Doesn't mean it doesn't need a logo. You never need to click on Core Audio but it has a logo.

I'm just suggesting things, it's not a cinema display so what is it?

exploding power bricks?

I'm wondering about the coffee cup to the left of the iMac. Is Apple going to start selling coffee?

I'm just kidding... :p

It's not. I saw another photo that showed just the slogan.

Welcome to WWDC 06
You chose the right platform.

Your "n" is actually the bottom of an "h"
I think my slogan is a whole lot better. "You chose the right platform"? Is this Apple or BART?

The real question is who is digg user neiltc, and how did this image get into his Safari cache in the first place? ;)

Why can't we "zoom, and digitally enhance" the covered banners, just like in the movies?

So we can assume that anything represented on that banner are things that WON'T CHANGE, at least in terms of the icons and the form factor (for the hardware). Do you guys see any key technologies that are missing on the banner?

Missing hardware: Mac Mini, iPod video, Xserves

Missing software: iChat AV, Safari, and Expose to start. What else?

I don't think this reveals much at all as the banners arrive to the conference hall already covered. So this banner obviously wasn't all that secret. However, the one next to it is.

Missing software: ???

Most of those (software) icons have relevance to Mac developers. So, for instance, there's no mention of iTunes, or Boot Camp, or iChat; which needed necessarily feature much in a developer related banner.

This is terribly exciting!

I guess the Mac OS X Leopard disc image is "new" by most accounts. It appears to be almost identical to the Tiger disc, except much darker?

This is a generic banner..Apple would never put anything new on a banner before the keynote..
Anything new is covered in black and if that pic ever got out the person responsible for the security of it would be fired asap.

I disagree a bit. iTunes is not really considered a part of OS X so it's never included in any promos regarding OS X. iChat, however, is always included. You'll see that Jobs almost always demos new versions of iChat at WWDC. And Boot Camp, for sure, is a big deal to developers. I'm assuming that it'll get a major make-over, including the icon itself.

Prominince Of That 64-bit Block Makes Me Lean Toward Full Core 2 Launch Monday

Prominince Of That 64-bit Block Makes Me Lean Toward thinking there will be a Full Core 2 Launch across the board on all models Monday. That idea is buttressed by the fact that all Mac models are now in the refurbished cycle. Would make good marketing sense as well as good long term sense so developers won't have to worry about 32-bit Yonah versions for more than a few more years when they will be able to say "64-bit Mac required" - including all the G5's out there of course. Alden has been pitching this idea for a long time. I'm just saying... :p

if only he were to get of so lightly. I'd say his family.......... well we all know what steve would hav done

The thing that caught my eye was the black laptop with a backlit keyboard...

I would guess this is the MBP redesign. Although, a backlit keyboard would be a good feature to further seperate the blackbook from the white macbook

This is the part of the week leading up to WWDC that Jobs points and laughs at us. :D

I was just hoping that maybe the banner was like the Da Vinci code indicating that the next Mac Pro would be run by Unicorn tears and baby's dreams, with a case made of gold and rainbows manufactured by fairies and gnomes.

Well, as a corollary to your hypothesis on the prominence of the 64 bit logo (which, by the way was just as big last year) then the very small Intel Core logo would suggest that Intel processors will be less involved in the Keynote.

What's Alden's favourite colour? Does he enjoy windy walks on the beach at sunset?

Yeah, but we get our own back. Eventually all the money we throw at him after the event is going to give him some sort of paper (or my case, plastic, our money isn't paper) cut and have him jumping around with his finger in his mouth yelling.

"Dammit why did I go with socks and sandals? I don't get the support I need when I'm jumping around wit my paper-cut finger in my mouth. Should've worn the sneakers....Um, Microsoft has no class!!"
