And again it’s not just because I call it that. But please, rewrite the wiki article on the matter when you’re done reading it.

Sure more and more devices will be computers.

That doesn’t mean you’ll be able to use those to get your MS Office tasks running.

Please point to a generally accepted resource that has more credibility than Wikipedia to back up your claim that tablet computers don’t belong to the computer category.

I have been using your resource as what a computational devices are. By your resources my coffee maker is a computer along with my iPad. I disagree with that.
That is the thing with technology definitions that were written some years ago. Technology constantly changes what was written some years ago does not apply today.

Have it your way then. Lesson learned:

“Real computer “ = personal computer
“Computational device” = every other computer type

Got ya.

The computer definition is waiting for your rewrite. Address should be well known.

I’m done with this.

nope...you are switching things around to suit your position.
I do not think an iPad can replace a computer. That was my original position on this.
Then by "real" I meant and established computer like a Macbook pro or desktop computer.

iOS in general is what makes the iPhone stand out compared to other phones. The subtle animations, the awesome hardware/software integration (especially in the 11 Pro camera app), and the stability are what do it for me.
[automerge]1582148356[/automerge]

Uh.... you obviously haven’t looked at iPadOS at all. It beats Android in almost everything.
Almost everything? So....in the things that a laptop can do that we are replacing, things like hooking up to a monitor, mouse support. USB connections, abilities to download anything , unzip it, and install it on your 100% manageable file system. Obviously those sort of things are the basics, what sort of other things are we talking about?

The issue isn't that they're not computers but iPad and even more so iPhone are lesser computers. Powered by potentially capable ARM SoC but gimped by OS and anti-consumer policies.

Windows/Linux/MacOS > ChromeOS > Android > iPadOS > iOS

Assthetically wise the iPhone's camera bump looks 100 times better than that monster on the ultra.

iPhone's flat screen (IMO) compared to the 2.5d glass curved Ultra. Also the bezels as thick as they may be are at least the same around the whole phone unlike the ultra.

The back of the whole s20 lineup looks like cheap plastic compared to the matte finish of the iPhone

Stainless steel sides makes the iPhone feel more premium

Face ID > fingerprint sensor and it's not even close.

imessage (for some users like me for work purposes)

These may be old feature on previois iPhone models but imo still beats the s20

Sorry but both of those camera bumps are not pleasing to the eye. It has become a necessity evil as cameras have improved. But now turn your phones around and look at the display. The S20 display is so much better especially at 120hz. Then there is no notch lol. The Ultra is bigger yet lighter. How is that a bad thing? I would rather have a lighter device than a heavier one if all things are equal to be honest.
Then if we are comparing features
SD Card
Better camera and zoom. Especially in low light.
Better video recording and stabilization and 8k
Better default storage staring at 128GB
Bigger battery
Faster cellular with 5G and SD modems.
Those are just off the top of my head without getting into software.

I never cared much for the back, I always have a back case on. Although I do like how Apple implemented color within the Pro Max camera module. It's green is a nice contrast with my green back case. I have a Ceramic white S10+ (the best back I've see on any phone) and barely see the back because of the back case. I'm pretty sure the back case I plan on getting for the S20 Ultra will even out the camera module.

Yea, I can't argue about Face ID. It's the BEST unlocking method. But Android has Smart Lock, so I don't need to unlock my phone when it's connected to my car, or any bluetooth device I choose. Some use smart lock with their smart watch, so they barely have to unlock their phone when it's on them.

But the cameras are not comparable. The S20 has a much bigger zoom lens and a depth sensor. It’s like saying the camera looks better on the Xr than on the 11 pro. Well yes the Xr only has one camera and the 11 pro has 3.

Have you tried the Face Unlock on the Pixel 4XL? It is even faster than on my 11 PM. Takes me straight to the home screen. No need to swipe. Wish Apple would give me the choice of straight to the home screen or swipe up.

Haven't touched a pixel since the 2 XL. I forgot the the 4 XL had biometric face unlock.

Apple was rumored to supposedly give an option, but that never happened.

Thats debatable and also not comparable considering the Ultra packs way more camera tech than the Pro Max. A more comparable debate would be the S20 plus camera bump and the Pro Max. And I would say the S20 Plus camera bump looks much much better.

Pro Max camera module with 3 individual circle lenses sticking out
VS
S20 Ultra camera module with all lenses within the glass

The camera module defiantly looks minimal on the Pro Max compared to the S20 Ultra when the phones are naked. But with a back case on, I might like the S20 Ultra module better since the lenses are under the module glass.

This is definitely something I would have to see for myself.

Fair point , I use a sleeve and no case so maybe that's why, havent seen the Ultra in a case yet
