Not if they’re properly calibrated they won’t.You compared an OLED to a bunch of LCD panels. Of course they are going to look different.

I’m sorry but you’re making a nonsense comparison. XR has a different technology in the panel. It’s an LCD/IPS.So I just got my replacement iPhone 12, but sadly it doesn't really look that different. I ordered the first iPhone 12 on 19.11.2020, unfortunately I did not note the serial number. The new serial number starts with DNPDP.
I would say on the photos the first one looks a little bit better but in reality the new one is the same or even a little bit better. Probably bad lighting. When looking from a different angle the yellow shift turns into a good white screen if you ask me.
So I don't know if I am going to replace it or maybe just get my money back and wait for 1-2 months and then try it again.

I'm aware that these are different technologies, but a good calibrated display should look more similar even if it is a different display technology shouldn't it?I’m sorry but you’re making a nonsense comparison. XR has a different technology in the panel. It’s an LCD/IPS.
the IPS are way better in white point, but worse in other sides.
The nonsense is what you posted. An accurate screen is an accurate screen, no matter the tech. If oled can’t match the accuracy of lcd, it’s inferior tech end of story.I’m sorry but you’re making a nonsense comparison. XR has a different technology in the panel. It’s an LCD/IPS.

of course, oled can and frequently does match or exceed lcd.
Just ensure only one phone is in your cart. Nothing to do with returnsLooks like Apple got fed up of me. Well, if they sorted their quality control there’d be no need for multiple returns.
Do I create a new Apple ID?
The comparison makes perfect sense. The new screen is either better or it isn’t. Endo of story. Doesn’t matter if you are comparing to lcd, crt, plasma, led, whatever.what your saying?
We are talking about a comparisons that is a no sense. Period. Why the heck we should compare and find a similarity in two different things?
That is with only one phone in my cart. Look at the cost...Just ensure only one phone is in your cart. Nothing to do with returns
How many did you previous return? That is with only one phone in my cart. Look at the cost...
4. The problem I have is I couldn’t decide on the colour and then once I did, I needed to find a good screen. How many did you previous return?
Go into a pitch black room, reboot your phone and watch the screen - look around the Apple logo for slight green and then just before the Lock Screen appears see if you get a green/grey halo around the entire screen for a second or so. If you don’t then your screen is good.Picked up a 12 Pro last night. The screen seemed VERY yellow to me in the evening and I was concerned. Poured over the comments here and on other forums, but didn't get a chance to take any photos.
Woke up this morning to take photos and was surprised that the 12 Pro (right) seemed much cooler in the morning light (window), though still warmer than the X (left).
I personally think the display is calibrated to be warmer, and the TrueTone is quite aggressive in artificial light.
I believe the serial number starts with D6T. I don't think I will be returning as I don't see any other issues mentioned here like flickering or green blacks.

Dang, this still going.

I might just wait until January and if it's not fixed by then i'll return it.
I lose about 50 nits of brightness but by keeping colour tint on and putting the hue to about 75% seems to give the display a nice colour. Will keep it like this until then.
I feel like this as well in that I have the color filter hue at around 70% (0% intensity) and it seems to look fine to me. It loses some brightness but that’s about it. Toggling the filter and normal screen, all it does is remove the ugly yellow tint which is what I want.
I still feel pretty iffy on keeping a $1,300 phone and having a color filter on to make it look normal but if this is a problem with like 95% of the screens, I almost feel like I could just settle with it the way it is now and live with the filter on.
I’m so torn. It annoys me so much Apple put us in this position. Just...give us a decent product. Ugh.
