Dear all,
I have the same issue with the yellow tint of the white.
I sent back my 12 pro max 16 november.
I just received the new one yesterday.
New one is identical, maybe a little better for the viewing angle.
colours are washed, white a little yellow, white become blue at 45° in all side (new oled panel).
i didn't test the green flash, i will, when restoration will be finished.
I wish apple could do something from IOS version for the yellow tint.
I think it could be possible to upgrade the colour filter for more possibilities.
I have gone to Boulanger ( french reseller) and Bouygues seller ( like ATT for USA).
And all the iphone 12 12pro 12min 12 max had the yellow tint. some with less but all in the yellow tint.
If you boost britness to 100% it is less noticeable.
Some of youd give me the weeks of production ?

1 st : F2LDJ
2nd : F2LDN

thanks,

so the second one has been built 1 st week of November and no really changes.
In all case i think this is too early to proceed with replacement.
You will lost your time.
I was nearly sure of the result, but i wanted to test 1 time for no remore.
Will not send back again. will wait 6 month and try to compare with other one.
It means that the phone came from china in 1 month, the deLay is normal for me in Europe for product coming from china by boat. In genaral it is 3 weeks of transport.

I received my 3th iPhone 12 today.
  • First 12Pro was terribly yellow.
    • No more information. Believe it was a LG panel
  • Second 12ProMax much more better.
    • SN F2LDK
    • SN Display G9N
  • Third 12Pro is the best. I am satisfied with the last.
    • SN DNPDP (15Dec2020)
    • SN Display G9P

All phones have the glowing/flickering black.

Following pictures shows the second 12PM and third iPhone 12P

The difference is so small that for me is still the question of the size more important.

I still remember the first 12P... absolutely not acceptable for me.

Hard to say- personally if there’s no fix from Apple I’m going to get a replacement toward the end of my return period and just keep the better screen.
I did that and got the EXACT SAME yellowish panel. Now im waiting for my 3rd iPhone. If is the same, i will return all of them. Compared to my X, whites are night and day. Too much difference.

I notice a slight flicker/pulsing when i have a full white image on the display. Is this the flicker people are talking about ?

When you return these phones do you do it in person at Apple or online ? I'm trying to return mine online but it doesn't give me an option to describe the issue i'm having with the phone.

There are more issues related to the display. In my case, the reason I returned my iPhone 12 PM was:
  • Yellow tint or gray colors tending to be greener than all the other device displays that I have seen.
  • Videos or pictures with all-black content behaves more like an LCD panel than OLED. In an OLED panel, blacks=pixels off just like any other OLED display.
  • Not only the real black colors are dimly lighted on the screen, but they were also pulsing or flickering when playing videos.
Another issue not related to the display, all my videos were like this no matter the light condition.
. Now waiting for a replacement.

Mine has this video issue as well. Interesting, I thought I was the only one.

So I’ve got piss yellow display, green tinted greys, low brightness, and flickering video. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Two friends have the same problem with their iPhones at 12 PM. One of them is a videographer and he couldn't stand the issue. I don't remember if it is the same when recording at 30 fps. Can you verify if recording at 30 fps the situation changes? I think that I tried both but I don't remember and I waiting for the replacement.

hi all. I’ve also got the same issue with an iPhone 12 mini.

If it’s a widespread issue, is there any point replacing the iPhone 12 mini now, or should I wait?

Also, is there something along the lines of serial number/display manufacturer that I should be tracking? Like are Samsung panels better than LG etc?

Thanks

I don't know about the mini but someone here said the Samsung G9P panel looks the best for him. In my case I didn't wait long, I just called and asked for a replacement. If the new one exhibits the same problems I will replace it as well.

Sorry, but I'm confused. SN DNPDP December 15, 2020???

Thanks. How do I check what panel I have?

I received my first iPhone 12 pro max last week and it is visibly yellow the replacement is even worse. Not only it is darker but more yellowish. But what I noticed is the first one got brighter and whitier? I like the pics on my iPhone 7plus compared to these 2. I might try a 3rd one or accept the first. What you all think. Pics is 7, first promax then 2nd promax. Got these phone from T-Mobile

just picked up a 12 Pro and the screen looked a bit warm/yellow to me compared to the iPhone 7 that I just replaced. Went into the display settings and turned off "True Tone" and the screen went back to the "normal" cooler color that I was used to on my iPhone 7. Might be something to fiddle with in your setting if the screen seem unusually warm/yellow to you

You literally didn't read one post before posting did ya? lol no worries. Its not TT.

Just curious..how many people who have issues with the screen use their phone exclusively with true tone on? It's my understanding (tell me if I'm wrong) that true tone is meant when viewing the phone mostly at night when the ambient light is different than during the day. A screen can have a tendency to look too blue in that environment so true tone is provided to warm it up a bit.
I leave true tone turned off on my phone and honestly I think it looks gorgeous. It's not too yellow at all.

After 3,300+ comments I think we’ve determined that the issue exists regardless of True Tone.
