How accurate is that good panel and bad panel table. I have G9N Samsung Panel. My display is warm. My display is green. My display got black flickers. When i switch off auto brightness off my display goes extremely bright. My display is defo not extremely yellow as posted by some. Im getting a replacement but in two minds now what if that unit is worse than current one. My partners Pro has G9Q panel and looks no different to my Pro Max.

The second i switch off color tint. I can see the difference from miles but im still in two minds if its yellow or greens screwing it up. Screen of my 5 year old son’s iPad 8 is way superior than my Pro Max.

I don't know. I've seen enough evidence to believe that there may be some truth to it. I'm not totally sure G9N, G9P, and G9Q are panel grades though. It's possible that, like Apple serials, they indicate which factory the display was built at, and it's possible the G9N factory has better quality control, or maybe G9P and G9Q factories have lower yields for whatever reason and are forced to pass displays that might not be quite up to the mark. If it's factory identifiers and not grades, you might get some bad G9N panels still, and there would probably be some good G9P and G9Q panels as well. I believe the table is from a Chinese forum or something, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have more insight than we do because people in China might know someone who works in these factories and could get more information about what's going on than we can.

I hate True Tone and Night Shift lol. They sounds great in theory, but looking at a screen with them on just looks horrible to me... on any device, not just the iPhone 12.
Normally I would agree but my iPad Pro with TT on still looks fantastic. Honestly everything about the iPad Pro is fantastic, Apple really nailed it when they made this thing.

I fully support this thread, but honestly both of these phones are good in my opinion. Really stretching to find a yellow tint.
yeah, probably doesn't come across in the photo, but the phone on the left is almost orange, and as others have noted...it appears like True Tone and/or night shift are on, but alas, they are in undoubtedly turned OFF

Pacific Blue Pro Max 256gb finally arrived today. The screen is a little bit warmer than my 11 Pro Max, but certainly not “yellow”.

True Tone doesn’t make my screen blueish when outdoors as mentioned in some previous posts, it looks the same no matter whether it’s indoor or outdoor. (True Tone on)

I wonder if there's anyone here with a Silver iPhone PM and a yellow screen?

Graphite and Gold seem to be affected, Pacific Blue seems to be 50/50. By now i didn't read anything about a silver one with a yellow screen.

Incorrect. I recalibrated both my MacBook Pro and 4K display using a colorimeter yesterday for 6500K both of them look nothing like my 12 PM
I think this has been understood. These panels are 6500k nominal, but with incorrect primaries saturation. I have tested this myself, see post #1,805.

You say they are supposed to be 6500K, but based on this thread, many are not. Just from today, 2 posts are from people who actually verified the calibration and they were at ~6300-6400K.

Don’t think it is normal, it is not. Don’t settle.
Again, 6500k nominal.

Yes, the color temperature and color accuracy are good, and it's not too warm, but there is a green tint to everything, which is measurable by looking at an RGB balance chart:

These cameras doesn’t seem to capture the yellow problem properly, it’s clearly more obvious with naked eye
