Will the M4 MBA be announced with MacOS 15.3?

So if I’m reading into this right, I need to keep checking delivery/pickup dates for my local Apple Store and hope the M2/15” M3 becomes unavailable sooner rather than later, or, I need the delivery dates for BTOs to fall back massively 😅

I’m in no rush, I barely use my current MacBook. But it’s a 2019 Intel Pro which is starting to feel sluggish so I feel like now’s a good time to upgrade while I can still sell it and get somewhat of a good price for it.
But the sooner it gets announced the better. That way if I decide to not to upgrade immediately, by the time I do (say march/april) there will likely be discounts around
Why aren’t you getting a new MacBook Pro instead of an air since you are using a pro !
Let’s See, Nano Texture is gonna be the make or break for me. Prefer the lightness and like the 15 inch form factor of the mba. But without nano glass texture I’ll probably go with the mbp.
According to Mark Gurman, the MacBook Air could be unveiled in a press release sometime in February, ahead of a event to unveil the iPhone 16E, iPad 11, and potentially some other “smart home” gadgets.
I will be pre-ordering one for me the day it drops, so hope it comes soon!

Pretty sure he didn't provide a date except for "spring" for SE4 and iPad, while M4 MBA would be "earlier."
An M4 MBA is already infinitely better than my 2019 pro, plus I don’t need anything extra that the pro has over the air
A main factor aswell is how the Air is overall a nicer looking and sized machine. The current pro line up IMO is awful. Just a chunky brick.
I’d plan on having the air for a good few years and then maybe if they redesign the pro and give it OLED id consider in the future
Yes I agree… after apple went to apple silicon, MacBook airs are very powerful! But I have a MacBook Pro and it’s not a chunky brink (unless you take the 16inch model)

Could you provide your thoughts on this as well as the dates?
In Australia the shipping times for BTO MBP and MBA are identical. So there's no sign of any imminent release on those dates.
I’m afraid I’m just posting these based on what others have posted here, in the hope that someone can make use of them.
Until I read this thread a day or two ago I had no idea that shipping dates slipping like so could correlate to an announcement/release

In the press announcement there is normally a foot Note wich states can be ordered now and will be shipped to customers starting XY (usually 1 Week) .
It’s like they say at presentations for new iPhones can be ordered now and will be shipped/ be in stores *Date*

Good for you! BTO Airs, however, are not available for same day pickup/delivery (I’m assuming you know what “BTO” means).

So the standard models you can get pretty much straight away.
If you choose a model but upgrade the storage or memory for example, the shipping dates get pushed way back, as they don’t have as many of these laying around in factories ready to be shipped and they aren’t going to replenish stock as quickly (if at all), if they’re expecting to be discontinued very shortly
So the MacBook Air m2 with 10 cores GPU (which isn’t a model in store) could arrive at my house between the 13 and the 18… but I don’t know why… I get between 14 and 21 for the m3 with 10 cores gpu…
Some people guessed that maybe the m3 will be removed from the apple store and the m2 will stay. Something with higher production cost and problems in producing the m3. Also the upgrade from m2 to m3 wasn’t that big… only time will tell tho.
