I rode with my bike yesterday and I have a big difference between WOD and Strava. Elevation is 1079 with WOD and 839 with Strava. Who is right? I don' t know if I need to change something in the setting. Fortunatly, It's not like that all the time but sometimes did.
Thanks

WorkOutDoors uses the barometer whereas Strava often use a terrain database. There are pros and cons of each.

Some people have found sudden jumps with the always on altimeter, which is why it is not the default. So I recommend not using it at the moment.

Hey! Recently purchased WOD app and have been loving it. Just edited a interval training that I am excited to test out but I had a question. I have seen many say that there is a countdown when doing interval work but is there a section to customize how long the countdown is? I saw a setting that just has the option to have it activated but wondering if it was possible to actually edit the time. Thank you!

Sorry, you can't customise the length of the countdown. Glad you like the app though!

Just to add to that question, is there a countdown in between, for example, warm up and fast/recover, or its just a quick transition? Will be first time using it this evening and just want to have a heads up. 😅

There is a countdown before every new interval. The type of countdown depends on the type of duration. So time based countdowns for intervals with time durations, distance based countdowns for distance intervals etc.

Is there a way to skip to the next interval on a run?
Yes, by using the "New Interval" command. This jumps to the next interval if you are using an interval schedule, or starts a new interval if you are not and want to manually split the workout into intervals.

If you have the Ultra then the default operation for the action button is to do this. Otherwise go to Settings / Commands / Shortcuts and configure a gesture to perform the "New Interval" command (e.g. a triple tap, or both side buttons). Alternatively configure the screen with a "New Interval" button and tap that to move to the next one.

Hi CFC!
I'm having trouble transferring settings to watch (AWU). Until now it was all OK, and I was trying to send new route and map. After few unsuccessful attempts I did reboot both and then have uninstalled App on watch and reinstalled. Now I can't send yesterdays settings to restore settings on watch. Watch state is Activated and Watch App State is Active when wrist is up. Phone app also crashed few times after unsuccessful send Any idea?

The first thing to check is that you have Bluetooth enabled on both devices or they are both connected to the same WiFi network.

After that rebooting is best. If, as in your case, that doesn't work then the usual reason is that you have another app that is transferring a large amount of data, in which case it's worth waiting a few hours.

After that reinstalling the watch app (not the iPhone app) is the next thing to try. If that doesn't work, as it didn't for you, then the last resort is to unpair the watch from the phone and re-pair it.

The app uses the standard iOS/watchOS mechanism to transfer data and that sometimes gets confused or is busy transferring data for another app.

Thank you, after re-pairing all back to normal.

Not sure if this has been asked or a feature already that I have not yet found but just in case, is there any way to track how many miles have been ran in perhaps a weekly view? I know Apple Health tracks it but its monthly. Also, anyway to incorporate which shoes were used to keep track of mileage? Thank you! Btw, used the interval setting for the first time yesterday. Loved it. Excited to use it again.

In the workouts screen on iphone you can filter (top right icon) by for example Run and Group By Week.

Shoes tracking is not possible, I use HealthFit for that.

As @mgmooij says, you can filter/sort/group workouts by using the icon in the top right of the Workouts tab. Grouping by something (such as week/month/year) makes the app show totals.

I often get asked about adding gear tracking. However I think of it as something that needs to be tracked across all workout apps because many people use different apps for different situations. For example some people only use WOD when they need to navigate (crazy as that sounds 😀), so it makes sense to track gear at the Health system level rather than in the app.

Luckily, again as @mgmooij says, HealthFit provides gear tracking (amongst many other great features), and it works at the Health system level and so can track gear across multiple apps.

I may add gear tracking to WOD in the future, purely because of the number of requests that I get for it, but it isn’t high on my to-do list because I feel it should be external to the app and because HealthFit already provides it.

Is there in any way any little solution to mimic the PacePro Feature from Garmin? I know I cloud set up a scheduled workout with a distance goal of 42,2km and get an estimated total workout and + setting up a pace range and get notified if I’m behind.

Is there anything else I could set up? (funniest thing I could think of is setting up 42 intervals… :D)

There isn't anything comparable to PacePro at the moment. I will probably consider something similar after I have improved the navigation features to follow a route.

The filter/sort/group feature is on the Workouts tab of the iPhone app, not the watch app. Tap the circle icon containing 3 horizontal lines. It is in the top right corner of the screen.

Nice to hear something is maaaaybe considered :)

Do you think it is a good idea to do 42 splits as intervals to mimic such feature and get the paces I want each km? Can WorkOutDoors handle so many steps?

There shouldn't be a problem with that many intervals in a schedule, but it sounds painful to create!

Apologies if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find something similar via search.

I'm using WOD for quite some time now, what a brilliant app! 3 weeks ago, I started using a Stryd pod, and it paired perfectly with WOD. My only problem: The average ground contact time and vertical oscillation are way off since then in Apple Health.

I did some research and testing, as far as I can see - looking at the Apple Health data written by WOD - it seems like WOD writes some outliers to Apple Health. Here is an example from the oscillation data: 6,1 - 6,1 - 6,1 - 6,2 - 6,3 - 5870 - 6,3 - 3427 - 6,3 - 6,1 - 6,1 - 6,1
Obviously, the numbers in the thousands ruin the average. The same happens with ground contact time.

The surprising thing is, if I export a FIT file from WOD and upload it, for example to Runalyze, everything looks fine.

Looking in the FIT file, the outliers seem not to be present there.

So the problem seems to exist only on the WOD -> Apple Health path, not on the WOD -> FIT file -> Runalyze path.

Any idea how this could happen?
