How are you guys still getting new devices? I'm well outside the 2 week return policy and I bought on launch day so I don't have extended returns.
Until 14 days I click on the return function in the Apple store app. With this you get your Return lable and again 14 days to give it to ups. In the meantime I ordered new one.

I have two good ones here and I can decide until Friday whether I keep the max or the pro. Luxury problem

Reports are already surfacing of a classic annual tradition in iPhone land - the dumping of yellow tinted reject screens on unsuspecting consumers.

This happens literally every year, since the iPhone 3G. Every. Year. without fail. Same tint. Same excuses from Apple apologists.

....

LOL, literally every year, you post the same crusade. Without fail. Same yellow conspiracy theory. If you're not happy with Apple's iPhones (which clearly you are not), then why not move on? There are plenty of good smartphones to choose from.

Well 3,300+ comments say that he’s not entirely making it up, so could you just leave if you’re not going to actually contribute? You took the time just to come in here and complain about other people having a discussion.

I also ordered it on launch day. It arrived on 26th November, so the 14 day return period isn’t over yet. I called the sales and asked for replacement.

ps: I had two support calls, they connected to the device remotely. In the second call I asked, what he expects, how a remote connection could help in my case (no whites, just yellow), I mean how it could help in the analysis. He told me, that if its a software related problem, then he will be able to see the color problem. (Wow, interesting, if true then Apple uses a fairly rough technology for remote connection.)
We tried combining different brightness, True Tone, Night Shift, Color Filter settings, but the color on the other side of the remote connection was always good.

I’ve won the screen lotto, finally. New iPhone 12PM PB received today from a major UK Retailer - Build Week 47 (16th - 22nd Nov) - G6TDQ

This device:
- has white whites
- no pink, green hues or green colour shift on tilt
- a fully even screen - no pink in the corners/sides
- True Tone doesn’t look pi** yellow and is subtle when on
- blacks are ink black and images pop more
- no gaps between screen and bezel - testing with the Apple logo sticker
- no green/grey screen on boot in a dark room
- no flickering when watching a black screen YouTube video at 25%> brightness - the screen turns completely off

This one is a keeper and I’m done now. There are good screens out there but there are more bad than good.

Left is the bad screen and right is the keeper. Good luck to people still going through the motions.

Your post really makes me want to start playing the lotto to replace my yellow 12PM, but I don’t want to get my Apple account locked due to excessive returns. Does anyone know the limit? I’ve not returned one yet.

FWIW, I had great luck last year with Express Replacements under AppleCare. My third 11 Pro Max was near perfect and I kept it. I know some people do not like getting the white box replacement, but I found it much easier than returning a phone and buying another one. I plan to do the same thing this year with my 12 Pro Max, but I will wait until later in December or early January.

I would contact them about my green flickering but I'm sure they would just say "wait for a software fix"

All set up now. Few pics for reference and yes good panels exists.

This is an open discussion forum (assuming the forum rules and etiquette are followed). I hope you're not suggesting that someone is only allowed to speak if they agree with the original post.

I'm not complaining about other people having this discussion. I'm simply pointing out the OP's major push every year in a claim that Apple is trying to deceive and trick consumers with "yellow screens". And yes, I respectfully disagree with that point of view.

Not quite a conspiracy theory when each year, including this one, we have photos of both yellow tinted screens, and good clear screens. I stick with Apple because when you get a good screen, they can't be beat.

At least this year we have proven that white point alone does not tell the whole story. The yellow panels might even have a white point that exactly matches another clear screened phone, but the yellow phone is deficient in other colors. Finally, we can stop the mindless "intentional D65" BS posts. Lots of pros, photographers, and people with correct displays also chiming in this year to add their voice that these yellow screens are not accurate, and are defects.

You clearly haven't read any of this thread. I clearly state that Apple isnt trying to deceive anyone or acting maliciously. They are optimizing for profit margin, while making sure to keep customer satisfaction up. So if customers allow this yellow tint, they'll keep shipping it, cause yellow screens cost less. So my point is - get educated, and demand more.

The problem with express replacements is the replacements will be older build week devices. We’ve been having success (see my post) with Build Week 47> - this potentially suggests that the bulk of the bad panels have been used. There are still good screens before Week 47 but they seem far and few between.

Noticed this is a dark room on high brightness. The edge of the panel is leaking light. No it's not a reflection. Look inside the speaker grill and you can see the light. Regular black 12 with matte black sides.

So what's the consensus with the iPhone 12 Mini? I've noticed some here have done well with like the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max replacements, so should I go ahead and get a replacement, or wait a few weeks/months?

My 12 Mini has serial F4GDL0A and is a launch day phone. Compared to my iPhone 7 it's incredibly yellow (with True Tone off).

Every year, you're quick to state that people "clearly have not read the entire thread". Every year you're quick to state that "people need to demand more". Every year you've say we've proven this and proven that. You have no idea whether or not a person has read the entire thread or not, and you have not conclusively proven your theories, so there's no need to be condescending to those that disagree with you.

As a full-time professional that deals with color (content creator/producer), I chuckle when I see some of the claims on here. The amount of color shift portrayed by the white balance of the pics they are taking with their other smartphone are obvious to a trained professional eye.

A few years ago, you got really upset with me when I countered some of the things you presented here. I utilized a $22K spectrometer to measure the color properties on the iPhone and you went ballistic, unwilling to accept the results of a measuring tool used by a major broadcasting network. But hey, everone is allowed to have theories right? And you certainly have plenty of them. And that's okay. But no need to get upset when others present challenges to your thoughts.

Any iPhone 12 Pro Max users willing to share their colour filter settings that produce the most "correct white" without the yellow-piss cast/tint? I've tried playing with the settings for hours and just can't seem to find the right settings to match my previous iPhone which has a "correct white". Note: I also apply colour filter in my previous iPhone to achieve the "correct white" because the default screen also suffered from overly yellow-tint, but iPhone 12 Pro Max seems to be significantly worse.

The yellow screen is absolutely frustrating and pissing me off. I'm definitely going to return this piece of crap to Apple soon when I have got free time on my hand, but meanwhile I hope I can get by with it using colour filter.

God damn disappointed.
