A little history. I had an ip5 and switched to an s4 then a note 3. I am now back with my 5s and wont look back.

There were certain aspects of the galaxy line I liked, but it was some of those that were the biggest problems. The ability for virus or software issues was too much for me, since my phone is so integrated into my job.

I have no intention of moving to the 6, as I really love my 5s and truly believe that s series are the superior versions.

I will say in terms of cameras, I found no difference at all between the 13 mp cameras in samsung and the 8mp of the 5s.

Just my 2cents

You don't know anything about technology so you keep mixing terms that have nothing to do with anything.

Here's a suggestion. If you want to say something, say it clearly.

My point was put very simply and clearly. As usual on here , you guys came on the attack because apple iPhone is perfect and never has any problems and android is a crappy mess.

OK. Great. You said your piece. I said mine.

What else is there to add? Go ahead. And be clear.

Do me a favor and read what you quoted me saying the first time. I was pointing out what someone said and what I thought they actually meant by "free". I'm incapable of dumbing it down any further for someone to understand. I can't even fathom how you can't comprehend I was explaining someone else's use of a word. Clear enough for you? :)

Then read my sig. I came on the attack? As a hardcore Apple user? Ooookay.

Anyone that tells someone they don't know anything about technology then a couple sentences later says a piece of technology is perfect (iPhone) immediately loses all credibility.

IPhone 5s has a middle of the pack camera. The best is the Lumia with the huge camera on the back, second is the S5.

It is ridiculous for you to compare your past Galaxy phones with the 5s. You didn't have an S5. The S5, besides the Lumia, wipes the floor with every other camera on any phone, including the ones you used to have.

How would you get a virus on an Android phone? Did YOU get one? How did it happen?

I would pick the iPhone over the Galaxy S5 because of the design and quality Apple provides.

I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE version and the experience was really poor. Apps would be crashing a lot due to issues of hardware and software requirements. The last update for my Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE was the Android 4.0 update and it "killed the battery life significantly" that it would only last maybe two hours depending on usage. Basically, the battery was draining much faster than before the update.

My first iPhone was a 5, but since upgraded to the 5C since the 5 isn't unlocked and wouldn't work on the carrier's network that I wanted which required the bands of 1700/2100 on the AWS spectrum which the 5 lacked.

I would say, the experience with the iOS/iPhone ecosystem is much better in both hardware and software which I have had less crashes than with Android along with better quality of apps along with annual updates until the hardware is too old to support which sometimes varies depending on the iPhone model of course.

Typical fanboy. You just said things I never said.

When did I say that Google copies nothing? Show me the quote.

A touch ID isn't a good enough reason to go iPhone over an S5. What good is a touch ID if your phone is dead at 1pm?

The only one reason I can see picking an iPhone over an S5 is more internal memory available if you need that.

Camera, screen, they're all better in the S5.

Fanboy, great now we are into name calling. Pot, kettle thing?

Screen matter of opinion, camera sorry every credible web review says otherwise. But I guess a typical samsung fanboy might ignore credible web info, right?

And yes, Touch ID is a great reason to go for iPhone. And I'll risk my battery life being limited as you say.

I don't care what your source says. The GS5 has the best camera overall. I haven't tried the G3 yet.

The 5s is just OK.

So that's it. Anything else?

Touch ID is BS.

hostility on a forum dedicated to apple from someone who supports a competing brand? too funny. I think you might need another hobby or else it just looks like a sad attempt at intentionally stirring the pot on your part.

I stand by my comments without hesitation. Take it or leave it. I have nothing against the Samsung line, I just prefer apple across the board for reasons mentioned.

Did I get a virus? Yes! Are you satisfied? How did I get it? I was informed that it was an app issue. I also new someone who's S3 was hacked and had a new password placed on it.

If you like and enjoy the samsung line….good bless and enjoy. Just seems pointless for you to come here like a petulant 12 year old and do the name calling, hostility nonsense.

An app issue? App from where? Now you're making stuff up. Where did you get this app? What was the name of the app?

Someone hacked your friend's S3. Hahaha. Sure. How did this happen? What was he doing with his phone?

If you answer those questions truthfully I will show you how this was the user's fault. Nothing to do with android. I've never met a single android user that ever had a virus or a hacked phone.

I've said countless times I don't own a Samsung phone. I said, on my original post, I WOULDN'T PICK EITHER ONE. I think they're BOTH crap.

I'm going to call you Out of Context boy. Why don't you read everything first before you post?

No answer. See?

Android gets viruses. Sure. Right. Then you can't back it up because it doesn't happen to the regular user. If installed some sort of malicious app, it didn't come from Google. It came from somewhere else and you had to disable the phone's security to be able to do that. You have to go through warning after warning if you disable it on your phone.

Not only that but every time you install something from the Play Store there is a detailed view on what the app does and has access to before you accept it. Something that iOS doesn't do. Then after install, the OS verifies and scans the app and will block it if it is a malicious app. You would have yo disable the default security on the phone to get a malicious app.

As a matter of fact, I can download a malicious app right now in my phone and it'll sit there and do nothing because it has no rights to install because it is from an unknown source. I just go to downloads and delete it.

