Кто-нибудь уже пользовался публичными бета-версиями? Как работает WOD?
Я сегодня тестирую нормальный полет. Я заметил, что в 16 лет при приближении трека я рвал контуры, а в 17 бета отлично отображал трек)

Guys may be answered elsewhere but I am wondering. If using WOD is there away to turn off the Apple GPS smoothing, especially around corners? My runs always end up short and you're through buildings and houses etc. You'll see the smoothing in action here, Apple watch red Garmin blue

When exactly will the beta version come and can you still sign up for the test. I use your app daily and would love to help you troubleshoot.

Need a tip for cycling.

I would like to see the total time without breaks on the lap summary after 5 km. I can't find it, I only have the total time including breaks.

Is there also the possibility to display the altitude of the last 5 km on the summary?
The app only provides a metric for the elapsed time for the whole workout. No-one has ever asked for it for individual laps but it seems a good idea so I will bear it in mind.

In terms of altitude do you mean some sort of rolling ascent value, like with rolling pace but showing total ascent over a configurable rolling period? I don't think anyone has ever asked about rolling values apart from pace, but again I will bear it in mind.

That is interesting. The occasional strange lines when zoomed in a lot are a long-term bug that I thought was my fault, but have never got around to investigating. If they are fixed by iOS 17 then that is good news!

I don't think that Apple smooth the route for workouts created by third party apps like WorkOutDoors, so that is probably the raw route as reported to the app.

Note that by default the app uses Apple's distance estimates, which are based on the pedometer, so GPS inaccuracies should not affect the distances reported by the app. If those are off then try calibrating the watch as described here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204516.

Request: a setting to change the background color of a data field in the Watch App. I think it would look nicer if there was no “border” around the data fields - e.g if the background was fully “black”.

Any chance you can include a metronome for cadence training at some point?
I tried a few years ago and it wasn't reliable enough because the app did so many other things, which meant that tones were occasionally delayed. I will probably revisit it in the future but it is rarely requested so not high on my to-do list. Sorry.

No probs. Yea, it's a bit niche.

Have any of the more recent watchOS beta updates made WOD more useable? I remember when the first beta dropped the app wasn’t so responsive to touch. I am keen to try the beta but WOD working is essential for me!

Hi, the touch is still unresponsive however jumping out of the app and back in activates the touch menus. It’s painful but it works.
WOD works well under 10 other than the touch issue

There appears to be an issue with background audio too. I listen to podcasts using Pocketcasts. When using WOD podcasts do not automatically continue, episode to episode. I assumed it was a Pocketcasts issue (and it still might be), but I do not have the same issue when tracking with the native workouts app or others like YouRace. Minor issue. Double-press the crown to PC and select the next episode.

Done something stupid and signed up for a 50k Ultra Marathon. I'm now really looking forward to WOD AOD update.
Given the first beta is not even out yet and is likely to be less than robust compared to the current WOD, you'd be a brave man using it for a key race. Got another watch on the other wrist? ;)

You don‘t need AOD for an Ultra.

I ran a 60 km Ultra without AOD.
I've ran many a run without needing an AOD, however this is a trail self navigation through the Scottish highlands. Whilst I don't 'need' an AOD, it would certainly be a massive help for this type of event.

If I ever do a run while the phone is with me the routes go through houses and heavily cut corners. If you don’t have an S8 or Ultra, the watch will use the phone’s GPS which leads to inaccurate plots. So I’m curious, which Watch do you have and did you have the phone with you? If you must run with the phone, make sure you turn off Bluetooth to break the connection to the phone before starting the run.

As always, your use-case might be different and AoD might be more suited to the way you use the watch but I have had no issues following a tricky route without it. I've done many on and off-track events with WOD and have found the wake-on-raise has been so responsive and reliable that I often forget that I don't have AoD. When its available I will give it a try but if it impacts battery life in any meaningful way I'm fairly sure I will turn it off again.

I have also been saved several times by having the alert that lets me know I'm straying from the route in situations where I wasn't paying attention.

Pro whitewater kayaker here. Just switched from a garmin Fenix to an Apple Watch ultra. Took a while to figure out but after getting WorkOutDoors and Athlytic, the ultra has been amazing! Couple questions I have about WorkOutDoors though:

Is there a way to have the screen always on? As of right now it turns on and off every two seconds because it thinks every paddle stroke is me raising my wrist. I’m actually worried this drains even more battery, but maybe not. It also turns on just after it’s out of view during my normal paddle stroke, which is a little annoying.

Is there a way to show elevation drop reference the start point? I just want to see how far I’ve dropped from the start of the river. Otherwise going up and down waves thinks I’m climbing and descending constantly which makes for weird elevation numbers. That and maybe it going underwater a fair amount could throw off the air pressure? Just guessing.

And last thing is about uploading to strava. I use the paddling activity but when loading it to strava it automatically loads it as stand up paddle boarding. Is there a way to change that?

Thanks
Tad
