Just spoke with a senior apple technician after receiving my latest replacement, which also had yellow screen issue. The technician confirmed that the screens this year are yellower and it is intended. Advised me to add a color filter if I wanted to change it more to my liking, but they would not do any more replacements.

That sucks. So they won't let you return your last replacement ?

If this is true, then Apple has a real problem with consistency. There is evidence of various shades of yellow-tinted displays.

According to the information I found on a Japanese forum, the problem has not been fixed in 14.3beta3

This is pretty ridiculous imo, so much for the high tech "Super Retina XDR" when the screen looks as if someone pissed on it and you can't wipe it off. Intended my ass.

I'm happy if colour filter could solve the problem, but I have tried every single combination to no avail. This year's 12 Pro Max seems to have the worst yellow hue ever which cannot be mitigated whatsoever.

Doesn’t really mean anything. Their responses are a gamble just as much as finding a good panel is. Other technicians are telling people they are aware and will be fixing it soon through an update.
He said a fix was in the pipeline, however it is not for yellow screens. The "warmer" screens was within calibrated specifications and that there would be some panel variances. The fix is for screen flickering and those with larger green patches on low brightness.

Intensity all the way to the left ("0%"), the hue is somewhere around 75%-ish percent: not too far left to be green, but not veering into purple. It will still look a bit "off" compared to another screen, you won't be able to match 100%. But I did this, and left True Tone on, and have no issues. If I place phones side by side, yes I can see a difference, but day-to-day use my eyes adjusted and I don't notice anything yellow, dull, etc. about the display. Again, I left TT on and haven't noticed the overly yellow tint return at all.

edit: Sorry, I have a Pro not a PM. I did notice at Best Buy that the Max seemed to have the worst yellow hue of all the models...
I tried your settings (including turning on True tone), unfortunately it's even more yellow that way...

I was also initially told by the Apple Store staff that the yellow screen was intended.
I told them there were several other issues and they said if they diagnosed the iphone and there was no hardware problem, they could not replace it.
But when I called Apple Care the day before, I mentioned that I was told by a senior engineer that it could be replaced.
Then the staff replaced it in a disgusted manner.

If Apple doesn't release any software update/tweak in the next few weeks, I encourage everyone to return/exchange their phone for a new one. Keep returning/re-buying until you are satisfied.

More returns = better chance this won't occur in the future or they release a software update.

Don't settle for any compromises, especially with a $1000+ device.

Post some more of good panels please, so I can start lottery again. o_O

congrats to the people with good panels. You have now a amazing phone.

Do not trust completely on the single phone picture... without a comparison device side by side it's difficult to judge.
My 11PM is better in terms of whites.

Anyway, my 2nd 12PM is acceptable.
The first one was a bit yellow and with a green tint in the off axis.

UNfortunately my unit has the GAPGATE :D that bothers my OCD, but on 3 units they all have the gapgate so it's ok.
Still, a smart user gave a very good answer this manufacturing "feature" and i am almost done with that because it make sense to me.

I posted side by side today. Check my post. I won the panel lottery today with my latest unit. Can now fully enjoy the phone- it doesn’t have any of the defects posted.

Noticed this is a dark room on high brightness. The edge of the panel is leaking light. No it's not a reflection. Look inside the speaker grill and you can see the light. Regular black 12 with matte black sides.
It seems to look fine in this pic of yours from another thread.

Hey man look, if you don't think this is a real issue, you are free to move on. Posts like this are just petty troll attempts.
Not saying it's not an issue on some phones, but it's pretty clear that they are simply calibrated a bit warmer this year. Not trolling, but you come across as completely unhinged. You're attacking anyone who disagrees with you in any way, and your OP is nuts. "RETURN IMMEDIATELY!!!". "Invariably, within 4 days of launch, they will all be swapped for pristine, 100% non yellow phones. Swear to god as my witness. 100% chance they will be swapped."

Maybe take it down a few notches if you want anyone to take you seriously.

Not disagreeing with that statement, but I am saying that myself and others in this thread are out of patience for people who refuse to read themselves, evaluate the huge body of evidence supporting this issue in this thread and in past ones, and instead recycle disproven arguments over and over again. You are head of that group - willfully ignorant, ignoring all facts and logic, and refusing to educate yourself. No one has time for a person like that.
What on earth are you talking about?

ios 14.3 beta didnt help the yellow screen, flickering when shifting the brightness or the glow when turning the phone on.

So what's the consensus with the iPhone 12 Mini? I've noticed some here have done well with like the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max replacements, so should I go ahead and get a replacement, or should I wait a few weeks/months for a new batch to be produced?

My 12 Mini has serial F4GDL0A and is a launch day phone. Compared to my iPhone 7 it's incredibly yellow (with True Tone off).
