I just use Disk Cleanup under Windows Admin Tools. It's an old but useful app. I think MS is getting rid of in in the near future. :(

Windows is not that bad or different from MacOS as some people make it out to be. I think it may have been a few years ago, but the difference is overblown now. I'm not sure the MacOS hardware premium is worth it anymore (to me). Especially for basic users that mostly use a web browser, photos, music player, and document editor they are not significantly different. Sure they both take some getting used to if you switch after several years, but I use both daily and don't mind either one or find one much better than the other. I certainly thought I was going to be a Mac user for life but I am happy with Windows again for now.

I love Windows!!
Been a User since 3.11-Windows for Workgroups!!
I've Never had a Problem.
It Just Works!! For Me!!

I would like to just point out by far the most annoying Windows bug I continue to experience to this day. I think it's related to Online Accounts on new devices after the Fall Update last year.

Basically, when setting up a new device or whatever it downloads all those default apps. This is no big deal as they're easily uninstalled and whatever. Who cares?

But I continue, on every single new device, have an issue where the pinned tiles on the Start menu will repopulate on restarting (or just resetting Windows Explorer for that matter). This means that I cannot customize the start menu as I like until I take my account offline. Set up a new user account with my Microsoft Account, and then things work as normal.

It's repeatable and infuriating. Of course, this is only really a huge issue if you've been trying every Windows device under the sun to find one you like.

If you like Mac OS (and you do), then check out the Linux distro Deepin OS. It's gorgeous, fluid and the user experience will feel very familiar to Mac lovers.

I have been using Windows 10 over Boot Camp 100% of the time with my 2012 MacBook Pro and really love it - the only thing I think that I notice is multitasking performance is significantly worse if you push the computer to it's limits. I think MacOS certainly has better RAM management / multitasking performance in extreme circumstances.

For example, if I run Adobe Photoshop, Chrome w/ several tabs, and Solidworks, no problem. I have a few GBs of RAM left and it's cool. Everything runs beautifully.

But push another app like Illustrator or InDesign or Protopie, and make the computer use that full 16 GBs, and it's toast. I absolutely cannot get work done and need to close an app or two.

Whereas when I used to use MacOS, even if I was pushing the full 16 GBs, while a little slow to switch between apps, the application I am focused on tended to perform just fine.

Again, not a HUGE deal, because that's really an extreme circumstance in multitasking, but it is something I will be aware of when I purchase my next computer.

32Gb simple on a native W10 platform, problem solved...Pro App's are only efficient if designed for OS X and ever fewer are :( Is what it is, want to know why ask Apple...

I literally can't tell the difference for normal use between windows and mac os these days. If there was a DAW I liked as much as Logic Pro, which I find to be extremely intuitive for my needs and workflow, I would switch back to windows instantly.

Windows was more stable for me in the last 4 years than mac os was, it's solid and reliable, and it's safe. Considering that most things on the computer these days are web based, I really don't see the point in paying a premium price. If you asked me a few years ago, I would definitely have said something very different though..

Not to mention that the current basic mac desktop, the iMac is so outdated, it's ridiculous.

The question isn't whether macOS is better than Windows. The real question is if macOS is worth the extra price, and for most people it's not. Unless you need software that's only on macOS, then Windows is fine. The functionality is there on both platforms.

For me, Windows is definitely better than macOS in regards to productivity (...).

The only reason why I stay with macOS is that here the "esthetic" is more refined, everything "looks" better. The same is with the iOS vs. Android.
I know, this is NOT a good reason to stay with macOS / iOS … That's because I'm in conflict with myself because I know that I work better on Windows.

MacOS has a truly dated look. Horrible that it has not been modernized in forever.

Even Linux is catching up with MacOS

LOL!
Even Linux?

As far as aesthetics goes, nothing can compare to Linux. Nothing. You can take almost any Linux desktop and turn it into whatever you want. Just look at bungie or deepin distros, and compare Mac OS and Windows to that.

For me personally, as far as looks go, Linux is by far number 1. Mac OS is second. Windows comes up last, and it is last by far. UI isn't consistent, some of important stuff is really clunky and really outdated (like Windows Explorer for example), and scaling is still a complete mess.

But as far as productivity goes, Windows/Linux/MacOS are all good options. It's a personal preference, from user to user. Personally I would use Linux distros 100% of the time if all the apps I need were there. But they aren't. So I use Pop_OS and boot into Windows 10 when needed.

I would still use MacOS if the hardware was there, but it isn't. So I have moved on.

Just give me a Microsoft Office version which runs native – no via VM but for example via Wine – on Linux and I try it…

Never gonna happen :(
But I was speaking strictly about UI/UX.

Gaming is coming along nicely, and it seems it's gonna get there soon enough. But the bigger problem are applications that are missing, like you stated. Those aren't coming along at all. But again, I was speaking strictly about UI/UX. In that category, Linux is way ahead of Windows.

Any place but here or there....
I am actively looking at Asus Zen Books. I like the Flip S (they have so many models, I think that’s the name of it). I think one of those will be my next machine. I will supplement with the cheapest iPad that uses the pencil. I need portability in the house now, just waiting on a couple of things.

I think my iMac’s Bluetooth saying piss off and it’s increasing slowness means it’s not long for this world.

I am about ready for the switch, so I hope to do so in the near future.
