Thanks for the great app! Would be nice to have a treadmill mode, where you can set the pace manually prior or during the run for indoor runs. This is how Coros is tracking treadmill runs...

If you have cellular connectivity on the watch it will download the maps on the fly as you go. You can also preload an area on the maps section of the app onto the watch.

I used low power mode today and didn’t download the map. Idk why and never used the Download option. I only used WOD for hiking and there was always a map on my watch. Maybe because I had my phone with my idk

You said you are on holiday? Did your watch or phone had internet connection while running? If not then you should have downloaded the map manually, because it couldn’t download it on the fly.

I‘m from the EU so we can use internet EU wide without any cost. So iPhone and Watch Are connected to the internet. Yesterday I autogenerated the route sync it to the Watch and today I started the workout on my watch. It was just a 4K and as you can see I did run mostly straightforward but was surprised there was no map. On my hikes I always had a normal map + GPX route

Maybe your watch had data roaming disabled?

If the watch has a data connection through any means (WiFi / cellular / via iPhone etc) then maps should be downloaded on demand. Otherwise you will need to send them from the iPhone app as others have described: either by selecting a rectangular area on the Maps tab of the iPhone app; or by tapping Send Map on a route that is selected in the Routes tab.

The app uses Apple's workout system which doesn't allow that. I may provide some sort of manual mechanism in the future but it is not high on my to-do list at the moment. Sorry about that.

When does WOD automatically syncs the map to the Watch? When exporting the GPX ? When opening WOD on AWU?

Either way it had always LTE. Maybe low power mode? I exported the route yesterday evening and opened WOD just right outside the hotel today after putting my watch into Low power mode.

There is no automatic synching. The app sends the tiles required for a route when you tap Send Map for that route, or sends the tiles for an area when you use the Maps tab to download an area.

It doesn't sound like an issue with sending maps from the iPhone. It just seems that you did not have a data connection from your watch (for whatever reason) so the app did not download the maps on demand. This could be because you were in another country, which is why I suggested that you may not have data roaming on your watch.

Alternatively because you say that you previously had your phone with you, it could be that your watch does not have a data connection. Again for whatever reason. It didn't matter in the past because you had your iPhone with you, which did have a data connection.

I don’t think you have roaming with Apple Watch cellular, even if you don’t have to pay extras (with different data limits) outside of your country I don’t think AW works in cellular mode.

Interesting. AWU supports roaming but found an article which says there can be some problems in Europe. Some user reported that in Austria etc they had no problems (me too, I ran there quite a few times and received notifications) but in Spain are some problems although with a different carrier. Didn’t check that, just see the dots on the wayfinder face so I assumed I have roaming.

Hello everyone I have a track I would like to track GPX the remaining distance on the track and the time when I reach the end. Thank you very much the program is just a treasure. Do you have plans to turn on the Heat and Altitude Acclimatization or similar feature in the Garmin ClimbPRO or at least find out the remaining climb height on the track GPX.

Currently GPX routes are simply displayed and you are warned when you deviate from them. There is no concept of following them, so the app cannot show your position on an elevation graph, or the remaining distance or time. Sorry about that.

I plan to enhance the route and navigation functionality in a future version to allow this. At the moment it is top of my to-do list after I have released the version supporting the always on display.

In the meantime you could start the workout and enter the route length as the fixed distance. If you only follow the route then the Remaining Distance and Finish Time metrics will give a rough estimate but not as good as when I have implemented it properly. To enter a fixed distance tap the circle with 3 dots to the right of the activity name. Then tap “Fixed Length” and then “Set Distance”.

I will probably add individual climb features at some time but they are not high on my list at the moment.

I really apologize at this question has been asked and answered. Just got a warranty replacement of my ultra. Is there a quick and easy way to restore the screen settings that are stored on my phone to this new watch?

yup on iPhone, WOD app, settings, File Management is where you can export and import if you did a manual export previously. Or if iPhone hasn't changed you can chose Send Screens to Watch & futher down you can see Send Current (or Yesterdays) Watch settings.

Do activities recorded in WOD count towards the Apple Health VO2 metric?
Yes they do, although the VO2 values are not always updated by watchOS. It only works for Running and Walking/Hiking workouts and only if you really push yourself. Also it seems that it can take a few workouts with third party apps like WOD before watchOS starts generating VO2 values from the workouts generated by them.

The new public betas are intriguing. Would love to test them all out, but if WOD became unstable that would be catastrophic (okay that is a bit melodramatic, but definitely annoying!)

Ready to become a beta tester. Already have a lot of experience in software testing. And also, if in the future there is a desire to tie machine learning, I will be glad to cooperate.

When the distances are as massively wrong as you are seeing then it usually means that you have done something strange to confuse watchOS. Have you maybe done a different activity (in any app) and told the watch that it was a running or walking activity? I have heard of people doing skateboarding or cross country skiing but have told the watch they were running. This has then made the watch think they have the wrong stride length, which has affected the distance estimates.
No, i just using running and biking for each activity. What is best to use for GPS : Apple or GPS or health?

With running, which is what you mentioned before, the pedometer is best for current pace. For distance it's up to you whether to choose GPS or Apple. GPS requires a good signal and Apple requires good calibration. When they were very different like you saw last month then calibration is probably required.

For cycling, which is in your screenshot this time, it normally doesn't matter what you use for distance. This is because I think Apple must use the GPS for their distances, because I don't think there is an alternative. However the app uses Apple by default in case they do anything clever with accelerometers.

Need a tip for cycling.

I would like to see the total time without breaks on the lap summary after 5 km. I can't find it, I only have the total time including breaks.

Is there also the possibility to display the altitude of the last 5 km on the summary?
