Turned off TT on my 12 PM and screen is flawless. Coming from the regular iPhone 11 and the PM screen is a substantial upgrade in every facet.
My 12 Regular screen is flawless as well; whites are white and colors pop. Happened to be in Costco today and all their 12 series iPhones were washed out and and had a yellow hue. My 11Pro had those issues. Got lucky this time around.

Hello, I bought an iPhone 12 pro Max (with the „Good Samsung panel“) last week. I was able to compare it with the same model yesterday (from my brother) and found that my 12 pm got a yellow/green veil on the display compared to the other. In addition, the other 12 pm is brighter at 100%. I guess that's why I'll send mine back. Mine also has the problems with black displays and also a gap between the display and the frame. I Used an iPhone XS Max and have a Xiaomi mi 9t (new €188) for 6 months with a Samsung super amoled that can display brighter and a clearer white. (see photo, iPhone 12 pm 100 percent without True Tone)

I think people need to understand that the 12 pro Max has a "warm" color profile. If you compare to the X to 11, it is warmer. That is not necessarily a bad thing.
If people don't like it, it is a bad thing and I don't like it.

Currently I have good color filter setting, but I thought that before. Just hope I am right this time. But it should not be needed and should not be so fiddly to adjust.

Agree on that. I wouldn’t mind if it would be only warmer. But colors of taken photos should be like they really are. At least on phones display.

btw. HDR Videos looking great for some reason 🤷🏻‍♂️

I respectfully disagree. My 12 Regular has a very cool, bright white, color popping display. I have compared it to numerous 12 series models (Mini, Regular, Pro and Pro Max) at several retail stores and all of them have varying levels of a “yellow” hue; mine does not. In fact, when TT is activated on my 12, it is still cooler and more vibrant than the display models.
Even at night, I turn on Night Shift to lessen the strain on my eyes because the display is so “cool”. That is how the screens should be and are intended to be.

Went in for a genius appointment yesterday and they compared my 12 pro with one of their demo phones. The demo phone (also a 12 pro) had a normal white screen. They could see that my screen was more yellow and offered a refund even though i was already past the 14 day refund period. They told me that its likely a software issue and apple ie investigating it. I kind of doubt it, unless the demo phones are running on an unreleased version of ios with the screen fix

I wish the people who claim its simply an intentional warmer calibration would read this or any of the 100 other posts that prove there are normal, clear, non tinted 12s out there. Apple doesn’t even do calibration, the panel manufacturer does. Tolerances are really relaxed this year. Apple needs to hold its suppliers accountable for low grade tinted panels.

Have you even seen the pictures in this thread? Or did you just read the title and come in to make this generic recycled comment? It’s pretty obvious to anyone with eyes that this goes beyond just a warmer profile. Come on man how many examples and posts is it going to take?

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pics comparing my phone to all of the other yellow/green/dull/washed out screens at all the retail locations I’ve been to; however, here are two pics of my 12 Regular with TT AND NS off. Pics were taken with an older iPad Air, of which, doesn’t do much justice. Display is cool, vibrant and whites are white.

Even though you took the pic in dark mode to try and hide it, it’s still pretty obvious from the white app icons that your phone has the tint issue.
Everyone claiming they have the bestest most purest white screen ever never have the pics to back it up! And when they do, in most cases it turns out their definition of white is not the same as most people in the thread expect anyway.

Surely they are out there, but I'm yet to see one.

Also, I find it funny how some people describe their amazing screens as milky white, when milk is usually yellow tinted anyway.

I just came from a genius appointment. Told them about the green flickering in low light as well as the yellow tint. Came back and said they have internal documentation about a software fix upcoming, which I’m guessing is for the green flicker. Guess I’ll wait and see what happens, since they weren’t gonna do a hardware swap and I’m outside the return window.

Should be snow white and don’t eat the yellow snow lol.

Some more pics/evidence for the collention. Serial starts with G0NDL. Brightness at 50% set by Siri. True Tone and night shift off. 12 pro max to the left, XS max to the right.
more notable with your own eyes with phones next to eachother. Not the worst I’ve seen here but it’s there. The XS max does “feel” like a crisper white
