You are not even considering that these iPads came in different periods of the year. There was 1.5 year between the 2017 and 2018 pro and 1.5 year between the 2018 and 2020. So it's a 1.5 years cycle not 2 years. And the fact that they even did a 2020 upgrade despite hardly upgrading the SOC means that they didn't want to wait more than 18 months. But now they need an upgrade to prepare developers for pro apps and iPadOS 15, so they cannot continue with a basically 2.5 years SOC, when they have an A14X (=M1) ready since last year. iPad pro is coming this month, whether there is an even or just press releases / site updates. All reliable leakers converge on this.Nope. The 12.9 iPad Pro is every two years with back to back in 2017 and 2018 being the only exception. Its gone 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020. The only reason the smaller iPad Pro got more updates was they couldn't decide what size they wanted to make it. It went from 9.7 in 2016, to 10.5 in 2017 and then when they finally decided on 11 inches in 2018, it didn't update again until 2020. There most likely won't be a 2021 iPad Pro release, will be 2022
