Every year, you're quick to state that people "clearly have not read the entire thread". Every year you're quick to state that "people need to demand more". Every year you've say we've proven this and proven that. You have no idea whether or not a person has read the entire thread or not, and you have not conclusively proven your theories, so there's no need to be condescending to those that disagree with you.

As a full-time professional that deals with color (content creator/producer), I chuckle when I see some of the claims on here. The amount of color shift portrayed by the white balance of the pics they are taking with their other smartphone are obvious to a trained professional eye.

A few years ago, you got really upset with me when I countered some of the things you presented here. I utilized a $22K spectrometer to measure the color properties on the iPhone and you went ballistic, unwilling to accept the results of a measuring tool used by a major broadcasting network. But hey, everone is allowed to have theories right? And you certainly have plenty of them. And that's okay. But no need to get upset when others present challenges to your thoughts.
Invariably, within 4 days of launch, they will all be swapped for pristine, 100% non yellow phones. Swear to god as my witness. 100% chance they will be swapped.
Watch out, he may call you a dog and then double down on his conspiracy theories! Btw did you know it's still October?

I’m new here. You’re saying he goes off his meds every year around this time?

Can you back up anything of what you said here about me "going ballistic"?

Can you also refute people who have measured the defective iPhone 12 screens and found them to not have accurate colors?

Since we have proven that white point doesn't tell the whole story, your measurement was meaningless.

I'd like to ask anyone who has received a lucky 12, is the problem of the black screen glowing green gone too?

I think someone on the last page said their unit with a good screen doesn't have this issue. I'll be curious to see how Apple handles the flickering.

the ios beta 3 ios 14.3 has just been released has anyone had the opportunity to try it and see if there is any news about the screen?

On the launch day of the Iphone 12 mini I bought it and returned it the same day since its screen was totally yellow and it looked blue at an off axis angle..😣
After that I bought 2 more iphone 12 and they all had exactly the same problem. Today I went to the Apple Store and I was a surprised to see that absolutely all the types of iphone 12 exhibited in the demo room had the same yellow tint screen!!!
what a crazy situation!!

I am starting to stop believing that apple products have good quality and are reliable.
I have had an iphone since iphone 4 and now I'm thinking for the first time to get out of the apple world..very sad situation..

I would stick with an older model until the 13 is released before i would jump ship.

Your ballistic posts were removed by the moderators. Sorry, but my measurements were not meaningless. And if I may ask, who is "we" when you say we have proven that white point does not tell the whole story?

Any iPhone 12 Pro Max users willing to share their colour filter settings that produce the most "correct white" without the yellow-piss cast/tint? I've tried playing with the settings for hours and just can't seem to find the right settings to match my previous iPhone which has a "correct white". Note: I also apply colour filter in my previous iPhone to achieve the "correct white" because the default screen also suffered from overly yellow-tint, but iPhone 12 Pro Max seems to be significantly worse.

The yellow screen is absolutely frustrating and pissing me off. I'm definitely going to return this piece of crap to Apple soon when I have got free time on my hand, but meanwhile I hope I can get by with it using colour filter.

God damn disappointed.

Intensity all the way to the left ("0%"), the hue is somewhere around 75%-ish percent: not too far left to be green, but not veering into purple. It will still look a bit "off" compared to another screen, you won't be able to match 100%. But I did this, and left True Tone on, and have no issues. If I place phones side by side, yes I can see a difference, but day-to-day use my eyes adjusted and I don't notice anything yellow, dull, etc. about the display. Again, I left TT on and haven't noticed the overly yellow tint return at all.

edit: Sorry, I have a Pro not a PM. I did notice at Best Buy that the Max seemed to have the worst yellow hue of all the models...

Hey man look, if you don't think this is a real issue, you are free to move on.

It's worth saying again, just because that poster does not agree with your point of view does not mean that he or she needs to move on. This is not your private website where only your viewpoints are allowed. People have a right to question your claims against Apple, claims which you seem to double-down on with each passing year.

Generally speaking, are the rates of yellow screens considerably worse than 11 pro / max last year?

I know there are good 11 pro / max out there, just like 12 pro / max, but I recall it being a problem then too

it would be anecdotal, but curious !

Seems to be the worst year I've seen. Next worst I remember was the iPhone 7.

Just spoke with a senior apple technician after receiving my latest replacement, which also had yellow screen issue. The technician confirmed that the screens this year are yellower and it is intended. Advised me to add a color filter if I wanted to change it more to my liking, but they would not do any more replacements.

Doesn’t really mean anything. Their responses are a gamble just as much as finding a good panel is. Other technicians are telling people they are aware and will be fixing it soon through an update.
