That’s exactly what I did. 👍🏻 I got the M1 iPad Pro, (I want to upgrade to the M4 sometime soon), and once I started using it back in 2021, I practically stopped using my MacBook altogether. Now I have an M1 Mac Mini setup as my desktop, and use my iPad Pro as my laptop. I mostly use my Mac Mini for saving local backups of my iPad, managing external storage drives so I can access them remotely (NAS), and for a few other niche things. 99.9% of my computer use is now on my iPad, even my professional graphic design work, 3D modeling/sculpting, etc. 👍🏻I haven’t used an iPad in a while. Just picked up a new pro with the keyboard and honestly I probably could get away with just this setup. Just an hour in, and I already feel like I can navigate just as well as I do on my Mac. I truly am surprised at how easy the UI is to navigate. I’ll probably make my laptop my “desktop” and just roll with this is a laptop.
He did not say what iPad OS 18 would do, did he? Still wishful thinker and has been since iPad M1. Sales plummeting? Not updating a device for >year has an impact. WWDC will be interesting though. Here is concept video on what they want ipadOS pro to have.
M4 iPad Pro - How iPadOS 18 will FINALLY make it PRO!

This really is just speculation by a vacuum cleaner salesman. Here is concept video on what they want ipadOS pro to have.

Yup - literally no improvements to file management, multitasking, or anything that makes iPad different than iPhone outside of pencil improvements.Doesn't look like iPadOS 18 will offer any new multitasking features. Same ole same ole.
I should have just bought an iPad Air 😔
Yeah I feel like they’re trolling us at this point.I had low expectation that Apple would address a few of the well documented pain points in iPadOS and they lived down to it...
a calculator and a couple features to sell pencils to non artists. that's it. literally.well lets see what today delivers

Same here but the lighter weight and the OLED are big upgrades for me personally. looking forward to these notes changes as my handwriting looks like Egyptian hieroglyphsI will be honest I had my doubts with what the new iPad OS will give us but then I thought "Why would Apple put this M4 chip and offer us up to 16GB of ram if they weren't going to have a OS that needed that much power"
As I was watching the keynote I was so disappointed that the new OS offers us very little change and then we broke into Apple Intelligence which dont get me wrong is really cool as I am a daily user of ChatGPT however when Tim said as long as you have a M1 device you can use the Ai features was kinda a kick in the gut.
I love my Oled iPad but my M1 suited me just fine for my needs in the terms of horsepower.
