Maybe True Tone needs a software update, as it seems like a lot are saying it seems more aggressive on the newer phones. Hopefully it's a simple software update and nothing more serious than that.

It’s definitely a panel defect because I’ve had two other 12 PM’s that don’t do it upon reboot.
Don’t think that is panel defect. This behavior can be connected to “raised black level” issue. In my opinion to reduce OLED smearing screen doesn’t turn off pixels completely immediately and keep pixels at lowest grey level.
Checked my phone and noticed during boot 1 second grey blink.

My Xs Max was so yellow I couldn’t stand it so it went back my 11 Pro Max was cooler so it was acceptable. Just got my 12 Pro Max and it’s really cool and crispy I love it.

Just wondering if anyone can let me know what you think about my 12 pro max's screen.
I'm not sure if it's warm or yellow, the guy at apple store said it's meant to be warm, but it seems more yellow to me when it's compared to my X, thanks.
left = x
right = pro max

12 looks way better in second photo.

Is this at max brightness? My 12 PM screen sucks at low brightness.

Can someone please help me figure out the production week? I don't have a PC :(

First 5 of SN - F2MDL

Thank you!

The fifth character tells us the production week, I think that’s what most people are interested in. Especially if it’s later and Apple worked out whatever early batch issues they were havin

Can you screen experts chime in on my screen? Seems fine to me, but my 50 year old eyes may deceive me. Reading this thread made me OCD now regarding yellow tint on my screen 😕

Purchased my 12 Pro and received it last week. I was very disappointed about the yellow screen tint and the max brightness which could not compete with the screen of my old P30 Pro -reviewed with 600 nits max-which had a much whiter color display. I made my research, here and googling, made the ios update but very little changed. I hade to change the tone intensity under accessibility and that solved -partially- the problem. The yellow tint still there. I went to an Apple retailer and asked if the display was supposed to be normal, they said it was a bit too much "of a dead display" and recommended the return but of course with no certain date of replacement. So I decided to return it and stick to my Huawei until the problem is solved...Going out the shop I took a glance at a Pro in the shop -for exposition- that was so much brighter! I personally can't buy and can't accept some explanation as the software run in the shop is different therefore you can't compare it, or the OLED is different technology than LCD so you can compare with that...To me it looks like the Aesopus story do not just make an excuse for what you can't achieve. There are plenty of OLED displays made by different OEM, and they oupace the LCD in most everything...so if you can't make an OLED better than an old LCD you just are not doing it the right way. Maybe in the future all these problems will be solved by FW update, as for now I am a bit disappointed.

Nobody on the internet will be able to tell anything from a picture of your phone by itself, because nobody knows the white balance setting of the camera you took the picture with. You need at least two screens in the same picture to compare them. But even then, nobody can say if one of them is warm or cool in absolute terms, only if one is warmer or cooler than the other.

That said, if it looks fine to you, why go on the internet in search of problems? Just enjoy your phone, if it looks good to you then perfect.

Looks like Apple got fed up of me. Well, if they sorted their quality control there’d be no need for multiple returns.
Do I create a new Apple ID?
Have you been banned from buying all Apple Products or just that specific model of iPhone??

First off, not picking on you specifically, but this post represent a numerous amount of other posters. People read threads and then assume they are suppose to be having the same 'problem' when they can't perceive a problem themselves.

Just use your phone and enjoy it if you can't see a problem.

And good luck to all those that keep returning numerous phones trying to get a 'better' one.

Please do not patronize —let alone with a spurious Einstein quotation.
