That’s lame, and pretty much ensures I won’t move from my 2018 11” Pro to the Air even if the A14 benchmarks are good. Ah well.

Of course it won’t be. The base storage will be 64gb and they know full well this isn’t enough for most. Another year with the iPad Air 2 for me!

You're seriously not going to upgrade from an Air 2 over the base storage being too small? This is a HUGE upgrade over the Air 2. It's even a big upgrade over the Air 3. It's almost Pro level.

I’d be keeping this for 5 years so there is no chance 64gb would suffice. £729 for the 256gb version is horrendously steep.

Yes, I could've sworn...

Well . . they didn't use the word quad in the keynote and the specs are now up on the site. Unlike the specs for the Pro line where they specifically call out four/quad in their descriptions they do not do so for the new Air. So . . we can each draw our own conclusions on those facts. Personally, I'm banking that there's only two speakers but I'd be happy to be wrong.

Hmm. So now I need decide if I'm going to get the 11" Pro with the free AirPods (edu promo) for $979CDN, or pay $779CDN for the new Air. Decisions, decisions.

Well, okay. The air is more powerful than I expected. But once you up the storage and add cellular, it’s only a couple hundred bucks cheaper than a similar pro.

I think today’s even talked me out of both. I’ll just wait to see what they do with the Pros in March.

Yeah that was my thought as well. Been hoping to upgrade my wife's Air 2 but the format change to folio case design puts a damper on it and the overall cost increase (all in with case and pencil) with no base storage increase does as well.

It's $749 / $879 for Air 4 256GB Wi-Fi / Wi-Fi+Cellular respectively. $899 / $1049 for a similarly configured 2020 Pro 11. If anything, the 2020 Pro seems poor value at this point.

Pretty clear that the iPad Pro will get this “mini-LED” big update in March. But even then I’m uncertain why a lot of people would get an 11” iPad Pro compared to this very compelling iPad Air. I guess if you use your 11“ iPad Pro as your primary computer, you need big storage options, may appreciate Pro Motion and Face ID, etc. It’s much easier to make the case for any kind of 12.9” iPad Pro.

Im on the fence because of the terrible pricing of the Air 4 and no confirmation on the RAM specs. Apple is still with their shenanigans with forcing to you spend an extra $150 to get adequate storage when the base model should’ve come with 128gb at the $599 price.

So I’m either spending $749 for a 256gb Air 4 or $749 EDU pricing for 128gb Pro 11” + free AirPods.

Quad speakers and 6gb of RAM are what I want, but Air 4 has the A14 and Touch ID that I also want....*sigh*....APPLE WHY DO YOU DO THIS?!

My wish list is 5G, 1TB and more RAM.

I’m thinking I will go from my 12.9” 2017 iPad Pro to the Air 4 blue colour. I don’t use the camera on my iPad so the LIDAR I’m not bothered about, also the A14 seems plenty fast!

I’m not sure on benchmarks but I’m guessing the A14 chip inside the Air 4 is faster than what’s in my current 2017 iPad Pro.
