some exquisite wine for the last few days. The Bâtard-Montrachet, I unfortunately didn’t have the chance to taste it, it was the lady. She forgot to call me, I almost dumped her.

Ah, excellent!

Some of my favourites, some superb wines; I love the white wines of Burgundy.

Meursault is one of my all time favourites, and I am also more than partial to a glass (or three) of Chassagny-Montrachet.

As for the Bâtard-Montrachet, well, this is a wine I have yet to make the acquaintence of.

Do enjoy.

For myself, I have opened a bottle of Chablis 1er Cru for consumption later this evening.

Chablis Premier Cru is gorgeous! Enjoy!!!!!

I highly recommend you try Morey-Saint-Denis. You’ll love it if you love Meursault. It’s funny because most people prefer Montrachet (Puligny or Chassagne) than Meursault but myself I always prefer Meursault.

Oh and please please try Corton-Charlemagne.

Thank you.

I shall - or, I hope to.

You hae excellent taste.

Actually, I adore Meursault, it is possiby my favourite wine of all.

Now, I do also love Montrachet (both Poligny and Chassagne), but am most partial to a really good buttery Chablis, one that also has a steely backbone.

I've never had, sampled, savoured, tried, or encountered - let alone enjoyed - Morey-Saint-Denis, but thank you for the recommendation; much appreciated.

Had to work today (well, didn't "have to") but did so and now off for 7 days. Drinking a few Jack Daniels. What can I say? I'm predictable....

Enjoy your whisky.

I am about to open my second beer of the night (while reading a fat, hefty, enticing, history book, the kind you can completely lose yourself in, about the First World War, by Margaret MacMillan), St Bernardus Abt 12.

At almost 200 pages in - the text is well over 600 pages of closely and densely packed print, with a further hundred or so pages of footnotes, sources and an index - I am almost wholly immersed, and have to remind myself to draw breath ( and pour a glass of Something Nice) at chapter endings.
