Buxton Brewery: Medusa Bay - An India Pale Ale.
I missed my opportunity, clearly!
Last few bottles I enjoyed were Brouilly (Beaujolais rouge), Amarone, Maranges 1er cru (Bourgogne rouge), and a fabulous Domaine Weinbach Riesling (Alsace).
Life may be busy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t stop for a nice glass of wine!

Well I’ll be making a trip to Manchester soon, hopefully I can finally lay my hands on s few bottles of Buxton Brewery while there. Any brews you specifically recommend?

Do you have any specific recommendations for Buxton Brews?Domaine Weinbach Riesling (Alsace) is a wine I believe I have become acquainted with - a most congenial experience.
Great selection of exceedingly agreeable wines.
Do you have any specific recommendations for Buxton Brews?
Ahah, the Trolltunga was a Buxton creation. Excellent, I’ll certainly keep an eye out for it. You’ve mentioned it so many times, and I do enjoy sours. Others noted as well, they sound quite excellent. It would be hard to pass up a boozy porter/stout.Firstly, what sort of beers do you like?
Secondly, Buxton have some standard beers that are brewed all of the time, and are readily available, but they also have seasonal brews, some of which (as with Founders) are brewed annually and made available at the appropriate season, and some of which are one offs.
Unlike Founders (and I like most of what Founders produces, but they have produced a few mistakes - that ghastly Rueben comes to mind, as do a few others), I can say that I have never disliked a beer brewed by Buxton.
Now, within that, I have some fairly strong personal preferences: I like the highly alcoholic rich porters, and I love tart tasting fruit sours, whereas I am not quite as crazy on overly hopped beers.
A few personal preferences: Trolltunga (an excellent gooseberry sour); High Tor (an India red ale); Red Wolf (a slightly tart cherry sour); Ramberget (an India Pale Ale that I really liked); Extra Porter Costa Rican Coffee (a lovely coffee porter).

Cheers, thanks.
Had a very good brown/red ale this weekend from a local brewery's on tap... Pizza Port Chronic Ale. Wasn't bad at all! Also had a mexican style lager called El Sully Cerveza from 21st Amendment Brewery, wasn't bad, wasn't great, but very drinkable.
