Sipping a Hefe Weissbier (the classic, the standard for this type of beer) from Weihenstephaner.

And I am also currently watching a video from (the) rather good (actually, extremely good) Real Ale Craft Beer channel, a video that is comparing seven Oktoberfest beers (well, we are approaching that time of year again).

Anyway, anyone who describes a beer as "super tasty"...."biscuity, bready", "absolutely superb", a beer that "has a mouthfeel with a rich creaminess", adding how "it's like having a cuddle from the inside out, it really is" will always meet with my heartfelt and passionate approval.

It's even more annoying in Germany than elsewhere. But the video does sound very interesting, I'll watch it. Thanks!

Simon (from Real Ale Craft Beer) has done a number of (rather good) videos over the years about Oktoberfest beers; more to the point, he has also done some seriously good videos about Weihenstephaner beers......and freely admits to a wholehearted love for Weissbier style beers (a preference I share, which is one of the reasons I watch videos from his channel; had his preference been for those over-hopped IPAs, my enthusiasm would have been considerably more muted).

Anyway, I like his channel; it is informed, knowledgeable, welcoming, enthusiastic, and not at all precious, knowing or altogether too full of himself (a fault of some of the beer channels, and I have been known to watch quite a few of them).

Well, it is a Friday night, a wet, windy, dark Friday night, and - equally clearly - it is now also Beer O'Clock, which means that I have just opened a bottle of Original Helles (from Weihenstephaner, of course) to accompany me this miserable evening.

Subscribed! :) Although many of the beers there are, of course, familiar to me (most of them are available even in Lower Saxony, where I live, without much effort), I am always happy to receive one or two new recommendations.
Excellent. I think that you may enjoy it.

Actually, I quite like the channel, (which is why I mentioned it) and find it engaging, welcoming, interesting and informative, and not at all precious or pretentious.

Moreover, he likes the beers that I like, and dislikes - or, is considerably less enthused about - some of the stuff that I am not all that partial towards; never underestimate the power of common preferences (or common dislikes) when forging fresh links (or relationships).

In any case, to my mind, some of the (other) beer channels are hosted by the sort of guys (with beards) who take themselves (and their pronouncements) very, very, seriously indeed, while others (some of the less weighty ones) have hosts who sometimes clearly haven't done their homework, and aren't terribly knowledgeable. Neither are remotely attractive or interesting to me.
