Hi there!
I've recently bought Your app. With AW4 it's a great replacement for Fenix 5. I've tested it with running, walking, cycling and I encountered a couple of problems.
- When I review my run/walk on iP X, avg pace and time on the tab and lap avg are spot on. But when I touch the graph, all data is much slower. At the highest point it's 9'31" (attached screenshots). Why is that? Also there's no Max Pace.
- Elevation is strange. No gain and loss but the graph, laps (and Fenix 5) shows something different.
- When I run there's no cadence - just broken lines. GPS is good, iPhone is disconnected, so everything is from the watch.

Thanks for buying the app. I am glad you like it.
Firstly if you do not have cadence then you may not have given the app permission to use the pedometer. To check this run the Settings app on the iPhone and select Privacy then Motion & Fitness, then make sure Fitness Tracking is enabled and so is WorkOutDoors. Then go to the Watch app on the iPhone and select Privacy and ensure that Fitness Tracking is enabled there. You should then get steps/cadence/stride length metrics for future workouts.
The reason I mention this first is that it affects the pace figures that you are seeing for each position when touching the graph. These pace figures are instantaneous figures reported by Apple at each point of the workout. Instantaneous pace is much harder to calculate than average pace over a lap or workout because the period is much shorter.
The longer the period then the more accurate the value but the less responsive it is. For instance if you stop but you are using a 1 minute period then the pace value takes a long time to catch up. But if you use a short period then the inaccurate distances make more of a difference. Apple provide instantaneous pace values from GPS and from the pedometer. The app uses the pedometer value by default, because it is more accurate, but if it is not available (like for you) then it uses the GPS, which is much less accurate for instantaneous pace.
So the lack of pedometer data probably explains the strange instantaneous pace figures. Although to be honest even Apple's instantaneous pace from the pedometer is not great, so in the future I may use some sort of smoothing algorithm on the iPhone analysis screen.
I am not sure about the max pace and elevation issues. Please could you send me the "WKT" files so that I can analyse them. To do this tap the Export button 3 times quickly (instead of one time to export GPX) and send the WKT file to
info@workoutdoors.net. Thanks.