You can't unlock your phone in under half a second. In order for touch ID to work, you first have to wake up the screen with the button by pressing it. Then scan your fingerprint.

That's another lie.

And again, Samsung phones suck. Just like iphones.

iOS.

Got IP5 nearly 2 years ago and have used S4/S5 and Moto X for a while since I wanted bigger screen. Moto X near perfect size for me. I unlocked, put custom ROMs and always tweaked to make it look like iOS (with launcher and themes). The fluidity was just NOT there no matter what I did.

Went back to IP5 and waiting for IP6 with bigger screen... will probably go with 5.5 inch (I hope they trimmed the bezels on the rumored pics... may have to settle with 4.7" if pics are correct).

Okay, along with all of your other "knowledge" you are positive I can't unlock my phone in under a half a second. I guess you might actually have to have an iPhone to know it takes one button press to wake and unlock simultaneously.

I've had iPhone 4, 4s and used 5 and 5s.

You're saying the same thing I just said. You have to press the button, then it has to scan the finger. It doesn't work if it's asleep.

So now you're repeating what I just said. Good boy.

Pressing, scanning, go to home screen, that takes a lot longer than 0.5 seconds.

You're lying.

If you're not, make a video. Have someone with a timer time you unlocking your phone and let's see you do it in LESS THAN 0.5 seconds. That's what you said.

Some of the Samsung phones are nice, but TouchWiz is terrible.

I'd save up and buy an S5 if google would release the Google Play Edition, and the S4 GPE has been out of stock for months.

Plus, the proof is in what people say about iOS. My boss, the director of engineering, uses an Galaxy S4 for work, but he says it's "alright" but mentions that his wife and kids adore the iPhone. Everyone I know who has an iPhone loves the iPhone. The same cannot be said for Samsung.

Most of the people on my college campus are buying Samsung just to look different because the iPhone is so popular. (Yes this is what people literally tell me) Apple has become the new Microsoft in the sense that it is cool now to be "Anti-Apple" and hate Apple.

I admittedly have thought about android purely just because I want to try something different and for the larger screen size. But have others have stated, I'm so entrenched in the ecosystem that it'd be like starting a new life if I switch to android. I might look into getting a GPE HTC One M8 though.

If Apple releases a bigger screen iPhone, they would destroy Samsung.

They wouldn't destroy Samsung because your big screen iPhone will still die midday.

It isn't a big deal to move to android. I used iPhone for 3 years. Switched no problems. All my contacts are in gmail anyway.

I guess you are lying about having a 5s. If you did you would know from the time your finger hit the home button until the phone is unlocked can be done quickly. If that process took you more than three blinks of an eye you were slow.

I'm not offering up any proof because all you want to do is argue without backing up anything you say. Take it at face value or not. I don't really care.

AMOLED and TouchWiz.

I actually like Android and have plenty of Android devices but I'm not buying another Samsung Android device again (unless it's to install AOSP-based custom ROMs or something). TouchWiz kinda ruins the experience for me. I prefer something as close to stock as possible. Recent Motorola phones have been fairly close to stock and I'm hoping they will continue down that path even with the Lenovo acquisition while adding features such as a microSD card slot, etc.

Touchwiz is total garbage. The Tab S is beautiful, all those specs and a screen that puts the iPad to shame, then you start using it and the lag is insane. Even zooming in and out of pictures the picture is always following behind your fingers. It is really bad. Also touchwiz takes up HALF the RAM just doing nothing when you turn on the device. 3GB Ram half gone as soon as you turn it on.

The S5 16GB comes out of the box with 7GB free.

Why would you pick iPhone over the Galaxy S5?

No they are not. Not pre setting pictures. Apple hasn't unlocked the API's until iOS 8. It was a keynote btw

Those APIs apply to iOS 8. Here is a screen shot from a 3rd party camera app on iOS 7.

pyzetyqy.jpg

I also have 3rd party camera apps that can adjust shutter speed simulation. Actually digital photography doesn't use ISO. ISO applies to film photography.

Because the S5 is insanely big and because I dislike Android?

It won't be a whole lot bigger than the upcoming 4.7" iPhone 6 and it will definitely be smaller than the 5.5" i6. Have you owned an Android device for a significant period of time? They're pretty good now you know.

All adjustments aren't native to the camera in the phone, they are software after effects. Faux settings? Keep in mind Apple made a big deal about this at WWDC 14 for camera devs in iOS 8.

No, sorry. While you are correct that the adjustments you speak of aren't yet native to iOS, they don't need to be post processed. The big deal is that they will be natively incorporated and shared to iOS 8 across all apps, rather than developers writing those features on their own. Like I said, digital photography does not use ISO like film cameras.

With digital photography, ISO is a procedure to increase or decrease camera sensitivity, not shutter speed. A developer is free to create an app that simulates shutter speed. It's a simulation, since digital photography doesn't really have a shutter like film photography, it is a increase or decrease of camera sensitivity.

http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/136/iso-explained/

Here is a screen capture from a camera app that allows for simple pre adjusting the camera settings pre-photo taking.
