs the latest and greatest every single year. Great dilemma to have though.

Poor Jon Prosser’s eyebrows gotta love these leaksters, I have said before that I believe Apple actively troll these guys by giving them false information so that they can 1. Figure out who is the one leaking information to them from internal and 2. Have a little fun with the leaksters themselves.

Until Apple releases a new iPad that I want to buy or there's a very good sale on current models or my usage changes that requires switching to a 2018/2020 Pro, then yeah.

It's not like my current iPads will suddenly stop working after March 23 *knock on wood*.

Still hoping for an 11” with 5G announcement next week.
As I mentioned earlier, Apple will not be dropping the 11" iPad Pro. It would make no sense, plus they sell way too many of them.

This was announced today:

"Apple will refresh its iPad Pro lineup, introducing new models that "look similar to the current iPad Pros" in the same 11 and 12.9-inch screen sizes. The two iPads are expected to feature an updated A14X processor that's "on par" with the M1 chip in the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini, along with better cameras."

I'm so glad to hear that they will also be adding Thunderbolt. This means that they will be using the M1 (A14X) chip as mentioned last month.

Apple, shut up and take my money :D

This is great news. But I hate to wait, April seems like forever, with Easter on the 4th it most likely means at least midApril

Hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Apple wont be releasing iPad Pros at WWDC either, its on a 2 year update cycle and that's 2022. Cant wait to see Proser shave those eyebrows!
