Probably not, but maybe. I don't like to set myself deadlines because priorities change and some features take longer than expected.Do you think that these metrics will you present in 2022?

Yes, the ground contact time and vertical oscillation metrics have been in the app for a while, but previously only available when you run with a Stryd footpod. Now they will also be available for watchOS 9 users. That’s great! And the other metrics will be able to be viewed in WOD?
That is very strange. I have never seen that before, but the fact that it is showing some values (albeit strange ones) means that it is almost certainly showing the data that was coming from the sensor. It may have had some cadence lock issues, which are rare but possible when running.Hi cfc,
Been using the app for several months now on my AW7 and I'm really enjoying it. I had a strange issue today when I was doing an outdoors run and there seemed to be an issue with my heartrate being properly tracked. I use a Polar H10 paired directly with the watch, I don't have it paired to the phone at all. I usually bring my phone with me when I workout and listen to streaming music from the phone while the strap is paired with the watch but this morning I left my phone at home and listened to streaming music from the watch while also using paired strap. During a ~3 mile run my heartrate as tracked by the app kept creeping down even while I was running full pace, when it should normally be between about 150 to 160bpm.
I double checked that the Polar was paired with the watch which it appeared to be, I also have it set to connect to the strap within the workoutdoors app before the workout begins. Despite that my heartrate didn't appear to be accurate at all for the run. For the last portion of my workout I did a brief outdoor walk and initiated it through the default Apple workout app and it seemed to reflect the correct heartrate as measured by the Polar. When I got home I paired the strap with the phone to doublecheck the battery but it says that it's full on the Polar Beat app. I've attached a couple of screenshot, the top two are the running workouts with the heartrate drops and the last one is the walking workout through the default workout app. Any ideas why this could have happened?

Please send the wkt file to info@workoutdoors.net and will take a look when I get time. To do this tap the Export button 3 times quickly.
It is probably in the documentation but I haven't looked yet. I have been focussed on making the app make the most of the 49mm screen.@cfc : has Apple provided information yet if 3rd party apps can use the new button on the Ultra?
I haven't heard of this with Google drive but it seems quite a common problem generally. When someone says that the app won't read a GPX file then the first question I ask is if it really is a GPX file. Often it is a GPX file but has the wrong extension, or it has the right extension but the wrong contents (usually HTML).Just downloaded the app. There is a Google drive of gpx files by the trail association committee for the section of the north country trail that I’m going to do. But every time I try to open one in another app (workoutdoors or try emailing it to myself as an intermediate step to get it into workoutdoors) it seems to turn it into an XML file. Does Google drive just suck for this?

I had troubles like that when I downloaded GPX from website directly on my iPad.I haven't heard of this with Google drive but it seems quite a common problem generally. Unfortunately there isn't much the app can do about it. Sorry about that. Maybe someone else has some hints about getting GPX files from Google drive?
In theory the app should look fine on the Ultra. Even if I do not release the watchOS 9 version then Apple usually make apps built for the older models look ok on a new model. They usually just add a small black border around the edge.@cfc So, will be be able to install the wOS 9 version on the Ultra - and it will look slightly off - or will it just not be available to install on the Ultra until you release the final Ultra compatible version?
Nothing happens— it just takes me to the WOD app, but there is still nothing in my routes. When you tap on a GPX file and it opens as an XML file, tap “...” and then “Open in”
I had something like this when I was on holiday, are you trying to download the GPX via a mobile device? What I had to do was in edge if I send to files it downloaded as an html, if I just click download it downloads it to edge and then I can move the file and it imports fine!!Nothing happens— it just takes me to the WOD app, but there is still nothing in my routes.
It's kind of already there?! At least for exporting GPX files for created routes. I directly export GPX from Komoot to Workoutdoors via the share sheetA integration for automatic Download from Komoot to Workoutdoors would be cool.
Yes that is possible but a sync would be better. It's kind of already there?! At least for exporting GPX files for created routes. I directly export GPX from Komoot to Workoutdoors via the share sheet
The ability to "snap" to the nearest mile/km when you pass a marker post is on my list of features to add. It wouldn't require the action button. It would be another command that you can use the Shortcut settings to associate with any action (including the action button on an Ultra). It isn't particularly high on the list at the moment but will rise as result of your request. The workoutdoors app has freed me from Garmin and allowed me to only have 1 watch, the apple watch. To say I'm a fan of the app is an understatement. Looking forward to getting my hands on an Ultra.
The only feature/app from my garmin that I'm missing, is a 3rd party app that I use when racing:
Peter's Race Pacer
Effectively it allows you to enter the race distance, goal pace and then you hit the lap button at each km / mile board, and the distance and average pace displayed (not recorded) is rounded to .0 at that distance. It then also displays what pace you need to run to hit your target time.
With the ultra's "action" button, it's feasible for the apple watch ultra to support it now, someone (hint hint) just needs to build it.
Got you, thanks! The ability to "snap" to the nearest mile/km when you pass a marker post is on my list of features to add. It wouldn't require the action button. Glad you like the app!
Ian, anyway to have the Interval schedule to allow the use of percentage of threshold power when creating a interval workout?Yes, the ground contact time and vertical oscillation metrics have been in the app for a while, but previously only available when you run with a Stryd footpod. Now they will also be available for watchOS 9 users.
There are the usual 7 metrics for each of them available during a workout: current, average, graph, lap average, previous lap average, interval average and previous interval average. You can also analyse them in the Steps tab of the iPhone app, with graphs, maps and lap/interval breakdowns. Similar data is available in the workout summary screen of the watch app.
The running power will have even more capabilities including alerts when it goes too high or low, interval schedule power targets and also power zones. I think there are now over 100 metrics associated with running power in the latest beta (mainly due to the many "time/% in zone x" metrics).
The current version only allows interval targets to specify power in watts, but the next version of the app (which I believe you are testing) has power zones. This allows a threshold power to be defined and percentages of that can be used to define the zones.Ian, anyway to have the Interval schedule to allow the use of percentage of threshold power when creating a interval workout?

The interval targets can now be specified in zones as well as watts, so you can now define a target intensity indirectly via zones. I thought about adding intensity targets as well as zone targets but no-one has ever asked for them with heart zones, which have been in the app for many years, so I figured it wasn't necessary. However if enough people ask for them then I will add
