Its the security thing FileVault, nothing new

EDIT: Guess its nothing new, just like my post, i was a tad late

OK, so from that screenie we see that..

1. MacPro's casing will stay the same (at least from the side, maybe dual drives, which would only change the front)
2. iMacs and MacBook Pro's seem to look the same, obviously no news about proc's (Merom).
3. The Nano, looks wise, is the same - at least from that banner - surely they wouldn't advertise an 'old' product if they plan on releasing a new one - maybe we will get that 8GB/12GB size-jump, though *please*
4. Confirmation of Leopard, and its advertised 'look' - the black fur, very nice.
5. A lot of icons I can't quite make out what they are.. maybe one of them is for 'Cells' or whatever that spread-sheet-program-budget-Excel-thingys called.
6. Possible backlight keyboard on BlackBook.

So I'm guessing we see no Nano revisions (aesthetics), same with MBP and MacPro.

I believe that that is FileVault. From 10.3. Nothing new with that icon.

EDIT: beaten by 3…

Icons from top to bottom, left to right:

Universal Application
iMac from the side
iPod nano
Automator
Xgrid
Spotlight
FileVault
Quicktime
New Leopard Disc
White MacBook
AppleScript
Black MacBook
Back of Cinema Display
Core Video
UNIX
X11
Core Audio
Intel Core Duo
xCode
Power Mac/Mac Pro?
Dashboard
MacBook Pro from the side
Terminal
Interface Builder
.Mac
Java
White MacBook from front and side
iMac
Rendezvous
VoiceOver
Black iPod nano
64-Bit
Core Image
Bluetooth
iPod nano from the side
Mac mini
Quartz
Finder
.Mac Sync
MacBook Pro

<Phew!> All accounted for.

Ignoring the File Vault icon....

Where are the Cinema Displays? And the PM G5 graphic - and others - could just peel off on the day to reveal unannounced goodies underneath. I wouldn't read too much into a poster.

It actually says "...nt platform". I'd hazard a guess the full slogan is "Platform-Independent Platform".

Hmm.. yeah, It could. Like I said, why would Apple advertise 'dated' products (Nano, PMG5) etc, on that banner, if they were planning to release new ones?

By the way, I wanna be the first to say it... THERE'S NO 30GB OR 60GB IPOD ON THERE! Meaning... who knows... :p

It's not. I saw another photo that showed just the slogan.

Welcome to WWDC 06
You chose the right platform.

Your "n" is actually the bottom of an "h"

I wrote this on the other thread with the same theme, but what would you guys say to this particular banner meaning absolutely nothing? I mean, wouldn't Steve want to suprise people during the keynote about new products instead of having them posted on banners before they walk in? They might unveil the banners AFTER the keynote.

Just a thought.

I agree with a few previous posters that this looks more like a 10.5 poster exalting all the platforms, applications and services that it runs on and manages.

I don't know, it's more advertising-ish of current items than anything. The only new item there is the Mac OS X disc image.

Looks like FileVault to me, though I don't have any way of zooming in on it, so I could be wrong.

Darnit, beaten by 5 people. Why don't I ever look before I post...

Someone pull the covers off the other ones i want to see whats under those

Also do you reckon the mountain bike has any significance

lol some dude must have run into the wall.

That's not a Cinema Display next to the disk. It looks like a square with something in front of it, a flower or a torch (flame torch) something like that.

Actually, enlarging it makes it look like a candle in front of a parchmentor stone.

Rosetta's official logo?

Notice the flame-shaped bit in the centre on top of what looks like a candlestick.

Well ususally they have some banners up with existing products just to sort of boost morale for the atendees. Decoration. As you can see, there are other banners in the room that are covered by black cloth. You bet that the answers to all of our questions are right under those black sheets.

I am seeing the .Mac icon on that banner and am really hoping that represents the addition of free .Mac service, or the inclusion of .Mac with iLife '07, at the very least would be nice.

The significance is of what is not there

Like the 30GB and 60GB videos! I'm not exactly jumping for joy at the thought of another new iPod.. but, its the only Apple hardware (well, and Xserve) - that isn't on the banner.

Must be a reason why... They could still put the Nano, PMG5, iMac, MBP on there - if all they're getting is internal changes.

I guess we'll see on the day. Maybe its a decoy to make us think the only new product is an iPod Video... who knows.

I remember someone/something saying that there is no icon for Rosetta, point being that you will never need to see it/click on it.

Doesn't mean it doesn't need a logo. You never need to click on Core Audio but it has a logo.

I'm just suggesting things, it's not a cinema display so what is it?
