Hello cfc,

How to deal with crash of the app twice during the same training (fortunately recovered) ?

Thanks
Crashing is extremely rare so if it happens twice then I recommend rebooting the watch. This is because if watchOS has gone rogue, or is using a lot of resources for something else, then it will kill off apps to make room. So restarting it is the best option.

However please send the wkt file for those workouts to info@workoutdoors.net and I will take a look in case I can see something looking strange. To do this tap the Export button 3 times quickly.

Also please could you send me any log files beginning with "WatchMap" or "Jetsam". To do this go to Apple's "Watch" app on the iPhone and tap General and then Diagnostic Logs. If they appear as “null” when you try to send them then please try again in an hour or so as they sometimes seem to take a while to be available. Thanks.

Why don´t you use the new "Low Power Mode"-Option, which is within the Workout-Menu in the Apple Watch App on your phone.
With this enabled, the watch goes into "Low Power Mode", when you start a Workout, no matter which app.
Yes happy to do so, just wasn't sure on the GPS or other impacts to WOD I should be aware about in Low Power Mode.

Does WOD have the ability to give heart rate alerts? I like to do low heartrate running, on my Garmin if I go over 140bpm I get an alert and know to slow down. While Apple have added a lot of extra functionality to running on watchos9 this heart rate alerts has been missed as far as I can see.

You can set Heart Rate Alerts under Settings - Alert in the iPhone App:

How do I get the Shortcuts to appear in my AW? I created a WOD shortcut on my phone under Shortcuts -> Apple Watch -> "Start WOD".

However, when I go to the watch and click the Shortcuts app it says "no shortcuts - you can add shortcuts in the Shortcuts app of your iPhone". Which I did... must be missing a trick... also rebooted both the watch and iPhone.

And is there a way to toggle on/off Location Services via Shortcuts? Thank you

In the shortcut (on your phone), you click the "I" in the bottom of the screen, and enable "Show on Apple Watch". I believe this is off by default.

Thank you - clicked on the “i” and show on Apple Watch is enabled already. But oddly it says “this shortcut uses an action that is not supported by this Apple Watch: Set Low Power Mode”. Very odd as I have an AW8 (not SE), on the latest Watch OS, and I can manually set low power mode on the watch itself. ?

I believe the low power mode is new for this year. It may not yet have shortcut support.

Hello, I am trying to follow the tips here regarding starting WOD via Shortcuts - what I would like to do is:

Step 1) Launch WOD
Step 2) Save power (turn off as much as I can such as Bluetooth, Wifi - or is this needed for better GPS accuracy? I often run in covered areas with trees/mountains)
Step 3) Turn off Always On Display (I do not see an option in Shortcuts other than "low power mode" - is this OK or will this affect GPS results?)
Step 4) Turn on Location Services (I want to have this off by default)
Then when completing the workout, follow steps 2-4.

I do not see an option to shortcut on Location Services either?

I saw another tip above about launching a Fitness Focus (instead of Shortcut?) which is a better way to approach it or does it matter?

Thank you in advance
I am not a shortcuts expert but here is mine:

Is there a way to add a timed alert for manual intervals?

1. New interval
2. X seconds pasa
3. Alert

Yes, for every interval you can set up notifications based on time, distance, halfway point, etc.

For example in this screenshot you will get a voice and screen alert every 30 seconds when in that interval.

I believe you are referring to scheduled intervals. In my case I manually start an interval and want an alert every X seconds.

The scenario is that I am in the gym and want to track my recovery period. I don't know how much time the active period will be , I do know though that my recovery should not be more than X secs. Whenever I end an excersise, I start a new interval and I monitor the time. It would be great getting an alert instead.

Otherwise, is the following a good workaround?

Yes, that should work.

An interval schedule is often the solution (or at least a workaround) to problems where you wouldn't expect to need one.

I know it's been said before but the only thing I really need from this app now is AOD. The Action Button is easily solved by creating a shortcut.
The value of the Action Button is for “in App use” in my opinion. I wish you could ONLY enable the in-app actions and disable the “global hotkey” function all together (currently not possible).

Is it possible to have more than one workout going at the same time on WOD?

Use case: Going for a 10k run via "Running" on WOD, midway through, stopping at an outdoor park to do pullups/sit ups/etc. I would like to pause "Running" and start weight training, then end weight training and resume running again so it's not two separate runs.

Thank you
