I found it again. I don't know which display was installed in the first 12 Pro but regarding that list, maybe one of the LGs.

The first 12P was terrible. Yellow tint and the black flickering.

The 12PM was bought directly at Apple Store in Stuttgart (Germany). The flickering is still there, but much more better compared to my first 12pro. The rest is almost perfect to me. The 12P was sent back and I got my money back already.

I am still on thinking if I will stay with the size of Max. But more and more I beeing accustom with it. I will see, I have time until friday.

I couldn't find what does the display code means, one of you still have the link to the post?

SN of 12PM = F2LDK
SN of my Display = G9N03
Same SN as mine.

if you think that just a simply OS setting can fix this, i hope i get customers like you when i develop a product. The display have phisical and building limitations and after the display is out of Samsung going to assambly with an pretty iPhone, you cant fix those limitations. But keep talking with no idea, if you are happy lying yourself thinking that Apple can fix hardware issues with magic updates XD
From what I've seen from you so far, I highly doubt you'll be developing any worthwhile products in this lifetime...

God. I have no idea what to do with mine.

I have a 12 Pro Max. It has a slight yellow tint (warmer screen I guess) and it also has the annoying black flicker issue. I checked like others here said and my screen is G9Q. No idea what that is because it doesn’t match any of the chart numbers so I don’t know what my screen is.

The tint is pretty minor where it’s noticeably more yellow than my iPhone 7+ but it’s not as bad as phones I’ve gotten in the past (and returned). Doing the screen lottery right now seems like it’ll be a nightmare. I’ve never mass returned phones before and don’t want to get stuck with a worse phone if I get barred by Apple after the 4th time or something. Based on what I’ve read, it’s happening on almost every phone. I don’t really want to return it and then get stuck with the same ugly tint or a worse tint trying again.

I have until Jan 8 to return it and I very well might just return it and wait a few months to try again.

This is the third year in a row I’ve bought the new iPhone at launch and the screen is trash. It’s very frustrating that such an expensive product has so many quality issues.

Does anyone know at what point your account gets banned for excessive returns ? My 12 Pro Max and the one that was supposed to be for my wife has this issue. If I return these two and buy another set and those end up being bad as well, did I ass out ?

if you guys get a good unit / already have one, how long are you planning on holding onto it ?

still upgrading next year or ?

I’ve been upgrading every 2 years, but I might keep my 12 for a while because I honestly really like it. But of course once the 13 comes out I’ll probably start slowly convincing myself I need it.

Theoretically, they could add more accessibility settings that allow for more control over the white balance. That way each individual person can calibrate it to their liking. Now, will Apple do that? I have no idea.

I was just like you. I could deal with the tint issue but what made me order a replacement was the camera issue when taking videos. This is a video of another person with the same problem. I couldn't stand it.

The way I dealt with the green tint was by going into the accessibility menu and turned on the color filter and using the Color Tint option. I placed the iPhone side by side with the iPad Pro and played with the sliders until I got a similar result using multiple pictures with some different gray shades. It wasn't perfect but it was better.

I upgraded from my iPhone X, bought in Nov 2017. This phone has been perfect from day one. Zero issues, perfect display. Right now the battery capacity is 90% after three years of constant abuse. Sadly I had to go back to the X since I returned the Pro Max. The worst part of it is that I couldn't transfer the data back to the X since the Pro Max's iOS version is greater. I'm regretting erasing the X after moving to the Pro max.

All three 12PM's that I've used had this issue.

I did that as well. I had success using the color tint method but also keeping night shift on with a little warmness added and set it on permanent. I am happy enough.

However, in my mind it doesn’t make much sense to compare the iPad Pro display which is LED vs your OLED iPhone. Even when I had my Xs it looked much different than my own iPad Pro.

What i have noticed is that this only happens on 60FPS on any mode. If you change it to 24 or 30FPS this issue is not there. So i feel this could be solved via sw update? Also my display panel is G9N thank god for that.

Oh man. I tried messing with the color filter stuff and it actually looks a bit better to me (more normal instead of tinted yellow)? It obviously loses some brightness and color pop but that’s better than the yellow tint.

Still, I’m leaning towards returning this before my return date. I shouldn’t have to mess with that to make my screen look decent on a $1,300 phone. Ridiculous.

I just really need a phone for work since my iPhone 7+‘s charging port doesn’t work anymore. I was really hoping this was the year. Silly me for thinking that.

How do I find out the display s/n of my 12 Pro Max without downloading a Chinese application and allowing this app access to my iPhone?

I am/was in the same spot. I returned 2 iPhone 12PM. This issue plus some more (flickering and cpu throttling) made me return the devices. For now.
I will wait some time and try again to play lottery. The other issues will be fixed with iOS updates (application updates). The yellow screen won’t.

Where were you noticing the CPU throttling? I just tried to play the Pathless on Apple Arcade and my phone dimmed 3 minutes in.

Honestly they already improved it with 14.2 a bit. It was terrible before. But still some probs with the A14 on the iPad Air and iPhone 12. it happens while gaming longer time. But this is for sure just update of iOS or optimizing the apps/games for the processor.

you will find some comparison and tests here:

I think you will only notice it when you game a lot and longer time.

this is actually not a problem for me, but the sum of the problems at this price tag is unacceptable for me.

Just hoping that everything get fixed soon, and panels will be better next weeks. The iPhone 12 PM is such a great/sexy device. It was hard af to return it...

Apple had thousands of people testing the iPhone 12 models as well as iOS 14. I don’t understand how nobody spotted the yellow screen problem

Apologies if this has been said/answered already...

So.. my previous phone was an iPhone 6s and I now have an iPhone 12 mini. Straight out of the box I noticed the yellow tint... but... if I turn off True Tone the screen looks fine - white's are a little warmer than my iPhone 6s.. but that's a good thing IMO.

I'm hoping a software update to True Tone will make it look better.
