My great hope is that I can turn off most of the UI changes that suck for usability.

That was a joke. All this Liquid Glass talk, it's a semi transparent window with round edges folks, it's not revolutionary nor is it the biggest update to iOS visually. It looks the same... I think it may be time to go back to Samsung. I miss my Galaxy Z Fold 4, I can't believe I traded it in for the 16 Pro Max. That Apple Intelligence tricked me, that's on me, but not again.

Sorry to hear. I just upgraded both of my parents to iPhone 16 Pro. It's nice and all but still much prefer my Fold 6 (or even my previous Fold 4).

This aero glass thing is not good. All through the keynote there were massive legibility issues.

It also just looks kinda dated to me, but maybe for people who never used windows Vista it won't have that same context.

Seems like fine updates. Most excited about the iPadOS updates. Least excited that they didn't talk much about overhauling things to be more performant and fix bugs, but those days are probably behind us. With agile development being so popular nowadays it's all about moving fast and breaking things or your competitors will eat you. What I wouldn't give for a Snow Leopard year.

As a developer, I loved that song. A nice review feels incredible when you put a lot of work into an app. 🥰

Being able to just run my own app on my own phone that I purchased without paying $100/year and going through all these hoops and setting up tax accounts and everything would be even better...

You should probably read up on OneUI 7 before going back. I absolutely hate it since updating a few months ago. The majority of the subreddit seems to agree.

Complete snooze fest, except the iPadOS improvements. My god, they are stretching with talking about how awesome all these minor little tweaks are.... As a professional App Developer, not very excited. Sounds like Platforms State of the Union is going to be a bunch of junk AI. Hopefully, I am wrong.
