Impressed with the pictures at night.

Did your Z2 came with the pogo charger?

Does anyone know if every Z2 will come with it or just the Asian model?

What's a pogo charger? Mine just had the standard charger and USB cable.

Here are the first pics taken with the 17.1.A.2.55 firmware update. Will have more through the weekend as I write my review based on the new firmware. More photos here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjWe7iCe

(Yes, I KNOW IT'S DUSTY!)

Someone asked how the video in 1080 was. I shot these the other night (before the firmware update):

Saw an unboxing video where the Z2 came with two chargers: the standard one with the USB cable and another one designed to be use with the pogo pins the Z2 has at the bottom or whatever they're called.

So now that you've owned the device for a couple of days, how's the battery life?

Better, worst or similar to the G2/Note 3?

I am interested in battery life as well. We know it takes great photos. These pictures are amazing. I also wonder when it is coming to the US carriers? Does anyone know?

Here is the battery screen shot from a few days ago. This was with 3 hours of screen usage, no battery saving features and not using Stamina mode with no Auto brightness.. I think the battery is pretty decent.

Took these photos from lunch yesterday at a place I eat regularly. These were taken with the Xperia Z2 (with the new firmware 17.1.A.2.55 that was just released):

Now here are photos taken back when I had the Z1...

The Z2 was taken during lunch, but I wasn't sitting by the window so it was all indoor lighting.

The Z1 was taken during dinner, almost at the same place where I sit and it was also with indoor lighting. I don't have any recent pictures taken with the Z1 since December so I'm not sure if any new firmware updates improved the camera but you can pretty much see why I was frustrated with the Z1 as most pictures taken indoors looked terrible.

As for benchmarking...

Antutu benchmark in case anyone is wondering. Just did this test while working on my review. Interesting to see that Antutu rates the Note 3 higher than the Z2.

But then again, you have to take these benchmarks with a grain of salt especially with Samsung products involved ;)

Big improvement over the Z1 photos, and must say your photos just make me hungry :) you have access to a lot of fab food I'd kill for :)

I was just thinking the same thing--making myself a note to not check in on this thread on an empty stomach. ;)

So 3 hours screen on time with 14 hours total and just 25% left? That seems too little for a 3200 battery I must say. I've seen the M8 get over 6 hours screen on time with 1 day total.

Did you have 4G on all the time?

Man this makes me super hungry too! :D:D

The camera is really good. Can't wait for a comparison with the SGS5 to see which one is better.

That battery screen shot was taken on the second day of using the Z2. Someone told me to install GSAM to get a more detailed and.accurate battery benchmark which I did today.

Also as for people using the M8 screen for 6 hours, I'd that with full brightness? Mine is also on 80-90% brightness.

If you have the brightness up that high then it makes sense for the battery stats. Plus if you have been taking all those high res pictures I'm sure that contributes as well. If I knew this was coming to AT&T or Verizon soon I might not get the S5. Do you know how well the Z2 manages memory?

I never had any issues with the memory so far. With all the apps I have been using all day, I have about 1GB out of 3GB free. Unused RAM is wasted RAM anyway ;)

Your so fickle ;)

Doesn't it have 3gb, I'm sure it's not left wanting memory management wise :)

True. Brightness probably was the reason.

I always have my brightness at 100% and I usually get 3 hours screen on time with 1 day off charge. This with the 2100 SGS3 battery.

I expected at least 5 hours screen on time with max brightness with the Z2 3200 battery. Same with the M8 or SGS5.

If I can't get that then I see less reason to upgrade to one of these new phones, although IPS displays are so bright compared to my AMOLED one on the SGS3, so maybe I could have brightness much lower. When I had the Nexus 5 the display was so bright that I could get the same 100% brightness of my SGS3 with just 40% on the Nexus 5.

Just ordered a white Z2 from Japan that should be here by sometime next week. I was really hoping to get a black version but paying a massive premium to get one imported from Taiwan wasn't worth it.

First thing I'm going to do when I get this is (without much trouble, hopefully) get a working CM11 build up. I've never used Sony's stock software, but I don't think I can survive without AOSP.

Has anyone seen Sony's msrp for the Z2? The cheapest I've seen from third party sellers is $770 on ebay with shipping on April 20. For those of you that have bought one what did you pay?

soulreaver99, if I dislike the size of the Note 3, would I also hate the Z2?

If I see the Note 3 as too big, would I feel the same with the Z2?
