Apple had thousands of people testing the iPhone 12 models as well as iOS 14. I don’t understand how nobody spotted the yellow screen problem
I’m telling you it is by design. 11 Pro was yellower than previous iPhones too.

They do become white over time. But may not become as white as a 7 if you keep TT on.

Ive been again comparing my partners 12 pro and my 12 pro max. She is happy with warm screen plus her device is a lot brighter and crispier than mine and less warmer.

Also her device’s brightness stays uniform when i switch off auto brightness where as on my 12 pro max when i turn off auto brightness the screen just goes extremely bright under same indoor lighting conditions. (slider set at 25, 50 & 75 %)

Panel on my 12 Pro Max is just dim and washed out and its suppose to be Samsung good one. On her 12 pro its Samsung poor one as per the table shared on here. Id take that screen panel all day long minus the warm temp.

Did some addl. subjective testing.
TrueTone is extremely aggressively leaning towards yellow/orange on my 12PM.
Without TT, whites are more on the bluish side, and Light Mode gives better colors than Dark Mode.

Something‘s completely off on the software-side IMHO.
I don‘t have any green shimmers in blacks, at least I haven‘t noticed any yet.

Just received a week 47 PB Pro Max - serial starting G6TDQ. Left is my week 41 F2LDJ and right is the week 47 (1.5 weeks old) G6TDQ:

Which screen is better? The left screen flickers more in a dark room playing a black HDR video whereas the right phone only flickers slightly and not as often.

Testing out Verizon's network with the iPhone 12 mini. I don't know what I am more disappointed in, how much slower Verizon is where I live vs Sprint/T-Mobile network OR this horrible green/yellow tint on the iPhone 12 mini. Getting 70 Mbps with my iPhone 12 mini on Verizon's 5G Vs 42 Mbps on Sprint/T-Mobile LTE with my Xs. Heck, Verizon's LTE was low 20s Mbps.

And that green/yellow tint... I'm sorry, warm or cold, whites should still look, well, white not have an overlay of green/yellow on it. This is a defect, but probably a moot point for me because of Verizon's slower network performance.

Just downloaded 14.3 beta 2 and that green/yellow tint is still there! The yellow banner on top Google's looks richer though :p The only thing I love about the iPhone 12 mini is the size. Perfectly engineered, but not enough to justify all the additional investment.

Oh well, maybe they will correct this tint with iPhone 13. I messed with recommended color settings and I cannot see how this will be fixed with a software update.

Left VERY slightly in terms of warmth.

In last pic right one looks brighter to me. Are screen panel serials the same?

The left one flickers more in a dark room and has a hue when powering on in the same dark room. Do I keep playing the screen lotto?
I’d suggest not at this time. I got 4 Pro Maxes and all basically were the same.
If you’re going to try again, wait a month.

And apologies, I meant right, NOT left to your question.

Is this a retail box or white box replacement ?

Right is the better screen?
It’s telling that there are still issues as my PB received today is Week 47 - pretty much made last week!

Is there no other way to find out who manufactured the screen other than downloading that Chinese App? I do not have a PC, but I would like to know what grade the screen on my 12 Mini is. Thanks.

Yh. Right.
The difference between your two screens is the level of variance I saw between my 4 phones. Just sent the others back and kept the best which looks very similar to your one on the right.

Dont know of any other softwares. To be honest ive been using 3utools to flash iPhone in the past especially for Betas. No issues here.

I’m still using my first 12pro (F12DH) with a G9P screen on iOS 14.3 Beta 2. I just did the black screen test again and noticed it doesn’t fully shut off the pixels anymore. Before Beta 2, my screen would be pitch black and flicker here and there, but now it’s just constantly on while displaying black :(

No it isn’t. And no it wasn’t.

again, each year there is a batch of yellow screen phones and a batch of perfect screens.

that also applies to the 12. The yellow batch is bigger this year, but people are in fact getting perfect, non yellow screens that match the good screen phones from the 11,XS,X,8, etc back to the 3G.

the sooner you realize this, the sooner you can try to get a good screened phone like you deserve.
